Ren was currently sitting in the subway, on his way back home from university. Having finished all lectures for today, he was rather exhausted. Studying abroad, and listening all day to a foreign language, wasn't easy to begin with, but the warmth wasn't helping either. It was currently summer, and the sun was unyielding beaming down, sucking his energy out of him.
But still there was something, he was looking forward to. Today his favorite novel released a new volume and tomorrow was the weekend. So he could get completely absorbed in it and read the whole weekend. This was basically his live, studying under the week, and watching the whole weekend anime, reading books or gaming.
The guys at the university where totally unchill, all they did was learn outside of university and the few who were not, were somehow one way or the oder weird. Okay, you may ask, what's with people outside of uni? Well, being rather bad at socializing, he would never talk to some random stranger, who even would do this? Now you may think, *haven't you made friends in school*? and yes, he actually did, but due to studying abroad, he was in a different time zone, and when he finished uni, his friend would sleep and meeting them was completely out of question, since the flight would take around twelve hours.
So the contact was rather lost over time, sometimes he would game with them together, but this was it. Also he wouldn't connect with them the same he did in the past, it always felt rather awkward, talking about things outside the game. So he would of course prefer one of his favorite novels, over a gaming session.
Arriving at his station, he left the subway, took the escalator, and began walking the last five minutes to the dorm.
Standing at the gate, fiddling with the keys, trying to get the right one, he suddenly heard a car squeak, and people shouting, but it was always to late.
Turning around to see what was happening, he saw a truck driving straight in his direction, he driver seemingly passed out. Trying to jump out of the way, he was unfortunately a little to late, since the truck still hit him, feeling excruciating pain, swirling around he crashed through the gate to the floor, but the truck still didn't stop and just drove over him. Well he was completely crushed. His last regret was, that he couldn't read the new volume, well if he could decide, he would also have just died while sleeping because, getting crushed by a truck was rather painful.
Then the pain stopped and everything went black until a girl emerged from the darkness, *so god is really a girl, lol*. Her form shimmered like a mirage, shifting between existence and inexistence, like reality couldn't decide how to hold her. Covered in a dark cloak full of small lighting points, probably stars, that lighted up and dimmed down in some unpredictable order. It looked a lot like the nightsky in a clear night.
Every step she took towards him, left a faint trail of silver light, like when some constellations would shatter in starlight. Her hair was of iridescent silver, having some different hues all the time, looking a little like it was reflecting something, but the something was everchanging.
Her eyes were cresent moons shaped, with deep black irises containing golden lights that swirled around. Her mouth was forming a smile, a kind of smile, that would make non-believers believe again - not in certainty, but in the beauty of possibility.
"I summoned you here, to become my hero", she spoke in an ethereal voice, like a gentle breeze. "You may refuse, and I will send you back to your world, but I can promise you, if you become my champion, I will do everything to support you. I can't guarantee that your journey will be safe, but I can promise you, that luck will always be on your side. So are you willing to become my hero?"
"Eh, sure, yes, why not", he instinctively replied, rather dazzled by her appearance and the sudden turn of events. *Wait, what?! What is event my goal then? And will I be sent in a real fantasy world? Is she really god?*. "Ehm, sorry, to ask, but will I be sent to a fantasy world? And what will even be my goal?"
"Ah sure, since this is my first time, summoning a hero, I forgot. Yes, in your world the world, you will be sent to would be a fantasy world, with magic and the like. Your goal will be to defeat the demon king, but you are rather free to do what you want, since the major heroes will do the task probably on their own. Before I forget, I'm Amanies, in your world better known as Lady Luck. There are other divine beings, like Zeus that are far more powerful, their heroes defeated the demon king always in the past. But this demon king is stronger than the previous ones, and I also became more powerful over the last centuries, so I was allowed to summon a hero on my own. I wish I could tell you more, but our time is rather limited, so I'm going to send you down if this is okay?"
"Ah, okay, yes, thank you", *living in a fantasy world was always a dream of mine, so why not*, he thought.
