Chapter 1 - A Gust of Power

"My life sucks!." Oliver said, sat on the side guards of the flyover, watching the cars speed by below.

The wind from the rushing traffic made his hair and clothes flutter wildly, but he barely noticed. His thoughts were elsewhere—dark, frustrated, spiraling.

"My life totally sucks!" he muttered, rubbing his forehead. "My allowance for the month ran out in the first week. What am I gonna do now? There's no part-time job anywhere near my apartment. I thought living alone in the city would mean something exciting—something unique. But here I am, broke, jobless, and skipping school for three weeks straight."

He let out a deep sigh, his voice barely a whisper. "I hate my life... I just wanna di—"

A car shot past at an insane speed, sending a violent gust of wind his way. The sudden force threw him off balance. Before he could react, his body tipped over the edge.

For a split second, time seemed to slow. His heart pounded in his ears as he flailed helplessly, gravity pulling him down toward the relentless traffic below.

"What?!" His mind raced. "I was just kidding! I don't wanna die! There's so much I haven't done yet... like marriage. And sex. Man, I don't wanna die a virgin!"

He shut his eyes, bracing for the inevitable impact—

CRASH!

Instead of splattering onto the asphalt, he slammed through the sunroof of a speeding car. Pain shot through his back, but the surface beneath him was... soft? He opened his eyes, panting, and found himself sitting comfortably in the back seat of a luxurious vehicle.

"I... survived?" He gasped, overwhelmed with relief. "Yes! I'm alive!"

His joy was short-lived as he noticed his surroundings. He turned right. Then left. Then forward. Blinked.

Sitting on either side of him were two breathtaking women dressed in sleek black tuxedos, both armed with guns. To his right, a sharp-eyed woman with a short, White wolf cut and piercing blue eyes glared at him, visibly irritated. To his left, a blonde with long, flowing hair and striking silver eyes regarded him with a calm, unreadable expression.

Oliver felt his face heat up. "Wait... who are these hotties?"

"Who the hell are you, kid?" The white-haired woman narrowed her eyes.

"M-My name is Oliver. Oliver Kane." he stammered.

"And who do you think you are, breaking the sunroof?!" A frustrated male voice came from the driver's seat. The young man, dressed in the same black tuxedo, glanced at him through the rearview mirror.

"I-I'm sorry—"

Before Oliver could finish, the car drifted sharply around a corner, throwing him forward. He crashed against the two women, ending up pressed between their chest.

Internally, he was screaming. This is heaven. Man, this feels... so soft!

The car stabilized, and he lost balance again—this time landing straight onto the blonde's lap. He looked up, eyes wide, cheeks burning. She gazed down at him, smirked, and leaned in.

"Aww, you're cute," she cooed. "You can rest on my lap later, okay, baby? But right now, we're kinda in the middle of a fight."

Oliver scrambled upright, his mind short-circuiting. "What in the world is happening?! She called me baby... and she's so cute!"

The white-haired woman leaned back after firing two precise shots through the window. "Hey, kid. You wanna help?"

"W-What kind of help?" He stammered.

"Hold onto me."

"H-Hold you?"

"Just do it", she snapped impatiently.

Swallowing hard, Oliver wrapped his arms around her as she leaned halfway out of the moving car, a sniper rifle in hand. With expert precision, she took down three of the five red cars chasing them.

"Nice one, Tessa!" The blonde clapped enthusiastically.

Gunfire erupted from their pursuers. The driver, swerved violently to avoid getting hit. Tessa lost her balance and nearly tumbled out of the window, but Oliver instinctively grabbed her and yanked her back into the car.

"Hey, kid! What the hell do you think you're grabbing?!" Tessa's face turned red as she glared at him.

"Huh?" He looked down and realized—his hands were firmly on her chest.

Panic set in. "I-I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to—I swear!"

The blonde burst into laughter and wrapped an arm around Oliver, pulling him close. "Oh, baby, you're hilarious! Don't worry—Tessa isn't mad. Right, Tessa?"

Tessa grumbled, her face still flushed. "Whatever. It's fine. Just don't make it a habit, kid."

She then shot a glare at the driver. "And Axel! Could you drive a little smoother?!"

"I'm sorry!" Axel replied with a nervous chuckle.

Tessa scowled, her patience wearing thin. "That's enough," she snapped, glaring at the blonde beside her. "Hey, Leila, let's end this. You take the left car—I'll handle the right."

Leila smirked, her grip tightening around her gun. "Let's end this."

Without hesitation, they leaned out of the car window. Tessa's shot was flawless—a perfect headshot that sent the driver slumping against the wheel. Leila, however, missed her mark. Her bullet struck the front right tire instead of the driver's skull. The car lost control, skidding wildly before veering into an abandoned parking lot.

Axel, gripping the wheel tightly, followed suit, turning their car into the lot.

With a sickening crunch, the red car slammed into a concrete wall. A moment later, the driver's side door creaked open, and a middle-aged man stumbled out, blood streaming down his forehead. He gritted his teeth, pulling out a gun and aiming it toward the entrance, bracing himself. Then—

BANG!

A single gunshot echoed through the silent parking lot. A bullet pierced the man's skull, his eyes widening in shock before he collapsed lifelessly onto the cold pavement.

Footsteps followed, slow and deliberate.

Axel, Leila, Tessa, and Oliver stepped into the dimly lit lot, their presence radiating danger.

Axel scoffed, tucking his pistol into his pocket. "What was this idiot thinking? That I'd pull my car into this trash heap of a parking lot? No way."

Tessa ignored him, eyes sharp. "Let's get this over with."

The air hung heavy with tension as the three of them immediately got to work, weapons drawn, scanning the wrecked vehicle.

Oliver, still shaken but fascinated by their efficiency, trailed behind.

Tessa shot him a look. "Don't just stand there. Go check the other car outside."

"But what exactly are we looking for?" Oliver asked, furrowing his brows.

"A briefcase with golden stripes."

Oliver swallowed and nodded. "Got it."

His heart pounded as he made his way toward the crushed vehicle. His mind wandered as he examined the wreckage, replaying the absurdity of the past few hours.

"This isn't a dream. I really sat between two insanely hot girls, rested my head on one's lap, and—"

A slow smirk spread across his lips as he recalled the moment he had accidentally grabbed Tessa's chest.

Glancing at his hands, he murmured, "Man, when did my sucky life turn into this wild ride?"

Reaching the car, he cautiously opened the door. The sight that greeted him made his stomach drop.

A lifeless man sat slumped against the steering wheel, his head resting at an unnatural angle, blood seeping down his face.

Oliver recoiled. "What the—! Damn, Tessa really shot him clean through the head." Scratching his forehead, he exhaled sharply. "Man, she's dangerous."

Shaking off the unease, he started rummaging through the vehicle. After a few moments, he found nothing. No briefcase. No clues.

With a sigh, he turned back toward the others.

"Hey, the briefcase wasn't—"

His voice caught in his throat. His breath hitched.

Terror gripped him as he saw it.

A monstrous, octopus-like creature loomed behind Axel, Tessa, and Leila. Its grotesque, slimy tentacles coiled tightly around them, pinning them in place.

Tessa struggled, her muscles straining. "Can't move."

Axel cursed, thrashing against the creature's hold. "My hands—damn it!"

Leila screamed, eyes wide with horror. "Oliver, run! Just run and save yourself!"

Oliver froze.

His legs trembled. His hands clenched into fists.

"No… this can't be real."

Fear clawed at his chest, paralyzing him. His body refused to move.

"Why am I shaking? I have to do something! But what? What can I even—"

Then, memories flooded his mind.

Falling into the car. Being sandwiched between Tessa and Leila. Resting his head against Leila's warm lap. His heartbeat thundered as he remembered her voice, soft and teasing, whispering down to him… "Baby..."

Something inside him snapped.

A surge of determination ignited in his chest, burning through his fear.

His terror twisted into something else—resolve.

His fists tightened. His eyes locked onto the monstrous being before him, fury replacing hesitation.

"No." His voice was low, steady. His gaze darkened. "I'm not running away."

He took a step forward, Electricity flowing in his veins. "I'm gonna save them." He clenched his fist. "No matter what."

He glared at the creature, his fear turning to rage.

The creature's grotesque mouth stretched open, rows of jagged teeth glistening with sickening anticipation. Slowly, it pulled Leila closer, its slimy tentacle tightening around her waist.

Leila's eyes widened in terror. "N-No! Someone—help!"

"LEILA!" Tessa screamed, struggling against her restraints.

Axel gritted his teeth, his muscles tensed with fury. "Let go of her, or I swear I'll tear you to pieces!"

Before the monster could go any further, a blinding streak of blue electricity cut through the air like a lightning strike.

ZAP!

The tentacle was severed in an instant. The creature recoiled, screeching in agony as blue sparks crackled through its flesh.

Tessa, Axel, and Leila all stared, stunned.

Leila felt herself falling—only to land gently in a pair of strong arms. She blinked up, breath hitching as she realized who had caught her.

Oliver.

But he looked... different.

His once-orange hair had turned stark white, his skin tinged with an ethereal blue glow. Electricity coursed through his veins, crackling across his body in jagged streaks. His eyes, glowing with an otherworldly blue light, flickered as they locked onto the monstrous creature before them.

Then, his gaze twitched, darkening with rage.

"How dare you, you ugly freak." His voice was laced with venom. "She's the only girl who's ever called me baby so cutely... and you were gonna eat her?" His hands clenched, electricity arcing between his fingers. "You'll pay for that."

Leila's breath caught in her throat. A deep blush spread across her cheeks as she clung to him, still trembling.

"Are you okay, Leila?" Oliver said gently, looking at her.

"Y-Yeah…" she stammered, averting her gaze. "I—I think I'm okay…"

Oliver gently helped her to her feet.

From across the lot, Axel's frustrated voice cut through the moment.

"Hey, brat! Would you mind saving us too?"

Oliver chuckled, scratching his head. "Y-Yeah, yeah. I'm coming." Then, turning to Leila again, he smiled. "Stay here, okay?"

Leila nodded, still too stunned to speak.

Electricity crackled around Oliver as he turned back to the creature. Fueled by pure adrenaline, he surged forward, his body a blur of motion. The devil lashed out, its remaining tentacles striking at him like whips, but Oliver was too fast—too charged.

Ducking, twisting, dodging, he weaved through its attacks effortlessly.

Then—SLASH!

A single arc of blue lightning cut through the air, severing another tentacle.

Another.

And another.

Tessa and Axel dropped to the ground, freed from its grasp.

Axel landed hard on his back with a grunt. "Guh—damn it!"

On the other hand, Tessa found herself cradled in Oliver's arms.

Axel groaned, rubbing his sore back. "You moron! Why didn't you catch me too?"

Still holding Tessa, Oliver glanced at him, grinning. "Sorry, but I don't cuddle dudes." Then he glanced at her, smiling. "Are you okay, Tessa?"

Tessa's eye twitched. "Put me down, perv."

"Y-Yeah, sure." Oliver stammered, quickly setting her on her feet.

The moment his hands left her, a wave of dizziness crashed over him. His vision blurred. His knees buckled. His power fade out.

Then—he collapsed.

"Guh… Why do I suddenly feel… so exhausted?"

Tessa crossed her arms, eyeing him. "Looks like you hit your limit, kid."

Oliver exhaled shakily. "Makes sense…"

Tessa stepped forward, rolling her shoulders. "Rest up. You've done enough. Now it's our turn."

Axel cracked his knuckles, smirking. "Finally."

Then—

A surge of power exploded around them.

Tessa's body shimmered as she transformed. Several laser rifles and sniper turrets floated in the air around her, each one locking onto the creature.

Axel followed suit, twin katanas materializing in his hands, their blades humming with raw energy. A wicked grin stretched across his face.

Then, Leila stepped forward. Dozens of poker cards materialized around her, spinning in the air. Each card bore the image of a monstrous animal—fangs bared, eyes glowing with a dangerous light.

Oliver, still on his knees, could only watch in awe, his breath catching at the sheer display of power before him.

"So… This was their true strength."

Meanwhile, The creature's severed tentacles twitched, then began to regenerate at an alarming speed. With a guttural screech, it turned its glare toward them, eyes brimming with fury.

Then—it attacked.

A massive tentacle lashed out, slimy and deadly.

Tessa reacted instantly, grabbing Oliver and soaring into the air.

Oliver's eyes widened. "You can fly?"

"Of course." Tessa answered casually, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Two of her floating laser rifles whirred into position, locking onto the creature's head.

BANG! BANG!

Twin energy blasts struck, causing the devil to recoil in pain.

Meanwhile, Axel charged forward. With a wild grin, he leapt onto one of the writhing tentacles, running along its length with remarkable agility. His twin katanas gleamed in his grip, his focus locked on the creature's skull.

"This is FUN!" he laughed maniacally.

Just as he was about to strike, two tentacles shot up to defend its head. Axel's speed faltered slightly, but he didn't stop. With expert precision, he sliced through them mid-sprint, that wicked grin never leaving his face.

Then—with a final leap—he aimed for its skull, bringing his blades down in a powerful arc.

CLANG!

The katanas struck—but instead of sinking in, they slid off its hardened flesh, barely leaving a scratch.

Axel landed on the ground, scowling. "Damn it! This devil's skin is like iron."

Leila was already moving. She conjured several poker cards beneath her feet, using them like stepping stones as she ascended.

Once high enough, she crossed her arms, holding two razor-sharp cards between her fingers. Her gaze locked onto the devil's head.

Then—she threw them.

The cards spun through the air like bladed discs, slicing into its skull.

But—the creature barely reacted.

Leila caught her returning cards, her expression dark. "It's too tough…"

Before they could regroup, the monster's wounds began to heal—fast. The tentacles that Axel had severed regrew instantly, writhing aggressively.

Tessa and Oliver landed beside Axel and Leila.

Oliver's breath came in shallow gasps. "This never ends… It can heal itself."

"I have to admit," Tessa muttered,"it's regenerating even faster than I thought."

Axel turned to her. "So, any brilliant ideas?"

Leila clenched her fists, her voice edged with panic. "How the hell are we supposed to kill this thing?"

Tessa exhaled sharply. "We attack faster—give it no time to heal."

"Got it," Axel said, but his expression was grim. "Problem is—our attacks are scratches to this damn thing."

Tessa smirked. "I do have a plan."

She turned to Leila. "Use your cards—cut all the tentacles at once."

Then to Axel. "You'll go for its head again—harder this time."

She cocked her laser rifle. "Once it's wounded, I'll blast the weak spot."

Finally, her gaze locked onto Oliver. "Think you can transform again?"

Oliver hesitated. "I dunno. Let me try."

Closing his eyes, he focused.

For a moment, nothing happened.

Then—a weak spark flickered at his fingertips. Electricity crackled faintly, but his body didn't shift.

Oliver opened his eyes. "Okay, I think I'm ready."

But instead of nodding, his teammates stared at him, eyes narrowed.

"…What?" he asked, blinking.

Leila hesitated. "Uhh… your hair is still orange."

"…Yeah? So?"

Tessa crossed her arms. "When you transformed the first time, your hair turned white."

Oliver's jaw slackened. "Wait—for real?"

They all nodded.

"Yes & that means you're not in that form."

"…So what do I do?"

Tessa narrowed her eyes. "What were you thinking about the first time?"

Oliver tapped his chin, trying to recall. "Uh… Sitting between two hot girls… grabbing Tessa's chest… and resting my head on Leila's lap."

Silence.

Then—

Tessa shot him a death glare. "Pervert."

Oliver's face turned beet red. "S-Sorry!"

Meanwhile, the creature thrashed in the distance, its tentacles smashing through walls in its search for them.

Tessa sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Guess we have no choice."

Then, reluctantly, she turned to Oliver.

"…Think about that again, kid."

Oliver's blush deepened. "Wait, for real? You're not gonna call me a pervert?"

"No promises," Tessa said flatly. "But to unleash power, a person has to focus on what makes them happy. If that's what works for you, we can't help it."

Oliver's lips twitched into a grin. "You got it."

Closing his eyes, he focused again—this time, embracing the exact thoughts that had triggered his transformation.

The memories played in his mind—

The warmth of Leila's lap.

The softness of Tessa's chest.

The sheer insanity of being caught between two gorgeous, badass women.

Then—

Electricity surged through him.

His veins pulsed, glowing blue.

Crackling energy danced across his skin, and his orange hair slowly turned stark white once more.

Finally, he opened his eyes—now glowing with an electrified blue hue.

Oliver flexed his fingers, feeling the raw power coursing through him.

"…Alright," he smirked. "Now this feels right."

Axel let out a long whistle, arms crossed. "Huh. Guess that worked."

Leila and Tessa, meanwhile, were both silent—staring at him, stunned.

Their cheeks were slightly pink.

Tessa quickly looked away, trying to maintain her composure. "Y-Yeah. You're in that form."

Leila, however, continued staring, her mind racing. "He was cute… but now… he's looking so HOT…"

Oliver smirked at Tessa. "So... what's my role?"

Tessa glanced at the devil, which still thrashed violently in the distance. "As soon as I blast its weak spot," she said, turning back to him, "you rush in and slice its head off with your electricity."

Oliver gave her a confident thumbs-up. "Gotcha."

Tessa faced the group, her expression serious. "Remember—we have to move fast."

Everyone nodded.

The devil, still searching for them, smashed the ground and walls with its massive tentacles. Suddenly, a voice echoed through the lot.

"Hey, you ugly piece of shit!"

The devil's head jerked down to find Axel standing confidently in front of it, his wicked grin spread wide.

Axel pointed at the monster. "If you've got guts... try to kill me."

From a distance, Tessa narrowed her eyes. "This guy is insane."

Beside her, Oliver's jaw dropped. "Whoa... He's so cool."

The devil roared in rage and lashed out with a tentacle. Axel bolted, weaving through debris as the creature thundered after him.

"Leila, you ready?!" Axel called.

Leila stood poised on her floating poker cards, gripping several more in each hand. "On it!"

She crossed her arms, then flung her cards forward.

The spinning cards sliced through the air like whirling blades, cutting down the devil's tentacles in one swift strike.

Axel seized the moment. Launching himself forward, he drew his katanas and aimed for its skull.

"This time, harder, huh?" he growled through a grin.

His blades struck deep, sinking into the creature's thick hide. The devil's eyes widened in shock.

Before the monster could react, Tessa flew in from above. Her rifles whirred, locking onto the fresh wound.

BANG!!

A concentrated blast struck the exposed flesh. The devil shrieked in agony, its body convulsing.

Then—it was Oliver's turn.

His legs pumped as he sprinted forward, but his vision blurred. His breathing turned shallow, his limbs suddenly heavy.

"No… Why do I feel exhausted again? Not now..."

He clenched his fists. "I have to do this… I have to!"

A surge of electricity burst through his body. Sparks danced wildly along his arms as a sword-like aura of lightning formed over his hands.

With a desperate roar, Oliver leapt high into the air.

"Take this, freak!"

Electricity crackled violently as he brought his blade down, slicing clean through the devil's head. The creature's glowing eyes widened in shock just before—

BOOM!

The voltage ignited, and the monster exploded. Its once-impenetrable skin shredded into shards of blackened flesh, raining down in charred chunks. Blood splattered the pavement, soaking the ground like a macabre storm.

Oliver landed with the grace of a hero—

—but his power faded out only to promptly faceplant into the concrete.

Axel burst out laughing. "Pfft—HA! What a finish!"

Groaning, Oliver lifted his head, clutching his nose. "I... I think I broke my nose..." he muttered. "It hurts..."

As their powers faded, Axel, Tessa, and Leila returned to their normal forms.

Leila hurried over, kneeling beside Oliver. Gently, she placed his head in her lap.

"You're not that weak, brat..." Axel snickered. "But man, you're hilarious."

Oliver groaned again.

Tessa crossed her arms, eyeing him with mild surprise. "Didn't expect that… Not bad, kid."

Oliver smiled weakly. "So... you think I was cool?"

Tessa scoffed and turned away. "Don't let it go to your head."

Then Leila brushed her fingers softly against his cheek, smiling. "You were amazing, baby."

Oliver blinked. Suddenly, his pain seemed to vanish, replaced by a warm, dizzy sensation. His face heated up as he chuckled nervously. "I... I just wanted to help."

Leila leaned closer, her face flushed. "You did more than that... You saved me."

Oliver's brain stopped functioning. His heart pounded so loud it echoed in his ears.

"Alright, enough mushy stuff!" Axel interrupted, cringing. "Let's get out of this garbage dump before we start smelling like it." He pinched his nose.

Leila helped Oliver to his feet, draping his arm over her shoulder for support.

As they made their way toward the exit, Oliver suddenly remembered. "Wait… didn't you guys forget something?"

"The briefcase!" Axel blurted, eyes wide. "Oh no... Totally forgot! What do we do, Tessa?"

Tessa remained calm, walking casually ahead. "Don't worry. We searched everywhere—it's not here. We'll report it to HQ."

Axel sighed in relief. "Y-Yeah... Good idea."

With that, the four of them continued toward their car, battered but victorious.
