Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Class Change

'Class Change?'

A crisp sound rang in his ears, and Liu Yuan squinted slightly, the corners of his mouth lifting into a subtle smile.

A whole month is too long. I race against every second.

Just like that, Liu Yuan stood quietly to the side with a radiant smile, waiting for the Class change quest to be issued.

One second… ten seconds… five minutes…

The consecutive prompt sounds from earlier had suddenly vanished, like they'd kicked the bucket.

Liu Yuan: ???

What about the rest?

Where's the Class change quest?

It's just… not coming?

His lips twitched, face darkened — he was really tempted to curse the game devs' ancestors!

What kind of bullsht, scammy setup is this?!

Forget it, better go check the forum for info.

With a gloomy face, Liu Yuan opened the game forum interface and posted a thread:

[(Help Thread) Reached Level 10, but No Class Change Quest?]

Once the thread was written and posted, within minutes, he received dozens of replies.

[RidingPigBeatsFlyingDragon: WTF! Someone reached Level 10 already? You trying to scam ghosts?]

[CuteStrategist: Confirmed by yours truly — OP is a god-tier dumbass.]

[IAmPhoenixLittleBird: Hit Level 10 twelve hours after launch? Bro, I'm a lucky-start player and I'm still at Level 2!]

[BreezeAndSnow: Cows are flying in the sky, and OP is full of sh*t on the ground.]

[LordOfBS: WTF! This bro is too trash to join my BadassGuild. Twelve hours and only Level 10? I'm a private server veteran, already in the billions, bro!]

Line after line — all of it pure flame comments.

Liu Yuan rolled his eyes.

It's just Level 10. Is it really that hard?

You're bad, and you blame others?

Naturally, Liu Yuan filtered out all the troll comments.

As he scrolled, he eventually found a few useful replies:

[GentleRainSings: OP probably didn't read the official beta announcement.

In Dynasty Wars, there are many classes. After reaching Level 10, players don't automatically trigger a job change quest — you have to seek out the appropriate NPC to get it.

Classes vary in strength, and it all depends on luck which quest you get. ]

[FlyingDivinePig: WTF! It's the all-knowing Qing-sama! ]

[YiyiInMyArms: Greetings to Qing-sama! I read all your pro tips every day, sir! ]

[SwordSlaysAll: Qing-sama OP, Qing-sama OP! ]

All of a sudden, the thread was flooded with praises for [GentleRainSings.]

"That guy!" Liu Yuan narrowed his eyes at the username.

He wasn't unfamiliar with this person — a well-known professional streamer, dubbed the All-Knowing One.

Every time the five-year game cycle reset and a new global game launched, this guy always managed to dig up some key insider data.

But his information wasn't from internal leaks — he organized massive teams for experimentation and calculation.

Liu Yuan still remembered — in a global game a few years ago, the devs had released some internal test data to help newbies get started more easily.

Every new player treated that data like holy scripture.

But just when everyone was worshiping it, [GentleRainSings] came forward, pointed out a loophole, and backed it up with tests.

In the end, even the official devs had to admit it and thank him publicly.

That caused an uproar across the entire Jiuzhou gaming scene.

From then on, Qing-sama's reputation was legendary.

To think such a big name showed up in his thread and even left a detailed reply — Liu Yuan was both surprised and somehow unsurprised.

[Ding! Dear player, we've detected strong external noise interference. Would you like to exit the game?]

Liu Yuan shrugged, face calm — he seemed to have expected this.

He silently chose "Yes" and exited the game.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Liu Yuan opened his eyes at the heavy knocking. The corners of his mouth twitched.

He crawled out of the game pod and opened the door.

In front of him was a pretty oval face, framed by golden-brown curls. Apricot eyes, arched brows, crimson lips glowing like flame.

Anyone who saw her would instinctively want to steal a kiss.

"Sister...Q-Qing… What wind blew you, of all people, here? Aren't you supposed to be in-game gathering data?"

Looking at the beauty roughly the same height as himself, Liu Yuan swallowed hard, his face full of submission.

He dared not offend her in the slightest.

Because this girl was not only his guardian — she was also his landlady.

Li Yuqing shot him a cold glare and sneered, "Liu Yuan?"

"Heh heh… Quite a domineering name, huh!"

Liu Yuan shrunk his neck and forced a smile. "Sister Qing, I mean… a bold name helps prevent being ganked, right?"

"So this is your reason for showing off on the forums?" Li Yuqing gave him a sideways glance.

"Showing off? What did I even show off? I didn't show off anything!"

Liu Yuan looked completely baffled.

Am I wronged like Dou E?

No — I feel even more wronged than Dou E!

{Classic Chinese story; The story follows a child bride turned widow, Dou E, who is wrongly convicted of crimes by a corrupt court official for actions perpetrated by a rejected suitor, Zhang the mule.}

"Showing off that you're an idiot! You didn't even know how to trigger a class change and had to ask on the forums?"

"You ignoring your big sis like I don't exist, or are you just trying to embarrass me?"

Li Yuqing's willow brows rose as her face filled with fury.

She, the mighty Qing-sama, nicknamed the All-Knowing One!

And her little brother turned out to be a clueless idiot — didn't even know how class change works?

Fine, that she could forgive.

But to go asking on the forum like some clueless rookie?!

Am I, his elder sister, just furniture?!

Is my title as All-Knowing Qing-sama just for show?!

Yes.

The woman in front of him — Liu Yuan's landlady and guardian — was none other than [GentleRainSings], the famed All-Knowing Qing-sama of the gaming world!

"I… um…" Liu Yuan opened his mouth.

"Alright, brat. What level are you now? Let's get down to business and talk about the class change."

Li Yuqing changed the topic, eyeing Liu Yuan. "Don't tell me you're still Level 0!"

(⊙o⊙)…

What level am I again?

Sister Qing is a pro… If I say I hit Level 10 in twelve hours, will that sound lame?

Maybe I should lie, don't want to embarrass myself.

"Well, uh, Sister Qing, you're the pro here. Why don't you tell me your level first? So I can have a goal to aspire to, y'know?"

Liu Yuan lowered himself completely, keeping a humble tone.

His sister's Qing-sama title wasn't earned lightly!

As for those players on the forum wailing about the hellish leveling speed — Liu Yuan ignored them entirely.

What's the point of comparing to noobs?

I'm a man who aims to be like Qing-sama!

While those noobs were still fighting for Level 2, 3, or 4, the real pros might already be at Level 10+!

Liu Yuan thought confidently.

Hearing this, Li Yuqing straightened her back.

Ah, yes — time for some flexing!

Hands behind her back, back straight, chin slightly lifted at a 45-degree angle, she cleared her throat and confidently declared:

"My… I mean, my character is already at Level 5!"

"Just a mere Level 5, it'll be at most half a month before I get my class change. Nothing impressive, really. Absolutely nothing worth bragging about."

"According to my inside info, even among the top Chinese players, the highest level is just 6 right now."

"So, do you understand what it means for your big sis to be at Level 5 already?"

Li Yuqing beamed with pride, ready to receive Liu Yuan's reverent praise.

Liu Yuan: …

What does it mean?

It means… nothing to brag about!
