Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Towards Arathi

Galen always had a sense of urgency in his heart, fearing to follow the old path of Prince Galen in the original story. He tried to change the future, and the first step was to strengthen his own power.

It wasn't until after this meeting that he felt a little relieved. He had taken the second step in trying to change his destiny. He was going to leave the city and find a secret place to summon the Heart of Origin and see what this Titan creation that had been in his mind for more than ten years was like.

Galen and Danath said goodbye and agreed to meet tomorrow. Danath would also be preparing to return to Goshek Farm, which was the base of the militia, tomorrow. This time he was promoted to aide of the militia and had many things to deal with.

As soon as Galen left the castle, he saw two guards walking towards him at the gate. They were his two guard captains, whom he himself selected from the army. "Your Highness." The two men saluted Galen and followed him.

"Omar, have you heard any interesting news lately?" Galen asked as they walked.

Omar was on his right. When he heard the prince's question, he immediately replied, "Your Highness, I recently heard that our Royal Archmage Hadley mysteriously disappeared." He frowned and continued in a puzzled tone, "According to the news brought by caravans from various countries, not only from Stromgarde, but also from Lordaeron, the Kingdom of Stormwind, the Kingdom of Gilneas, and Dalaran, there are mages who have mysteriously disappeared or died. Among them, the Royal Corps of Mages of the Kingdom of Stormwind was completely annihilated. The scene exuded evil energy, and the nobles were in a panic."

Hearing this, Galen was not too surprised. According to his memories from his previous life, it was definitely the Guardian Medivh who was possessed by Sargeras who did it. All those who died should be members of the Council of Tirisfal.

When the Council of Tirisfal was established, it was dedicated to monitoring and destroying demons entering the world of Azeroth, although later it became responsible for monitoring all magic users. However, as an organization that has destroyed demons, they have long been on the blacklist of Sargeras, the leader of the Burning Legion.

After the great devil Sargeras has eliminated the Council of Tirisfal, he will need to contact Gul'dan, who is far away in Draenor, to prepare to open the Dark Portal and allow the orcs to invade Azeroth.

"There isn't much time left," Galen sighed in his heart. Medivh and Sargeras are two souls in one body. Now a large number of mages have died. It should be that Sargeras has gained the upper hand and suppressed the Guardian, so the Dark Portal should have begun to be built.

While thinking, Galen turned around and asked another guard, "Varokar, how is the progress of the things I asked you to prepare?" Varokar, the young guard on Galen's left, immediately said, "Prince, I have finished drawing the map of Arathi. We can say that everything is ready."

"Very good, you did a good job. As soon as I'm ready, we will immediately set off on an adventure." Galen suppressed his urgency and still had to make preparations. "Hurry up and bring me the map."

He planned to study the map and look for a suitable location.

The map prepared by Varokar came from the palace library. The content was very detailed. Galen recalled the map he traversed while doing quests on the nostalgic server before crossing over. The appearance was roughly the same, but after all, it was just a game, not a real-world map.

The Arathi Highlands are surrounded by mountains on three sides. To the north, east, and south are the vast Alterac Mountains. Behind the mountains to the south is the Strait of Sardor. Near the center of the strait is a mountain pass where there is a sea-crossing bridge built by the dwarves: the Sardor Bridge. It was built by the Bronzebeard dwarves of Ironforge to facilitate travel with the Wildhammer dwarves of the Hinterlands. Now the kingdom trades with the dwarves through the Sardor Bridge.

The place where the Arathi Highlands connect with the Hillsbrad Foothills in the west is a vast plain. To defend against the trolls in the northwest, the Arathor Empire spent hundreds of years building a wall called Thoradin's Wall that spans the entire Highlands from north to south.

Looking at the detailed cities and towns marked on the map, Galen was looking for sparsely populated areas.

The southwest is where the capital is located and is densely populated. Although there are mountains in the Bay of Fadil, this place is close to the Sardor Bridge, one of the main roads to Arathi. It is not suitable and is discarded first.

To the northwest is Thoradin's Wall, an important garrison of the kingdom. The Alterac Mountains to the north are full of large and small mineral deposits owned by the nobles and are also undesirable.

Galen spent half a day searching the map and selected two locations. The first is located in the northeast corner of the Arathi Highlands, on the border of the kingdom. In the future, humans built the fifth orc internment camp here, which was later the location of Hammerfall.

Another is located in a valley south of the highlands, which is the location of Stonefist Hall in later generations. This location is surrounded by mountains to the east and west, and to the west is the northern tributary of the Strait of Sardor. Galen remembered that this place was in the game in his previous life. There was a road at the southernmost end leading to the shore of the strait. Perhaps he could build a pier here after it develops in the future.

In the end, Galen decided to choose the valley where Stonefist Hall was located in later generations.

In later eras, Hammerfall and Stonefist Hall are both located on the border of the kingdom and can be quite secret. Before officially summoning the Heart of Origin and without knowing the specifics of its trick, Galen's rough idea was to rely on his identity as a prince to secretly develop the base in the early stage, and then use the base to strengthen the power of the kingdom and crush the enemies of the kingdom in the later stage, when the base was on the right track.

The main reason for choosing Stonefist Hall is its geographical location. Considering that the base can be established in the forest of the Alterac Mountains, under the premise of maintaining the same secrecy, Stonefist Hall is closer to the prosperous area of the kingdom than Hammerfall, and transportation is very convenient, which facilitates supply. Another thing is that in a later stage, when considering sending troops to various places, docks and piers can be established on the Strait of Sardor.

However, the Stonefist Hall area is too close to the territory of the Witherbark Trolls, so we must be careful when the time comes. Galen remembered that there is an old saying in his old country: Build high walls, store abundant food, and become king slowly. When the strength of the base is not enough, it still needs to be developed little by little. Once you develop the army in the base, you will sooner or later pacify the Witherwood Village and conquer the Witherbark Trolls.

After temporarily selecting a location, it is necessary to conduct an on-site investigation. After all, Galen has seen the place with his own eyes, and relying solely on the map is not enough. If that doesn't work, it is also necessary to visit the alternative location of Hammerfall Town.

Galen called Omar and Varokar and asked them to prepare the necessary supplies for the team's travel, and asked them to gather the caravan early tomorrow morning and be ready to depart at any time.

After dismissing the two, Galen was also preparing things he might need.
