Entering the firehouse I found the dead legion body's and the radioactive material they had exposed. I shut the cases of the material and stuffed the legion plans they had into my bag along with one of the heavy duty fire helmets with a gas mask. With the bottom floor clear I went up the stairs and cleared the second level with my 10 mm smg. In the bathroom I found the unique fire axe Knock-Knock with the users skeleton.
I left the building and entered the police station with the key I got from the ghoul. By the time I cleared out the station I was out of 10mm ammo and was using my shotgun. In the storage room I found weapons in the form of 9mm pistols, service rifles, grenades, and ammo for the guns. I grabbed multiple mags for the rifles and one rifle for myself along with the grenades and two 9mm pistols that I found holsters for.
In a box in the back of the room I found what I was hoping would be in here, multiple rad suits that I could use to save the slaves. I went out and into the fire station and got two duffel bags then stuffed the suits in them.
I made my way down to the overlook and found the other radioactive waste truck. I pulled out a screw driver jamming it into the lock and twisting till it broke. I then stabbed the screw driver under the door and pryed it open while sliding the screw driver around to hit the bolt securing the door. It took a bit but I got the lock and I slammed the door open with the waste barrels tumbling down the cliff. My scouting found the slave pins were on the edge of the cove buildings with the troop tents but it was still close to the road.
I sprinted to the entrance road as legionnaires gathered to the barrels. Almost the entire camp was over there or were distracted by it and I easily got in. I made my way to the pin and slit the throat of the slave pin master and took his keys. I tossed the keys in with the duffels and my rad-x and radaway.
With the slave occupied with preparing to escape I snuck into the first floor of the main building and stole all the intel I could. With that intel I snuck into Aurelius's office and found him lying on his bed. I walked up and slammed a pillow over his head and drew one of my pistols. He stopped struggling after a few bullets and I grabbed Recompense the Fallen along with legion raid plans.
With all of this I went back out and found the slaves exiting the pin. There where 6 of them and I handed all but the youngest a 9mm pistol. I lead them out of the cove via the main road and up to the shack I had been using. Halfway there I gave my service rifle to the oldest woman and had to carry the pregnant woman of the group.
I told them to hole up in the shack and that I would be back after I finished of the legionnaires at the cove. I made my way to the overlook and found that the legionnaires and the dogs had fled form the barrels when their men started dropping. The man at the docks had been smart enough to put on a rad suit but I put a bullet through his head.
I started picking of the survivors when more shots started splattering enemies. I quickly searched the vantage points and was surprised to find Boone on one popping legion heads. Eventually there was no more movement so I made my way down after waving for Boone to stay where he was.
I went and grabbed the duffel bags the slaves left behind and started looting. I found many 44 revolvers, machete, some power fists, multiple other weapons and some basic supplies. After I was nearly unable to carry the bags I made my way up to Boone. When I got to his vantage point I found him pointing his rifle at me.
"Who are you and what happened to the slaves of this place?" He questioned me with his angry attitude. I looked up at him and said "You can call me Ellery and I took the slaves to my shelter/snipers nest." His expression relaxed and he lowered his rifle with a gesture to hand him one of the duffels. I gladly handed one over and waved him to follow me.
After half an hour of walking we got to the shack and I knocked on the door. The oldest woman opened the door and helped us in. Boone dropped his loot bag and ran to the pregnant woman. It helped me remember that he had mercy killed her in game and was broken because of that.
I had them move away from the bed and I moved it to get the supplies I couldn't carry with me. After resting the remaining hours to night Boone and I took watch shifts and we got moving early in the morning. I went back to the camp with the rad suit on and scavenged together a metal four wheel cart. I pushed it to the bottom of the mountain with the shack and Boone and I transferred everything left over to the cart.
On the front of the cart we left and open space with all the padding we could find and helped his wife and the youngest girl onto the seats. The 4 other slaves got a rifle and pistol each with armor I had scavenged and walked alongside the cart as Boone and I pushed it.
2 hours later we got to searchlight and I grabbed all the dog tags and combat knives from the ghoul's corpses. After looting the bodies I left Boone at the cart and grabbed everything I could from the fire and police stations. Half an hour later we met sergeant Astor with about 25 troops in a small camp outside of town.
I gave him the legion intel and dog tags and he paid with 1000 caps. I told him we were heading for Novac and he sent 10 of his men with us to help us get there. We got to the bridge and met a small caravan that I traded the services of their Brahmin to haul the cart. They had already made camp so I left them there and went to the nearby location wolfhorn ranch. I didn't get much other than some miscellaneous items and the unique weapon Chopper.
I got back to the group as they were preparing to move and we set off. I knew that near this bridge and a advertisement billboard was a legion ambush. When I spotted the billboard I stopped the group and had them take cover. Boone and I scouted it with our rifles and we spotted the bright followers corpse at the same time.
I grabbed a grenade from my bag and threw it to the side of the billboard and when it went off we heard the screaming of the ambushers. 4 legion soldiers came charging out from behind a big rock on the side of the road and were met with two 308 rounds in the leaders and a hail of bullets from our people. We moved up and found all but the two behind the board dead and we put them down. There loot wasn't much but I got a plasma defender with ammo from the bright follower.
We made it to the next ambush site of fiends but found them wiped out by legion or the nearby ncr ranger station. When we got to the station I told them of the legion we had run into and the reported the incident. We left the station and finally reached Novac and I had us set up at the abandoned gas station for the night as Boone took his wife home.
In the morning I took my stuff to cliffs after the ncr troops left and I sold it all and traded some for the three unique weapons he had. I quickly used my money to set up the gas station and expanded the walls with concrete, rocks, sheet metal and a lot of welding. After setting up my new little garage I bought a Brahmin and went down to the nearby junkyard.
At the junkyard I found the two most intact cars I could, an old police cruiser and a pickup. I paid very little for them and it took an hour to get them back to the garage. After dropping off the cars I went an got the
Lone Wanderer motorcycle just outside town. I had plenty of caps so I was going to hole up here for a while and fix up a vehicle or two to use.
I began work on the truck first as it would be best for the terrain and weather as well as transport of items or people. The bike was just a side project cause it would be cool to drive a motorcycle in the post apocalypse. The only problem I had with making these work was the engine power source.
The original engines had been nuclear fusion, fission, or had energy cells. What I wanted to use was fission batteries as the replacement but they were heavy and explosive. After 2 weeks of work the truck would work if it had a power source but I was having problems with the weight of the batteries while trying to armor them and keep coolant running efficiently.
Three weeks into the project the resident enclave engineer and pilot Daisy Whitman joined me and, with her knowledge and experience I fixed the problem after cracking open the
MF Hyperbreeder Alpha and studying the tech of its massive recharge rate. After learning the stuff behind the hyperbreeder I spent a lot of money on recharge weapons and similar tech.
With the parts we needed we assembled a prototype hyperbreeder engine for the motorcycle. The lone wanderer was now a beast in wheels, I had increased the suspension and upgraded the wheels. It was a tank with 8mm thick steel welded on with a plasma torch I made out of the plasma defender with Daisys help.
She had even helped me make airless tires for the bike and truck. We eventually after 4 weeks got the bike running and we both took it for a test drive. Based on the power output it could run indefinitely aside from cooling time and part maintenance. When the bike was finished we restarted working on the truck and I had to spend the rest of my money to get the tech needed to make the engine.
It was all a pain in the ass but when it was done the truck was amazing. I had slathered 8mm steel all over the truck and made a wall around the back as I planned to put a machine gun in the 360° mounting pole I installed. I had told multiple people where I was going when I finished the cars and Boone and Carla had said they would go with me to set up a new and safer life for their child.
Before we left I had two things left to do, handle Jeannie May Crawford and talk with Daisy. First I told Daisy about Arcade Gannon in New Vegas. When I told her where he was and what he was doing she was surprised that I knew about him and that they were connected in some way but I had proven to be mysterious to her and she got over it easily.
After talking with Daisy I went and found Ranger Andy, Manny Vargas and dragged Boone outside with them. The night before I broke in and stole the bill of sell Jeannie had and gave it to Andy who was between the two. After reading it Manny and I had to immediately grab him and hold him from charging into the office.
I had Daisy spread the word last night that there would be an event in a few minutes so we simply waited for the townsfolk to show up. When most people were there Andy went in and dragged Jeannie out himself. Andy read the bill to the people and there was an uproar. Eventually it was decided that Boone would use a machete gladius I had kept to execute her. She was tied up and dragged out of town where Boone took off her head and we quickly packed things together to leave.
