Chapter 1 - Orange?

At the middle regions of Mt. Hakobe, a blizzard reigned heavy. It closed off all other sounds in the region. All except for..

"WHAT THE FUUUUCK!!!"

The figure of a young man was out in the open, with snow covering his head and wearing nothing except a white trowser with red lines on it.

Tears ran down his cheeks and snot down his nose as he screamt in helplessness and fear. He could feel the cold seeping into his body, and knew that the only reason he was still able to run was because of adrenaline. But his shaking pupils could not see anything through the thick blizzard.

If he didn't manage to find somewhere to hide or get away from 'that', he would be dead.

"HUMAN! KILL!" Chasing after him was a large monster, very similiar to a gorilla but with longer arms, a pointed head and white fur along with round spots over the arms without fur.

'WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?' The youngling shouted in his head while running past trees. It was getting harder and harder to run with the snow on the ground accumulating more and more because of the blizzard.

First, he awakens in the middle of a snowy mountain. Then a gorrila monster spots him. Then a blizzard begins while he was running away from the monster. It was like he used up all of his luck.

Tripping over a root and managing not to fall, he could not remember a single thing about anything. Except his name, and that he lived a comfortable life somewhere before being transported here.

His name was Saru, couldn't remember his last name. And he was about to die, with no recollection of who he really is and what life he once lead.

He could feel his heart pump faster and faster, and his body becoming more and more warm. But his stamina had run out. He knew he was not running as fast as was before. And finally, he fell face first onto the snow.

"Human. Run. Me. Run Faster." He heard the monster talk and through gasping breaths, he could see it's silhouette with red eyes through the cover of the fast falling snow.

'This shit is unfair.'

The monster walked towards him, leaving behind large footprints in the snow which quickly got covered up.

'Why?'

Standing right before him, he could feel some energy radiating from the monster. Instinctively he knew that even if he were to try and fight back, he would die instantly.

'why?'

Raising it's arm up, it prepared to smash him to death.

'WHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHY!!!'

As the monster's arm pushed forward, he came face to face with death imminent. With only memories of running and cold in his life, he couldn't accept it.

He didn't know who he was. And deep within, he felt that wasn't important to him either way. What he did deem important, was living a life as Saru. And now? Dying before he even felt what the words inside his mind meant? Before feeling true warmth? Before knowing what the sunrise and sunset felt like?

He couldn't accept it.

He wouldn't accept it.

A light ignited in a realm of darkness.

A flash of flames emerged in the snow, a radiant orange yellow aura could be seen from far away even through the layed of snow covering the air.

The sound of an explosion echoed through the mountain along with the rageful roar of a monster.

Flashes of orange hue shined, as the monster's angry roars continued.

'What is this?'

Saru wondered as he stared at the monster's arms where some of it's fur had slightly burnt.

Then he looked back at his hands which now had an orange hue to them.

In that instant when he was about to be killed, he felt his hands warming up and he instantly aimed them towards the monster's arm.

The monent he did that, flames emerged from my palms and shot towards the arm, pushing the the monster back into a tree.

Without wasting another second, he somehow knew what to do. Raising only his left arm, he shot another beam of flames to the monster. Only this time when it hit it, it exploded.

It was as if a barrage of information just appeared in his head. And he knew instantly what it was that he used.

'.... Magic.'

As he looked with wonder and slight apprehension, he closed his fist as the orange hue became brighter and it transformed into translucent flames. The snow melted away before it could come close to hitting his hands.

"KILL!! HUMAN!!!"

Breaking him away from his thoughts, he punched towards the monster that was charging at him.

Seeing the flames coming towards it, the monster did not know whether it was the exploding kind or just flames. It raised it's arms up and blocked the flames using it's forearms, leaving behind just smoke fleeting away.

Before it was caught off guard by the flames and, but now it knew just how weak the flames were. As long as it dodged the exploding kind, it could easily kill the human that barged into his territory.

Giving away a terrifying smile, the monster roared as the human started shooting flames and after towards it. The issue was that there was no difference that it could feel among the flames that marked it as a exploding flame and a normal flame.

The snow behind the monster's feet piled up as it was pushed back everytime it tried to move forward, getting hit by the exploding flames.

Letting out another raging roar, it glared at the human with seething anger when it noticed something.

Blocking two flame shots, it dodged the third one.

Then blocked three shots. And dodged the fourth.

The human's eyes widened in panic as the monster grinned. Observing the human, it realized that the human casted the exploding flames only through his left arm.

Giving away a human like laugh, the monster chased after the human as he ran away. It knew that even though the human was a mage, he was a weak one. Soon, it would kill the human.
