The chains that wrapped around Ace like a deathly reminder of all the mistakes he had made in his life weighed heavily. The cold stones under him chilled his battle-worn skin.
Ace reached up and tilted his hat down to cover his eyes, which held regret and acceptance. He is not Ace, not the one with the potential to be the Pirate King.
He is an otaku who died in his sleep and managed to somehow enter this world and take over Ace's body after his defeat at the hands of Marshall D. Teach.
His body, which was taken over mere seconds ago, ached with the remains of the battle. The chains weighed him down, and Ace knew it was not far before he was escorted to Marineford.
"This can not be... I will be killed. simply because I am destined to?" Ace could not help but mutter as his eyes held anger and acceptance for his future.
He was already notified that in a few minutes, he would be escorted to Marineford in preparation for his execution. Acer clicked his tongue as he clenched his fists in anger.
Why was he in this world and inhabiting the body with the most potential if he was gonna be dead at the hands of Akainu in a few hours? Is he going out like that...
"Nah, I ain't going out without a fight. Even if I die, I will die fighting for myself, not 'my' little brother." Ace muttered as his eyes turned cold and steely.
Boom!
The cell to his prison room opened, and a figure wrapped in stone chains was thrown in like a ragdoll. Ace looked to the side and noticed that it was a massive, chubby blue human.
"Jinbe?!" Ace asked in surprise at seeing a character from One Piece. He was still surprised at how he looked. Jinbe groaned as he sat upright, the chains of his hands clanging together.
"Ace... I am sorry I could not help. I tried to stop it. But, I was thrown into impel down." Jinbe's sad voice reached Ace's ears as he clenched his fist in sorrow. Jinbe closed his eyes, waiting to be scolded.
He couldn't help his friend and Whitebeard, who protected his home from other forces that would eat Fishman Island like a beast.
Jinbe's eyes turned wet as he clenched his fist. He couldn't protect his friend or his benefactor. Even his home is protected by someone else when it should be by himself.
Ace looked at his 'Friend' and smiled as he raised his arms, which felt like lead. His palm landed on Jinbe's arm only because Jinbe was much taller than Ace.
"Don't bash yourself over it, friend. But if you feel that bad, maybe you should consider joining the Whitebeard pirates as an official member?" Ace said with a smile before wincing as he felt his muscles spasm from moving.
"Ace... I will! I promise. If we get out alive, I will," Jinbe said as he looked at Ace firmly. Ace nodded before resting so his body could heal.
[1 hour later...]
Ace opened his eyes as the rustle of iron was heard and looked at the cell door. There were 3 guards and a female who looked like a real-life BDSM character.
Crack*
Sadi smiled sadistically and whipped the air with her whip. The guards finally opened the door and entered to take Ace out. They gripped his shoulder and lifted him.
"I can walk," Ace said as he shrugged them off his body. Suddenly, he paused as he looked down at his body. He saw that his wounds were almost closed, and only superficial injuries remained.
'What is happening? I know One Piece bodies have massive regeneration, but I had broken bones... Ace thought as he clenched his fist. He was confused but did not question it.
Healing was good since it prepared him for what was to come during the Paramount War.
"Take him. The Warden is waiting~," Sadi said with a smile as Ace was taken to the elevator that led to the surface of Impel Down. Jinbe watched with anger.
Entering the elevator, Ace sighed as he looked at the ground while his mind was racing. He closed his eyes, and his observation haki spread out his senses.
'My observation haki is not that powerful, barely good enough to sense emotions.' Ace thought with anger at Ace and his waste of talent.
Instead of focusing on his haki, Ace trained his devil fruit, which is not bad, but he could have used haki or split the time for both equally to be stronger.
If Ace did what Luffy did, training his haki while simultaneously training his Devil Fruit ,he could have reached admiral-level power by the time he died.
"You will be escorted by the Warden, Magellan-san. You have no hope of escaping. It makes me feel so happy~" Sadi said as she clutched her face with delight.
Ace ignored her, and Sadi pouted with disappointment from the lack of reaction. The rest of the ride remained silent, with Ace trying to use this time to improve his observation haki.
Ding!
The elevator came to a stop, and the doors opened. Ace looked up, and Magellan was standing in front of the elevator. Next to him was Vice-Admiral Onigumo.
"You can take him to Marineford," Magellan said, and Onigumo nodded as he pulled Ace forward like a slave with chains on his hands. Ace glared at Onigumo and followed after him.
He couldn't do anything with the sea stone holding his powers back, and his haki was not at full power. But a pro also came out of wearing the sea stone.
Ace could use this time to train his physical body while the ship was sailing towards Marineford. Onigumo and Ace boarded the boat and walked Ace into a prison cell.
"The crew will bring you food. Don't worry, it will be good. You deserve it before the execution." Onigumo said as he left the cell, leaving two navy soldiers to guard him.
Ace dropped to the floor to start doing push-ups. They watched in confusion before shrugging. Ace couldn't do anything with the sea stone, so they were not worried.
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 15, 25, 30..."
