I made a tense expression. I was once a human. Even if I don't know my race now, I can still tell all humans are greedy creatures. They would do anything to be first, even if it means killing their loved ones. She's a bandit—I don't believe she's innocent. So all she needs is a little push.
I could feel her hands trembling. I could tell my words had the effect I wanted. Then I said, "That woman who came with me... I can feel she's far more powerful than you. If your sister sees you being the weakest, she might even plan to kill you so she won't have any competition. I am sure your sister would have sent your leader to that girl to look for a way to join us, thinking she's smart, and look for a way to kick you out."
I could hear her muttering, "No... No..."
Then I nailed the last iron: "I don't want you to feel bad for what you would do, big sis. This might be the best time to strike. I am sure that man already left the tent now, so you can do it. I am not saying you should really do it. I am just looking out for you. Who knows? Maybe it's God-sent, us meeting each other and me telling you this. Who knows if this is your last chance?"
I could feel her trembling even more. From the very start we appeared, when she told her elder sister if she could have me, I could hear sarcasm in her voice. It just so happens she isn't in any relationship with any of these guys, so she can basically fuck any guy without any problem. And from what I can tell, she probably likes the leader, but it seems her sister took that from her.
Well, I just had to start the fire and let it spread. If it was any of us who went to her sister's tent, we would probably die from one attack from her. But if her sister attacks her... They've been working together for who knows how long. So she should know how to handle her.
And from how I know, the dude already left the tent—I just heard it. My hearing has already enhanced, so I focused all my senses outside. And well, I heard it. And I told Aria to stay outside so when he comes out, she can lead him somewhere outside the range of the tents without alerting anyone. I didn't tell her any of these plans. Knowing too much might even jeopardize things. So I left them as they were.
I heard her stand up. Then I hurriedly held her hands. She turned to look at me, and I said, "Big sister, please be careful, OK? You are so kind to me. Please, I will be praying for you."
Then she ruffled my hair and left. Well, my last move was a must because I needed something to reaffirm her belief.
After she left, I could hear her sneaking her way to her sister's tent. As soon as she left, I also left the tent and went to where the two guys were sleeping. I was so glad they were staying in the same tent, meaning they were brothers. They might not even sense me because I'm a mortal. Well, this sure has an advantage. I laughed.
I had been trying to make those spiked tentacles this past month, just like that voice did, but it wasn't easy. It wasn't as sharp as the one the voice used, nor is it as fast. But it was still sharp enough to cut a Spellweaver's body because I tried it with Aria. It did it, and swiftly. So this was kind of my trump card.
I was going to take care of these two myself. I had already marked their scent, so I followed it, got in front of their tent, and drew down the zip slowly. Then I got in. There wasn't any need for me to look for their heads because as soon as I got in, I could hear their breathing. Then I went closer without stepping on anything. The tent was dark, so it made no difference for me.
As soon as I got in range, feeling their breathing on my leg, I slashed the sharp part of the spike down fast. I could hear their grunts before they died. I didn't react much. My heart was beating like crazy because I wanted to make sure I was done with this.
I left the tent and made my way to Aria's side. I had already marked her scent, so it was easy for me to follow it. I walked from behind. My spikes were still out. Taking them out was easy, but putting them back hurt like hell, and I didn't want to suddenly collapse while doing it.
So I made my way there. I could hear slurping sounds. Either Aria was giving him a blowjob, or he was sucking her breasts. I couldn't tell. I just wanted to get this over with. I was almost there when I heard a shout from behind: "AMAYA!"
From the shout, I knew she had failed. This might be a perfect opportunity. I bent down. As soon as the leader heard it, I could hear him telling Aria, "Are those girls fighting again? I have to go back. We can continue this when they sleep off."
Then Aria replied, "OK."
From his late response and the time the sucking sound stopped, he was probably sucking Aria's breasts. Not like I cared. As soon as I heard his footsteps heading my way, I released two of my spikes to attack where I heard the sound from. He was quick to dodge one, but the last one got him in his stomach, due to it being a surprise attack.
Then I stood up and shouted, "Aria, now!"
She had already taken out her sword. Then the leader shouted, "You bastard!" and punched me straight in my chest. The impact was so strong that I flew back. Aria had already used this chance. Before he could turn back to defend himself, Aria beheaded him.
I hit the back of a tree, coughing blood. It felt like I was hit by a giant truck. I felt like I wanted to puke all my organs out. My head felt dizzy.
Why now? Aria had come to help me. My regeneration ability was already working. I didn't even let her finish before saying, "Go help that Amaya woman take down her sister."
Aria looked worried. She bit her lips, but she still left. After a while, I heard a shout, "Bitch! What did you do to Michael?" Then I could hear some clashing.
The reason why I didn't feel much pain or die due to the punch from the leader earlier was probably because I had already trained with Aria, with her punching me. I don't believe I am immortal, that I couldn't die. I'm just glad the leader didn't go straight for my head, because it would probably have exploded upon impact.
After a while, I stood up. I could feel my muscles tensing up, but I still struggled to stand up. I limped my way to the tent area. On getting there, I could feel all eyes on me, probably asking for an explanation. All of a sudden, I felt someone hug me, saying, "Little brother, are you OK? What happened? Did Michael attack you?"
I was wondering how dumb she could be. Hadn't she noticed I used her? But I didn't say anything. She probably got worried because of the blood on my clothes.
Then I looked in the direction where I heard heavy breathing. From the scent, I could tell she was the leader's partner. She probably had a sword stabbed in her. I was just surprised she wasn't dead yet.
Then I turned to Aria before turning to Amaya, saying, "Restrain her."
Amaya had a shocked expression on her face. I didn't care. Then Aria got into action. Due to the level gap, all it took from her was a few punches here and there before she was on her knees.
Then she shouted at Aria, "What are you doing, you bastard? James! Noah! You better come out now! These people are turning against us!"
Then Amaya's sister laughed, "Haven't you realized, you fool, that they are probably dead, and the true mastermind was the slave boy all along?"
She probably realized it but chose not to accept it. Then she turned to me, saying, "Junior brother, tell me she's lying."
Then I simply stared at her with no expression on my face.
Then she shouted, "YOU BASTARD! YOU MANIPULATED ME TO ALMOST KILL MY OWN SISTER! SO ALL THOSE THINGS YOU SAID ABOUT YOUR BROTHER OR YOURSELF WERE ALL LIES! DON'T YOU FEEL ANYTHING AT ALL, YOU BASTARD?"
I looked at her without any expression on my face. Then I simply said, "Why would a mundane task like this make me feel anything?"
Then I simply walked up to her. After getting closer, I bent down to her eye level, then said, "People are nothing but tools to me. All of them. I don't care what I have to do. I don't care what I have to sacrifice. In this world, surviving is everything. In the end, it's a common law that the strong prey on the weak, while in some cases, the weak control the strong. There's no law about surviving. All in all, do what you have to do to survive, and I'm doing just that."
