Chapter 68 - .68

Leng finished speaking with a look of regret. "It's a shame. I had just arranged to meet this guy, 1.9 meters tall with an eight-pack and a muscular build. Sigh, this outfit was meant for him, but now it's yours."

Danielle's face twitched slightly, and she distanced herself with some distaste. "This isn't something someone else wore, is it?"

"What are you thinking? This is brand new, just bought it. It cost me 50,000."

Wow, so expensive.

If the fabric were any more, it would've cost even more.

Danielle's eyes glinted as she moved closer to Leng. "You didn't buy these because the long, normal clothes were too expensive, did you?"

Leng's eyes widened. "Danielle!"

Danielle…

"Are you really that naive, or just pretending? These are way more expensive than the regular clothes. Do you understand?"

Danielle shook her head in confusion. "I don't understand. I'm just a country bumpkin."

"Sigh, you..." Leng looked at Danielle with a pitiful expression. "It's hard to believe you're the eldest daughter of the Duo family."

"Once upon a time," Danielle quickly explained.

Leng pressed Danielle's hands down, which had been wildly waving. "Once upon a time, sure. But your family doesn't have... that kind of place?"

"What place?" Danielle was genuinely confused, not pretending to be.

Just as Leng was about to say something, Zachary couldn't take it any longer. He walked over with a cold face and pulled Danielle away.

Danielle struggled unwillingly. "No, Leng wasn't finished talking yet."

When she turned around, Leng had stuck her tongue out and ran off.

What an ungrateful sister.

Zachary's neck veins bulged, and he tightened his grip on Danielle, pulling her into his embrace.

In a low voice, he whispered into Danielle's ear, "What? Are you unhappy with me?"

Danielle felt like her limbs weren't even her own anymore.

Thankfully, Zachary knew when to stop, and just as Danielle was about to lose her temper, he ended their little "battle."

Danielle stormed out with a dark face, and Leng raised an eyebrow in surprise. "What happened? Didn't get enough? I thought Zachary was in good shape."

"Go away."

Danielle threw the pile of chains and leather pants behind her, directly into Zachary's arms, who looked completely satisfied. She then staggered a little as she picked up the leather jacket, deciding to dress up as a rebellious biker.

Leng's outfit was neat and composed, especially the white skirt, though it was a bit too short.

Danielle couldn't help but look away, admiring the look, but she knew Zachary would never let her wear something like that.

What a jealous man.

She rubbed her sore waist and thought that it was probably better not to provoke him again for now.

When Feiyang came out, Danielle's eyes lit up.

"Wow, where did this little beauty come from?"

Feiyang's delicate face and the maid outfit suited him perfectly.

Leng immediately rushed over and pinched Feiyang's cheek. "Hey, Feiyang, have you considered giving me a chance? I'm pretty good, you know."

She skillfully started to pull open his outfit.

Feiyang, startled, took a few steps back. "Leng, Leng, I'm not like that. I want to find a good woman to marry."

Leng rolled her eyes and pushed him away. "Fine, I have principles. I don't mess with good boys."

She then turned to the two little kids and exclaimed, "Look at my little cuties!"

Danielle couldn't resist either and rushed to the kids. Though the outfits were short on adults, they fit the little ones perfectly and made them look incredibly cute.

Zachary stood by, looking at Danielle as she played with the kids, with a loving look in his eyes, completely ignoring the pitiful pleading in his son's eyes.

In the end, Feiyang couldn't hold back anymore and spoke up, "We should get going. I'm getting tired of being stuck in this small space."

Though it was safe inside, the place was small. After seeing it every day, it became boring, and humans, by nature, loved adventure.

For safety, the two kids were left behind in the space.

But as they were leaving, Zachary nearly stepped on an old man.

"Hey, who's this? Didn't you see there was someone here?"

The old man was truly old, with white hair and wrinkles all over his face, lying on the ground, hunched over.

However, none of them moved forward immediately. They all looked warily at the strange old man.

After all, ordinary people didn't live this long unless they were very wealthy.

Though it was harsh, it was the truth.

And the protective barrier of the Pure Land was far away from here. The old man seemed to have little strength, but how did he end up here?

It was too strange.

The old man kept groaning on the ground and, seeing that no one was moving to help, he angrily pointed at them and shouted, "You young people are too much. Don't you know you should help someone when you bump into them?"

Feiyang lowered his voice, speaking up, "I didn't sense anyone else's presence around here."

Zachary nodded. "Step back. I'll go check. If there's danger, hide right away."

Danielle nodded, gripping her weapon tightly.

Zachary cautiously approached the strange old man.

However, there was no sign of any danger, just the old man insisting on following them.

Danielle shook her head. "Old man, it's dangerous for you to follow us."

Danielle couldn't bring herself to harm an innocent person, especially one who seemed like a pitiful old man.
