Inside the spacious training hall, a black-haired boy, no older than seven or eight, slowly made his way forward.
"Today's graduation exam is the Clone Jutsu. Begin."
Iruka, the Chūnin proctor overseeing the test, adjusted the clipboard in his hands and spoke solemnly.

"He needs to create three clones to pass the Clone Jutsu… he…"
"Forget it—let's follow Lord Third's instructions and lower the passing criteria."
"Yeah… looks like we have no choice."
Iruka cleared his throat and raised his voice.
"Relo, pass! Come collect your genin forehead protector."
"I… passed?"
Relo stood there dumbfounded, then a realization clicked.
"Looks like the war really is about to break out. Even a dead-last like me can pass…"
He accepted the forehead protector, bowed his head in thanks, and walked out.
"Relo! You graduated?!"

She pushed open the exam room doors and ran inside with quick steps.
Relo watched her disappearing figure, murmuring under his breath.
"This is bad… I barely scraped by on the genin exam, the war's about to break out, and I've got no talent. I seriously need to find a way to get stronger…"
"First priority—Eight Gates Release Formation. It's brutal, but at least it'd keep me alive in the war. If that doesn't work… I might have to hunt down a forbidden jutsu…"
