Looking at Lin Yu's handsome face, and the smiles on Mitsy's and Shinchan's faces, Harry felt a little angry.
He worked hard outside, and this was the reward he got?!
Especially seeing the smiles on Mitsy's and Shinchan's faces, he became even more furious. It was one thing for Mitsy to be swayed by a handsome guy, but for Shinchan, that little rascal, to also switch sides!
The more Harry thought about it, the angrier he got. His square, typically "national character" face was pressed against the glass door of the living room's back garden, looking rather comical.
Shiro, lying in his doghouse, tilted his head, looking at Harry in confusion, wondering what this smelly-footed middle-aged man was doing.
Shinchan was happily chatting with Lin Yu when he suddenly felt a gaze on him. He shivered inexplicably and subconsciously looked towards the yard.
And there he saw it – Harry's face, somewhat distorted, pressed tightly against the glass door!
"Ah! It's appeared, the smelly-feet evil alien!" Shinchan quickly jumped up, seriously mimicking Action Kamen's moves, and went to the glass door.
"Action Beam! BiuBiuBiu...."
Seeing this, Harry, out of habit, subconsciously clutched his chest, looking pained, and fell backward, even imitating a monster's dying sounds.
"Argh! You darn Action Kamen..."
However, Harry seemed to have forgotten that there was a small step between the glass door and the yard. He lost his footing and fell directly into the yard.
This fall, however, reminded him of what he was supposed to be doing. His wonderful family was about to be destroyed; how could he have the time to play around with Shinchan here!
"Shinchan, is this the time for this?!"
"And Mitsy, what on earth is..."
Harry, climbing up from the ground, had a few blades of green grass stuck to him.
But before he could finish his sentence, he saw the glass door open, and Mitsy looking at him with a puzzled expression.
"Honey?"
"What are you doing in the yard? Hurry up and come in for dinner, we were just waiting for you."
Harry's words trailed off, a big question mark appearing in his mind. Things didn't seem to be as he thought...
He looked into the living room and saw Lin Yu politely smiling and nodding in greeting.
Harry quickly came to his senses. It seemed he had misunderstood something. He immediately forced a laugh.
"Coming, coming right away. I just wanted to play with Shinchan, give him a surprise."
Saying this, he hurried towards the main entrance. If Mitsy were to realize what he had been thinking just now, this cozy little home would probably be swept by a storm.
Thinking of Mitsy's angry, furious face, Harry shivered just like Shinchan had earlier. His low status in the family was crystal clear.
After changing his shoes and washing his hands, Harry came to the living room, smiling and greeting everyone.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't know we had a guest today. How rude of me."
"Oh, is that so? After dinner, I think we need to have a clear talk," Mitsy said with a gentle smile, but the well-hidden glint of coldness in her eyes and the undertone in her words sent a chill down Harry's spine.
Clearly, Mitsy had already figured out Harry's earlier petty thoughts. She worked hard taking care of the child at home, and Harry actually suspected her?
This matter had to be discussed thoroughly. Coincidentally, she had her eye on a fur coat at the department store for quite some time now...
Harry sat down with a dry laugh and smiled at Lin Yu. Fortunately, there was still a guest present; otherwise, Mitsy would have probably exploded by now.
"Mitsy, this is..."
"This is Lin-kun, who lives next door to us. Because of his work, we weren't very familiar before."
"He's also good friends with Nanako. Today, when I went to the beauty salon, Shinchan was well taken care of thanks to their help, and he even helped me bring Himawari all the way back..."
Hearing Mitsy explain the whole situation, Harry quickly thanked Lin Yu.
Back and forth, they quickly became much more familiar.
With Mitsy and Shinchan accompanying them, the meal was quite enjoyable.
Lin Yu and Harry also drank quite a bit, exchanging toasts. Perhaps Harry didn't want to face Mitsy's wrath so soon after the meal.
Unable to refuse Harry's enthusiastic offerings, Lin Yu drank cup after cup with him. By the end, Harry was already somewhat incoherent, grabbing Lin Yu and starting to call him "brother."
Seeing that the two were on the verge of getting drunk, Mitsy couldn't say much. After all, in front of an outsider, she had to give Harry some face.
Fortunately, Lin Yu's alcohol tolerance was better than Harry's; he remained clear-headed. As a former "corporate slave" in his previous life, Lin Yu had attended his fair share of social engagements.
Chinese white liquor was much stronger than sake; he could handle this kind of minor scene.
Seeing that it was about time, he prepared to take his leave. Otherwise, getting the male host drunk to the point of passing out on his first visit would be too impolite.
However, just as Lin Yu was about to leave, he was grabbed by Harry.
Even though he was already muddle-headed from drinking, his fear of Mitsy hadn't diminished in the slightest. Lin Yu was his last straw. He would rather drink himself into a stupor than face Mitsy's anger while sober.
Looking at the pleading expression in the eyes of this "Brother Harry," who had just been calling him brother, Lin Yu suppressed a laugh and righteously refused.
He made the excuse that he still had work unfinished and needed to go back and rush to complete it at night.
Amidst Harry's resentful gaze, he waved his sleeves, not taking a single cloud with him.
No sooner had Mitsy shown him out the front door than he heard Mitsy's furious roar from behind.
"Harry!"
Vaguely, he could still hear Harry's pleas for mercy and admission of fault, truly miserable.
A smile played on Lin Yu's lips as he walked away with light steps.
The peaceful and warm life of Shinchan's family was really nice. Sometimes, after being alone for a long time, one really longed for it.
But then, thinking about his current situation, Lin Yu shook his head.
Women would only hinder the speed of his drawing. Before achieving something, his focus still needed to be on his career.
This should be a man's romance!
Returning home, Lin Yu washed up, picked up his drawing pen, and began to work hard on his manuscript.
If you don't work hard, what's the difference between you and a salted fish (a metaphor for a lazy person or a deadbeat)? He was still looking forward to the lottery draw for a million reputation points!
