Moving the large stone blocking the entrance, Ryu Takeno decided to go outside.
Hiss hiss hiss~
His forked tongue constantly flicked, gathering information about other creatures. He avoided groups and targeted a lone frog.
Elroe Frog Monster, entirely green, about a meter long, uses a weak poison created through poison synthesis combined with an acid attack, with a fast attack speed. Its attack and defense are both under fifty.
Though a weak monster, Ryu Takeno didn't want to rush in. Getting that poison on him, and his flesh being corroded by acid, wouldn't be pleasant.
He wasn't sure if his dragon scales could withstand the acid, but it was best not to test it.
Snakes hunt by hiding and waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Ryu Takeno hid and waited for it to approach, then suddenly flung a large stone, hitting the unsuspecting frog.
Thwack!
The immense force smashed through the Frog Monster, killing it instantly.
A dignified snake, reduced to hunting by throwing rocks.
"Um… am I being too cautious?"
Ryu Takeno looked at the pulverized Elroe Frog Monster, wondering if he was being too cautious. He had such great power, yet he was so careful.
Here it comes…
After killing the Elroe Frog Monster, experience flowed into his body again. This time, he used the cultivation method to refine this energy into magical power.
…It worked.
Experience points were actually a form of spiritual energy. Under the system's magic, it automatically transformed into buffs for strength, defense, etc. When the creature was killed, the energy would be absorbed by its killer.
For leveling up, after learning the truth, Ryu Takeno lost interest. Self-improvement was far more reliable than the system's false enhancements.
Lack of interest in leveling up didn't mean he lost interest in experience and hunting monsters.
Experience was energy that helped him cultivate, far faster than slowly absorbing energy from the environment.
Hmm~ Taking others' power to improve his own… that's a villainous method… But this is another world, not a cultivation world, who cares!
He didn't eat the Elroe Frog Monster's corpse. Ryu Takeno continued hunting.
A frog less than a meter long, smashed to pieces by a meter-long rock, its remains splattered everywhere. Ryu Takeno didn't bother collecting them to eat; it would be a waste of time, and the amount wouldn't even fill his teeth.

Getting the Killer title, given his cautious approach, was expected.
Ryu Takeno chose his next prey: three small dinosaurs.
Known as the Inseparable Trio. These are 1.5-meter-long small dinosaur-like monsters. They always act in a group of three, using clever teamwork to overwhelm their enemies. They skillfully use their venomous fangs and claws to poison their opponents, slowly driving them to their doom.
Their stats were close to a hundred, but not quite in the triple digits.
The trio attacked as soon as they saw Ryu Takeno, scattering and charging from three different directions. One leaped high, aiming for his head, a distraction tactic.
The other two crept up from the sides, planning an ambush.
Whoosh~
They overestimated their strength. Ryu Takeno swept his tail, sending the one behind him flying. He felt energy flow in, meaning it died instantly.
Ryu Takeno opened his mouth, and the one that attacked his head went straight into his stomach.
What's that called? One-bite-to-the-stomach?
This is called service one-bite-to-the-stomach. No effort needed; just open your mouth and wait.
As for the last one, it fared a little better; its attack reached Ryu Takeno, but… it was like the spider swatted in the cave—mere tickling, unable to break his defenses, let alone hurt him.
Snake Monsters have over 300 defense, and with the Dragon Scales skill, his defense was even higher.
The trio's attack was under a hundred. They'd struggle to hunt ordinary snake monsters, let alone Ryu Takeno with Dragon Scales lv9. Their attacks couldn't even leave a scratch on his scales.
After swallowing the other two corpses in two bites, Ryu Takeno continued selecting prey.

After killing many monsters, he finally obtained the Monster Killer title. With the basic breathing technique, his body had significantly strengthened, feeling tense.
Like being crammed into a small space, his body felt constricted.
It seemed time to shed his skin.
Snakes usually shed their skin every two or three months, growing larger each time.
In the dark cave, without sunlight or anything to mark time, he had no sense of time passing.
