Damon Christopher bought his way to become the head of Maxwell International Holdings a corporation he hopes to establish and raise to the next level.
It was eight am and Damon was already seated in his office by his desk, Lord Springfield through the monthly report of the corporation.
"Impossible!" His temper flared as he rose to his feet, while staring at the errors of accounting that has been done.
He reached out to his cell phone and called the account department head, Miss Helen.
"Good Morning sir," The voice of the young woman came through the phone in a happy tone.
"What is this nonsense on my desk?" He asked, trying not to be easily triggered with rage, but he could not help it.
"I am sorry sir, I don't understand." She admitted confusedly.
"On my desk is a stupid figures which doesn't tally with what I had originally thought it could be. I need you to reach out to the rest of the people and inform them that I will need to see them for this explanation!"
"Yes sir. I…I will have them rectify it immediately."
"If they cannot give answers to this numbers on my desk, I will make sure to make their life a living hell!" He threatened before hanging up the phone.
As he dropped back to the chair, his eyes flashed across the beautiful picture of Alice Springfield smiling and waving at him.
Oh how he had always wanted to have his hands around this gorgeous woman. He would still do anything to make sure that she belongs to him.
We are not supposed to be Lord Springfield about her; we should be Lord Springfield about work!
Again, Damon became furious with himself as he realized how much of a fool he had become. It has been almost two years and Alice's beauty still hunted him.
One part of him hated her because she somehow had miraculously made him fall in love with her. Never had any woman done that to him.
She had betrayed his love and played him like a fickle card. She lied to her parents just to save herself and it was convenient for her to apportion blames to him when it was her who was hard headed, going to the bar despite his warning to her.
There is a sudden knock on the door, which caused Anthony to drop what he was doing and answer. It opens to reveal his best friend Martin.
"You look really pissed." Martin suggests.
"The people in my company are so dumb and it is so worrying." He said, flipping through the documents on his desk.
"Don't let it bother you that much; there are other pressing issues we need to discuss about." Martin pulled out his phone and dropped it on the desk.
Damon looked through the phone and once again, his temper flared almost causing him to drop the phone to the ground, but he took in a deep breath.
"That stupid old man needs to be thought a serious lesson Martin!" He said.
"Lord Springfield has been doing this type of activities for a long time Damon. We cannot easily take him out. Aside your father, he is the leading man in the Corporate community and we cannot take that away from him."
The news he had seen was a blockade to his goods coming through the eastern coast of Los Angeles. He was well aware that this blockade has been orchestrated by none other than Lord Springfield.
"There is other news as well." Martin said pulling his chair a little closer. "News going around is that Lord Mainz lost son has been found and he appears to have taken over Givenchy Enterprise as well as the Skull Corporate group of Los Angeles."
Damon reclined back to his chair, placing his hands on his chin and allowing him to be consumed by the several thoughts.
The arrival of Lord Mainz son means that his Corporate group and also his business would be threatened as well.
"What is his name?" Damon asked.
"Richard." Martins replied scrolling through his phone. "Here is a picture of the young man." He said, turning his phone to Damon.
He sat upright to see the familiar face on Martin's screen. "Wait a minute! I know this face." He said grabbing the phone from Martin and searching through his memory to recall where he had seen it.
"Oh Come on Damon, he has been non existent till these past weeks."
"Exactly, I saw him at Lord Springfield's manor when I went to confront him." Damon said, staring down at the picture once again. "What could he possibly be doing with Lord Springfield?" Richard asked, more to himself than Martin.
"Possibly he wants the old man to help him with some advice, he is still new to this work remember?" Martin suggested with a shrug.
"No, it goes beyond that." Damon said, trying to connect the dots together. "What is see is that he is trying to marry off Alice Springfield to Richard, so his empire could be bigger."
"That greedy old man!" Martins expressed, also seeing the bigger picture as well. "If his Corporate group and that of Lord Mainz's son were to be merged together, they will become a possible threat and it only means that when he dies, Richard becomes the head of the table."
Damon rose to his feet and picked up his suit.
"Where are you going?" Martins asked, also standing up with his friend.
"I cannot allow such a thing happen. It will be fatal to us." He grabbed his phone and walked out of his desk.
"And what exactly do you plan to do." Martin asked.
"Lord Springfield has few years left in his life before he passes on. His daughter is yet to be married but such an alliance could happen. I must stop it." Damon declared.
"But how?"
"Oh just watch and see Martin." He smiled, a plan Lord Springfield up in his head.
While heading back to his car, Damon checked his phone and realized his father is on the line.
"Hello father." He said, hoping into his vehicle.
"Why has Lord Springfield chosen to be a pain on our neck?"
"I don't know father. The only reason why that old man is not dead is because of the respect I have for you." Damon admitted.
"You and Ethan will need to sit down and talk about it. He is at home with his wife and I think it will be the appropriate time."
After Lord Christopher hanged up the phone, Damon took a deep breath. It is true that he
and his brother has not been best of friends, but he still believes something could be worked out.
