The Thirst of the Heart
The car was slowly making its way toward the Abu Dhabi Corniche and the Viewpoint.
Outside, thunder continued to rumble from time to time, as if nature itself were composing the background melody to their silent story of affection.
Resting his head tiredly on Ramish's shoulder, together, they gazed outside for a few moments, where a glimpse of the sea was visible through the window, and the soft sunlight filtering through the clouds made the scene even more enchanting.
After watching silently like that for a few moments, Richer said softly,
"Ramish... I'm really thirsty. My throat feels completely dry."
Without hesitation, Ramish opened a bottle of water and handed it to him.
"Why were you enduring your thirst for so long? You should have told me. I would have gotten the water for you earlier."
After taking a few sips, Richer let out a relieved breath and smiled.
"I only started feeling this thirsty after sitting in the car."
OK, "Come on; drink your water calmly now."
After finishing, Richer closed the bottle and offered it to Ramish.
"Here, you should drink too a water. You must be thirsty as well."
With a playful smile, Ramish replied,
"I'm only thirsty for you... Tell me, when will that thirst ever be quenched?"
Richer's eyes widened in surprise. Gently nudging him with his elbow, he said,
"That thirst may never be satisfied... but you can at least satisfy your real thirst by drinking some water."
Ramish laughed.
"Then give it to me drink with your own hands."
Richer placed the bottle in his hand.
"No. Drink it yourself."
Like a stubborn child, Ramish replied,
"If I drink water, it will only be from your hands."
Instead of agreeing, Richer shook his head in refusal. Pretending to be upset, Ramish closed the bottle and placed it beside the car door.
Richer laughed.
"What kind of childishness is this?"
"This isn't childishness," Ramish answered innocently. "It's love."
Richer smiled.
"There is no room for stubbornness in love."
Outside, the palm trees along the distant corniche were swaying in the breeze—as if nature itself were relishing the playful bickering between the two of them.
Ramish smiled back.
"You're right. True love isn't about being stubborn...
But you can show your tantrums to the person you love.
"And besides..."
"...you're here to fulfill all my little demands. Are not you?
Unable to stop himself, Richer smiled and shook his head, and the two soon became absorbed in conversation again.
A few moments later, Ramish suddenly began coughing.
Richer immediately straightened up.
"What happened? Are you alright?"
Ramish coughed lightly.
"I'm fine... My throat has also become dry."
Richer said immediately,
"Then drink some water."
Ramish looked at him silently, then picked up the water bottle and held it out to him.
Taking a deep breath, Richer opened the bottle cap and personally helped him to drink water.
"You really are very stubborn, Ramish."
"Remember," Richer continued, "stubbornness can weaken relationships."
Ramish smiled.
"If love is genuine, every little stubborn wish can be fulfilled with a smile."
Then, while drinking water, Ramish gently rested his hand over Richer's hand.
For a brief moment, Richer forgot to breathe. His hand trembled slightly, causing some water to spill onto Ramish's shirt.
"Oh... I'm so sorry!"
Quickly taking out some tissues, Richer hurried to wipe the water away.
Ramish watched him quietly before smiling.
"Don't worry. It's only water. It'll dry in a few minutes."
"No," Richer insisted. "You should change your shirt. "It has been gotten wet.
He tried to pull his hand back away, but Ramish held it for a brief moment, as though drawing comfort from its warmth.
Richer's ears flushed, and his heartbeat became uneven.
He pulled his hand back away a bit forcefully, then took another shirt out of the bag and, extending it towards him, said,
"Here, put wear this on."
Accepting it with a mischievous grin, Ramish asked,
"Aren't you going to help me change?"
Richer looked at him with raised eyebrows and gestured,
"Quietly change it yourself."
Ramish chuckled and slowly began changing his shirt.
For a brief moment, Richer's eyes remained fixed on him.
Outside, the cool wind grew stronger, and thunder echoed across the sky once again.
A flash of lightning illuminated the inside of the car for a single moment. In that brief light, Ramish's face and his body appeared even more beautiful. Seeing this, Richer's cheeks and ears grew warm, and he quickly lowered his gaze.
After changing, Ramish deliberately left the buttons of his shirt undone.
"There... I'm finished. You can look now."
Richer glanced at him and sighed.
"Your buttons are still undone..."
Smiling, Ramish replied,
I want you to close all button them with your own hands.
"What childish behavior, Ramish."
Nevertheless, Richer leaned forward and quietly fastened the buttons one by one.
When he was done, he looked at him and smiled.
"You've become very mischievous."
At that very moment, the manager glanced at them through the rear-view mirror and remarked with a smile,
"By the way, Sir Ramish, you seem to be in very good shape."
Richer immediately replied in a firm tone,
"Please keep your attention on the road."
The manager smiled apologetically and focused on driving again.
Ramesh smiled upon seeing all this and, leaning forward, gently kissed Richer on the cheek.
Thank you for done my all button, Ramish said,
Richer pointed towards the manager and said that he was watching.
Just then, the car slowly came to a stop at the beautiful Abu Dhabi Corniche Viewpoint.
Before them stretched the deep blue sea, while towering skyscrapers rose on the opposite side. Beneath the golden light of the fading evening and the distant rumble of thunder, the scenery looked breathtaking.
They quietly looked at one another, both feeling that their journey was not ending here...
It felt as though it was only the beginning of a new chapter in their hearts.
Beautiful lines for love,
Perhaps the breeze has heard the secret of our love,
Look... what a beautiful season has descended upon the city today.
