Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO

"Adonis, what the hell are you saying?" She said, her voice slightly shaking.

"I know you're having an affair with Alex." I moved closer and placed my hands on each side of the chair trapping her beneath me.

"I am not cheating on you with your cousin or anyone for that matter!" She replied, her eyes defiant. "I can't believe you are actually questioning my commitment and love for you."

"So Viktor just made it up then."

She scoffed. "I've warned you to stop listening to everything that bastard feeds you." She placed her hand on my face and rubbed her thumb softly on my cheek. "I love you, and only you Adonis. You saved me and loved me at my worst, how could I ever betray you?"

I stared into her bright green eyes as they pulled me into her earthly warmth. They reminded me of nature, the lazy days we'd go to the park and do nothing but lie down in each other's arms, laughing and talking about nothing in particular, the days when I couldn't ask for anything more because she was all I needed.

There was a heavy conflict going on between my heart and my head and all it took to remind me of where I stood was the video from earlier. The words she had spouted to another man. That was enough to push my doubt away.

I stood upright, letting her hand drop. "Then I guess he also made this video up." I picked up the tablet from my desk, and handed it to her. "Photoshopped it maybe?"

She stared at it before looking up at me. "Adonis." She said softly.

"Shut up and play the video, then I want to hear your excuse." I said sharply.

Her faced paled the moment her face showed up on the screen. Her eyes widened and her mouth fell open as her moans filled the room, she turned it off and stood up abruptly.

"Adonis, I can explain" Tears filled her eyes as her lips wobbled. "He forced me, I swear, he threatened to hurt me, to hurt Thanasis, I had no choice."

"He threatened to hurt you? If he threatened to hurt you then why didn't you tell me? I would have killed him on the fucking spot!" I yelled.

"I was scared, he told me not to tell you, told me he'd hurt you, I did it for you. I did it because I loved you."

Lies, lies, lies. My blood boiled with every single word that came out of her mouth.

"You didn't look like you were forced though, you had even bought lingeries to try on for him."

She fell silent, tears streaming uncontrollably down her face.

"Adonis, you have to believe me. I didn't want to do that, I was just so lonely and he happened to be there and…"

"Enough!!" I threw a vase towards her direction but she ducked and it shattered loudly on the wall. "Every single word that comes out of your mouth is a filthy lie! Do you think I'm some fool! You enjoyed every bit of your time with Alex so don't you dare deny it!"

"Adonis.." She breathed.

I took a deep breath, trying to control my anger. "How long?" I whispered.

"What?"

"How long has it been going on?" I asked, my voice dangerously calm.

"Adonis please." She pleaded.

"How long Summer or I will kill you right here and now!" I snapped

She took a fearful step back, believing my words. "Two years and a couple of months." She whispered.

"Two years and a couple of months." I breathed out, unable to believe my ears. "You have been having an affair with my cousin for two years, Summer!"

Her eyes darted to the floor. "I'm sorry Adonis, Please forgive me. I'll end things with him, I'll never see him again."

I walked towards her while she took fearful steps back until she hit a wall.

"I don't need your empty promises because I'm sure that you won't ever see him again Summer." I said.

She looked up at me, understanding my tone. "What did you do to him?"

I stroked her hair and watched as she shivered at my touch. "What I would have done to you if you weren't the mother of my child."

She searched my face hoping to see a different answer. "Adonis what did you do?"

I backed away from her and pulled out my phone from my pocket. "You are not allowed to leave this house or make contact with anyone outside this house."

She fell to her knees. "No please! You can't lock me up!"

"And when Thanasis is of age, I will get rid of you appropriately."

She crawled towards me, her hands tight on my leg. "Please Adonis, I'm sorry! Forgive me please! Do this for our child!"

I crouched to her and faced her. "It is because of our child that you are alive."

A moment later the door opened and Viktor walked in.

"Where is Thanasis?" I asked

"Out in the garden with the nanny."

"Good, lock her in her room and make sure she has no contact with anybody outside that room including Thanasis." I stood up and kicked her off me.

"Adonis please!!" She yelled as Victor picked her from the floor.

I stared coldly at her as she struggled to escape from his grasp but he had held her too tight.

"Adonis!" Her teary green eyes pleaded one last time before the door shut closed.

I waited until I couldn't hear her screams and cries, until it was utter silence. Only then, did I let it all sink in.

I settled down on the chair beside me and stared into the fireplace.

"Two years and a couple of months." I mumbled, a sharp pain gnawing at my chest.

I had met Summer three years ago which meant she had been cheating on me a couple of months after we met. The realization that she had been secretly doing this under my nose stung harder.

Everything we had been was a lie, a joke. Her and Alex must have found it amusing sneaking behind my back. I had trusted them both and they had shoved it right back at my face.

The worse part was that I still loved her, even with all that I've figured out. My chest burned seeing her cry, kicking her off me, hurting her.

A knock on the door disrupted me from my thoughts. It was Viktor.

"Is she okay?" I asked, trying to keep the concern out of my voice.

"I made sure not to hurt her in any way." He replied.

I kept my attention to the flames. "Did you find Alex?"

"We are still looking for him, so far he isn't in any of his usual joints." Viktor said. "Why don't you try calling him over, I doubt he knows you know anything."

I kept my attention to the flames. "Oh he knows. The fact that I sent out men to look for him, he'd suspect something is wrong and go into hiding. He's a cunning cowardly bastard like that, always planning something."

Nevertheless, I picked up my phone from my desk and dialed his number and it went straight to voicemail.

"Hey, this is Alex. I'm not at the phone right now but leave a message. Beep!"

The sound of his voice sent ripples of rage through me.

"I don't care if you turn this city upside down, find him and bring him to me!" I snapped.

"Yes sir." He walked out of the study immediately leaving me to brood on my thoughts.
