Chapter 1:
I wasn't magically killed by a bus while trying to save a kid or an elder crossing the road. No, my father wasn't a dark lord or one of the strongest warriors….. Or was he ? nah he's just a big bi- *cough* bearable loving father.
My mother on the other hand. Believe it or not was one of the four legendary goddesses and the only one to grace this earth. Iris. She's also one of the reasons why this shithole…. I mean beautiful place has magic... Because of her overwhelming flow of pure light mana. The forests, seas, volcanos, mountains and rivers all over the world began forming mana crystals, releasing all different types of elemental mana which caused a reaction within ten percent of the population's bodies.….granting them extraordinary powers and abilities. These people are often referred to as the 'Awakened'.
All of this is just public knowledge I'm regurgitating however, because unfortunately, I have never actually met my mother. Only read about her, heard about her from my father a lot and I also have some of her memories. She seemed so lovely yet badass unlike him….but enough about him. My mother was always the most troublesome and playful out of the bunch which often infuriated her three older sisters especially while knowing neither of them possessed the ability to defeat her because her strength was unparalleled.
The prodigal daughter of God himself...regardless of her accomplishments and status, she committed the most dreadful, vile, atrocious and repulsive sin you can as a supreme being...which was falling in love with my father.
No Goddess had the power to make themselves visible to humans. However, my mother asked God if she could live on earth and experience life as a human for one year. Although he was hesitant, God had a soft spot for Iris. Seeing as she was his predecessor. He just gave her two conditions
One: To win against her sisters all at once in a fierce battle.
Two: Not to bear children for a human, because she would die from the impure mana properties entering her body and the child will also be impure.…the first condition was met with ease and the second condition.... just from by looking at me...you can clearly see she didn't listen...
My mother was the most beautiful human anyone had ever seen. Long, flowing white curly hair, freckles, white eyes and light brown skin… of-course instead of going with a billionaire and making me set for life. She chose my dad. Why you may ask…. I'll have to admit he is good looking, lean muscular build, brown eyes, short dark brown hair and tan skin... but that wasn't what persuaded her.
She first saw my father (an un-awakened firefighter) saving an un-awakened child from a house burning in magical flames even while knowing that he could potentially die from those flames and only be able to save the kid, he still dived in head first. My mother had her powers while on earth so she cloaked herself, My father and the little girl, preventing them from taking any damage all while making him look like a hero. She grew a liking to my father after his act of selflessness and bravery. Using the knowledge of the world she gained from watching television...my mother decided to do the most cliche, rom-com move to ever exist despite being the most fearless and dominant Goddess that ever lived...
She appeared in-front of him, tripped on air and pretended to fall in hopes that he will catch her.....Let's just say….she ended up falling , getting up and whacking him in the head with her purse... After realizing her intentions, he quickly apologized and offered to take her out for dinner and a drink as compensation...she agreed but she and liquor did not agree....Surprisingly enough, my mother was a real lightweight that loved to sing and spoke her mind when she was drunk….. After a festive night and my mother knocking out cold .
He took her to his home to get some rest seeing as he didn't actually know where she was from. He tuck her into the bed and slept on the couch. Ever since that day, they became awfully close like two peas in a pod and after a while she decided to reveal her true identity to him and how she ended up on earth...withholding the fact of what would happen to her if she was ever to bare a child for a human...believing that she'll only be here for a year and not being able to predict that she will fall in love with him.
Surprisingly ,he wasn't fazed at all because he was already head over heels for her. Without a second thought he promised to keep her identity a secret to prevent an uproar on this earth. Soon after, my mother became pregnant with me. They were overjoyed at the thought of having a child together. However, that happiness was only temporary. My mother began losing her magic significantly, looking more and more pale and sickly over the next few months.
My father began panicking and took her to the healers and doctors all over the country but nobody had any idea what was wrong with her. Despite feeling defeated and helpless with no where left to turn...all hope lost.. he decided to at-least bring her happiness for the rest of her time on earth, in hopes of her illness being an effect of her being away from her homeland for too long... His efforts were proven to be futile as her condition worsened...now she had only one month left on earth and one month left before I was born.
Accepting the reality that she didn't have much longer to live...she told him the consequences she would face when bearing a child for a human. His mind went blank, he couldn't even think in that moment. The silence echoing in the room was loud. He didn't know if to feel angry, sad or frustrated….it then began feeling like if he was losing his mind but my mother wished to be happy with him for the last of her days and for me to be born as a result of their love for each other and the happiest year of her entire life.
One day left before I was born. They decided to go back to where they first met and replay that night.... She appeared in-front of him, tripped on air and pretended to fall but this time he caught her. She still whacked him on the head with her purse and they went for dinner and a drink once more. She was pregnant so she couldn't drink but still pretended to be drunk , they sang together and she spoke her mind and then knocked out cold. He took her to his home because he had no idea where she was from. He tucked her into his bed and he slept on the couch.
The next morning, I was born and her last words were "Always remember me and be the light in this world even though I never could." I was named after her. This is the beginning of my story. The beginning of the greatest mage to ever live . The rise of the fallen goddess. Iris Leos
