Chaos unravelled as they approached the airport. It was busy and riddled with armed police. They wandered through the crowd and checked in their bags. Straight through security and into the VIP Lounge to find out their flight had been delayed. "Excuse me sir, what's happening?" Mia asked the man at the desk, his head was bald and his beard was dark and bushy. "I'm afraid we had a bomb threat last night, the most recent update is nothing has been found and the man has been arrested and detained for now, we are hoping to get the planes back up in the air as soon as possible, we are probably around 16 hours behind but catching up quickly." Mia turned to Lauren both with a look of horror on their faces. "Is there any way of getting on a sooner flight if we buy more tickets?" Lauren asked oblivious to the threat of a bomb. "I'm not sure, let me make some phone calls in the back and check what's available." He walked into the back room as Lauren and Mia turned to each other. "What are we going to do?" Mia said as her heart sank, she knew something was going to go wrong.
After a long five minutes he returned, he tapped away on the computer and turned to face them. "Here are your tickets, you've been upgraded and the price nullified, you should also receive refund for your previous tickets within the next 48 hours. your flight leaves first, in around two hours. You will need to be at the gate thirty minutes beforehand. Hope you have a lovely flight." Both their jaws dropped at the news as Mia's head went into overdrive. "I don't get it, I'm not ungrateful believe me but why do we get these tickets when surely more important people have been waiting longer?" He smiled. "We had a large cash and private jet donation earlier from a sponsor. He specifically said to give it to those who would not expect it, I guess your just lucky he decided it would be you two." He passed them their tickets and details for the flight and sent them on their way. Mia was shocked to her core and anxious while Lauren was over the moon. One carefree spirt and one over thinker. But no matter how much Mia worried or thought the worst, she knew she would never back down. She shoved the feelings down and buried them under everything leaving her feeling refreshed and ready to party.
A private jet was a blissful luxury. They spent their long journey across the Atlantic Ocean laughing and drinking. Eating the beautifully prepared food and drinking freshly squeezed orange juice. They watched a film together and soon enough they were exhausted, after two hours of waiting in the VIP lounge and lots of jokes and fun they were ready to bunk down in the private beds for a few hours before the flight landed. They climbed into the private beds and slowly drifted off to sleep. Mia felt refreshed as the staff brought her a hot towel for her face as she woke up. Lauren opened up her mini sleep pod and stretched out. "They don't consider when people sleep they might want to lay fully flat!". Mia looked at her and rolled her eyes, "You can't complain, we were originally booked into economy seats. And I could barely afford that, I'm pretty thankful I will get the money back." Mia sighed and laughed with her. Lauren touched up her daytime makeup and repacked her things. The announcement rang, gently reminding everyone on board that the flight would land in twenty minutes and to be ready to disembark the plane, the weather was pleasantly warm in Las Vegas today.
"That was an interesting twelve hours, I don't get what's happening but I'm down for it." Mia laughed as they put their belts on for landing. After the plane landed extremely smoothly they grabbed their carry on bags and headed through the exit to be hit with a beautiful warm breeze and bright blue skies. Rushing to the baggage claim, they grabbed their bags and went to leave. As they left they saw a man in a suit with a board, with their names written on it. The girls squealed internally with glee as they looked at each other. "Before you ask, no I don't think our hotel room normally comes with a personal driver, just hurry up and stop asking questions before it stops!" Lauren walked up to the driver and greeted him, adding an extra slice of flirt cake as they walked to the car. They were being picked up in a stunning matt black Bentley, it was vintage and sounded expensive. Full of modifications and upgrades. It roared to life as the handsome driver took our bags and placed them in the boot of the car. Being in the back of such an amazing car made the girls happy, they hoped for more good luck this trip. The driver welcomed them with a glass of champagne and took his seat, the drive was filled with beautiful views of the city and excitement.
Arriving at the casino hotel the girls were taken back by its pure beauty, it wasn't tacky like other cheap casinos, it was elegant and beautiful. Modern and simple. The entrance hall was ancient in architecture but rich in modern furniture dotted around. Centred around a large grand piano, chair's scattered around for people to watch who ever was twinkling their fingers upon its keys. Beyond was a grand staircase, a vintage red carpet carefully maintained and placed upon its steps. They walked to the front desk with the driver in tow behind carrying their bags. "Booking under Croft?" Lauren said as she pulled out her phone for the booking confirmation email. "Oh hello ma'am, here is your key. We have swapped your room as the booking somehow got cancelled out but the money still came through. Here are your keys and the WiFi code is on the back of the book. We hope you have a wonderful stay here at the Dark Angel Casino." she passed Lauren the set of keys and a staff member grabbed their bags and escorted us up, all the way up. To the guest penthouse.
