Chapter 19 - Everything was fine—until it wasn’t.

To him, it sounded like a lie. And worse, it fit into the impression he was already forming about her.

"You knew about this, didn't you?" His voice was colder than she had ever heard before.

"No, I swear, I had no idea," she insisted, confused by his sudden change in tone.

But he wasn't convinced.

And then came the words that knocked the breath out of her.

"Me and you… we're different people, Somi. You're a party girl. I'm a homebody. Let's just break up."

Just like that.

She had barely stepped into her room and hadn't even untied her shoes when her world flipped upside down. 💔

It hit her like a storm she never saw coming. One moment, she was walking through her door, and the next, she was crumbling.

Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably, her body shaking with sobs she couldn't hold back. 😢

Was it because it was so unexpected?

Or was it because, for the first time, she was truly heartbroken?

D had always reassured her, time and time again—

"Don't worry, no matter what, I will never hurt you."

And yet, here she was, hurting in ways she never thought possible.

And the worst part? The reason felt so... baseless.

An hour later—or maybe even less—her phone buzzed.

It was him.

With shaky hands, she picked up. 📱💔

His voice was softer this time, hesitant. "I'm sorry," he said. "I didn't mean to be so harsh on you. Maybe it was the impression I got… or maybe it was my own insecurities. But I shouldn't have reacted that way."

Somi sat there in silence, her emotions still raw.

She wanted to say something, but what could she say?

That she had just spent the last hour crying her heart out? That his words had cut deeper than she ever expected?

She swallowed hard, trying to steady her voice. "Then why did you?" she finally whispered.

He had no answer for that. No explanation. No justification.

Just silence. 😞

That night, as always, they stayed on the phone for hours—until their O2 SIM cards disconnected the call automatically after two hours.

It had become their thing.

No need to say goodbye.

No need to hang up.

Just two people falling asleep to the sound of each other's breathing, like an unspoken promise that they would still be there in the morning.

And somehow, that felt like enough. ❤️✨

As usual, Somi was working her Monday evening shift at the sushi restaurant. 🍣 She was cheerful, moving between tables with ease, chatting with her colleagues, and doing what she always did—making the best of her day.

But inside, she was also excited. She hadn't spoken to D properly today, and it was already getting late. She always made sure to take extra time for their conversations, knowing he went to bed early.

"I just need a little time to talk to my boyfriend before he sleeps," she told her coworkers with a small, excited smile.
