Chapter 13 - The Killer Emerges!

When Chi Mu realized the two bodies had vanished, he didn't feel surprised—he already had his own suspicions.

— "Huh? Where did the bodies go?"

— "From the moment Chi Mu ran back to his room to when he checked again, less than ten minutes had passed. And yet the corpses disappeared without a trace?"

Chi Mu scanned the hallway but saw no signs—no footprints, no dragged marks.

Moving two bodies out of the storage room in such a short time would be an incredibly difficult feat.

Originally, Chi Mu wanted to go downstairs to check the surveillance footage, but fearing the killer might catch on, he abandoned the plan.

"Ugh… I have to get out of here—now!"

Chi Mu realized he could no longer be alone anywhere. The real murderer was already watching him. Being isolated now was like handing the killer the perfect opportunity to silence him forever.

Back in the room, Yang Qu had just finished blow-drying her hair. She tilted her head and asked, "Chi Mu, why were you rushing around just now?"

"Oh, I—"

Chi Mu scrambled to find a decent excuse that wouldn't outright lie to Yang Qu.

But then he suddenly noticed the female cleaner bent over on the balcony, busy cleaning.

"Babe, why did you let the cleaner in?" Chi Mu asked suspiciously.

Yang Qu glanced toward the balcony and teased, "Well, didn't you forget to close the window? The heavy rain flooded the balcony, so I asked the cleaning lady to tidy it up…"

It was the same cleaning lady Chi Mu had seen that morning.

Chi Mu fixed his gaze on her and detected something off.

"Sir, Miss… would you like me to clean inside the bedroom as well?" the cleaner asked politely.

Chi Mu quickly refused, "No, no need. Just finish the balcony and then you can leave."

"Alright."

After finishing the balcony, the woman cast a long, eerie smile at Chi Mu before leaving.

Chi Mu looked toward the bedroom she wanted to clean—that was where the company boss's corpse was hidden. If she found it… that would be a disaster.

Evening came fast. Yang Qu curled up on the bed watching TV as thunder roared outside and the rain showed no sign of stopping.

"Chi Mu, I'm a little hungry. Can you go get me something to eat?"

Chi Mu hesitated, "What do you want? I can order delivery…"

"No way! Delivery's too slow. I want to eat now. Chi Mu, please go get it for me!"

"It's still raining outside, I—"

Chi Mu tried to refuse again, but Yang Qu's expression twisted into something frightening, her face showing early signs of mutation. Terrified, Chi Mu quickly relented.

"Alright, I'll go get it right now!"

Yang Qu's lips, previously stretched wide in a smile, returned to a sweet grin aimed at Chi Mu.

— "This is bad, bad! This woman is truly hopeless! Now she's making Chi Mu go out in this weather—she's basically sending him to his death!"

— "The difficulty of this mission is ramping up. The killer must be hiding somewhere, waiting for the perfect moment to strike Chi Mu down."

— "Chi Mu, you must survive! If you die, this nightmare will descend on Dragon Country!"

Viewers in the livestream and members of the Dragon Country advisory team all worried deeply.

The killer was still at large, his true identity unknown. Chi Mu going out alone instantly doubled his risk.

Reluctantly, Chi Mu stepped out, staring down the empty hallway with no confidence.

At first, he had planned to stay put with Yang Qu, finishing the A-level mission safely in the room.

Now, that was impossible. He had no idea how many times Yang Qu would order him out in the coming days—and every trip out carried deadly risk.

Surviving seven days wasn't looking possible.

"Wait, the hotel has a restaurant—I was just thinking where to get food."

Checking the hotel layout, Chi Mu saw the restaurant was on the second floor.

Upon arriving, he found plenty of guests dining, and breathed a sigh of relief. No matter how bold the killer was, he wouldn't dare attack in such a crowded place.

Chi Mu bought a pork rib meal and was about to head back.

But the atmosphere suddenly grew quiet.

Chi Mu's gaze swept across the diners—and he saw their expressions had turned strange, some even shedding bloody tears.

"Shit!"

Not only the guests, but many waiters had become bizarre too. Everyone in the restaurant stared right at him.

Chi Mu instantly knew—they were all infected, and the contamination was worsening. If he didn't uncover the truth and escape soon, they'd attack and devour him!

— "The entire hotel is infected. If Chi Mu doesn't solve the mystery and flee, he's doomed to be eaten alive by these corrupted guests!"

— "Meanwhile, in Myanmar, Li Saigao seems to have uncovered the truth. He's gathering evidence and preparing to leave!"

— "Hahaha, you foolish Dragon Country folks, only Myanmar will claim the final victory!"

Everyone in the restaurant stood up, their steps slow but deliberate as they closed in on Chi Mu.

Terrified, Chi Mu bolted into the elevator, wildly pressing the button for the ninth floor.

After the disappearance of Ah Jiu's mother's corpse from the storage room, everyone in the hotel had been infected—and the contamination kept spreading.

If Chi Mu didn't get out tonight, the infected guests would devour him before the killer even got a chance.

In Myanmar's livestream, viewers cheered for Li Saigao.

As a crime syndicate boss with brilliant analytical skills, Li Saigao had already written down his conclusions.

"This ghost story mission is nothing. All I have to do now is escape the hotel with this proof!"

Overjoyed, Li Saigao prepared to leave immediately. He just needed to find a way to get Yang Qu to willingly let him go.

"Li Saigao, what are you holding?" Yang Qu asked suspiciously.

Without hesitation, Li Saigao said, "Baby, I'm thinking of stepping out for a bit."

"Oh? Then bring me back some dinner, okay?"

Li Saigao was overjoyed. He had expected a long negotiation with Yang Qu, had even prepared truthful excuses not to lie. But she agreed so easily.

And asking for dinner was essentially permission for him to leave!

He stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor.

Just as the doors were about to close, a pair of hands suddenly reached inside and stopped them.

"You!"

"Wait, wait! Don't kill me! Don't kill me!"

Before Li Saigao could react, he tried to escape, but the cramped elevator left him nowhere to hide.

"Die!"

A sharp dagger plunged into Li Saigao's chest. His eyes widened in shock as blood poured out, and he instantly lost consciousness...

The killer pulled a note from Li Saigao's pocket. After reading it, he sneered.

"Never thought you'd discover my identity..."

Then, he set the paper ablaze.

Myanmar's chosen one, Li Saigao, was dead. The nightmare was about to descend on Myanmar.
