Chapter 1 - Ch1: Prologue, I guess?

{POV - ???}

Nothing.

That is what I am surrounded by.

It feels like standing in complete darkness where even with open eyes yet cannot see anything.

But that is not an accurate description for this place.

Looking down I can still clearly see myself.

My chest, my legs, my hands.

All still here as if the light level hasn't changed at all from the sunny summer day it just was mere moments ago.

I definitely did not fall asleep from the heat as my mind is too clear for that.

Even if my brain is not trustworthy in this moment, I just know it to be true for some reason.

The only thing seperating me from this void and the only source(?) of light that is available in this complete darkness is computer on a desk standing ominously two meters from me.

I cautiously take a few steps backwards with my hands trying to feel behind me.

Eventually my hands collide with something hard and smooth like polished stone.

Turning my head I met with more darkness.

Feeling around I feel more of that same sensation.

Moving around this space a bit while constantly feeling the surface of whatever invisible wall I found I come to the conclusion that I'm trapped in a room made of unnatural material.

Touching the ground confirms it to be of the same material as the walls as they possess the same sensation.

A ceiling most likely also exists that is made out of the same material.

How am I breathing then?

Who knows.

This left the computer and table as the only thing left to inspect.

Slowly but steadily I approached it.

I could tell it was in the middle of this room once I was done with mapping out the size of it.

The table itself was nothing out of the ordinary.

Made out of a generic looking wood probably oak.

The computer however already stood out a lot more.

It looked old.

Not old in the way that it has been used for a long time, it looked brand new in that regard, but its modal was old.

It was a white box big enough to cause death if used as a bludgeoning weapon.

That's the kind of old it was.

Connected to it where a keyboard and mouse of equal age as both looked chunky and were made out of white plastic.

And of course it was turned on.

However instead the expected open tab, website, or home screen what greeted me was a sight I didn't really expect.

A photo realistic sight of space was on the screen in such a quality that you could convince someone it was in 4K.

The cosmic sight wasn't even stagnant but constantly moving around slowly.

What was more eye catching however was that there was something written in big letters as if it were a video game title.

'Jumpchain'.

That was what was written on there.

I instantly recognised that word.

On its own it was just a combination of the words Jump and Chain but to a select fraction of the internet it held a certain significance.

It was the name of a hobby of mine that I was taken part in for the better of two years.

It was a sub-hobby of CYOA's (Choose Your own Adventure).

CYOA's is something of a genre that originated from books that were marked with pages that described scenarios and possible decisions the reader could take.

Once the reader chose an option they would go to a page that was listed next to the decision they chose to take where they then were revealed how the decision turned out and the next parts of the story where they could make choices.

This is how the genre started but once technology developed and video games where made the fundamental aspects of CYOA were integrated into video games with choice system such as RPG's and Visual Novels.

However there were also another separate aspect that was born once the internet and its communities started popping up.

These kinds of CYOA's were files and documents filled with texts (required) and pictures (optional) that gave the readers certain scenarios such as being summoned to another world which was one of the most modern examples and multiple choices for abilities, items and even other things such as species that could be chosen in exchange for a limited source of resources that was given to the reader for these choices.

This was mostly where it ended with the main attraction of these kinds of things being for those who liked to imagine different scenarios in their heads and liked to daydream about them.

Thus it created an ecosystem of people being creative in creating their own CYOA's for others and people who liked to go through them for fantasising.

This is important because Jumpchain is the sub-genre of exactly these kinds of CYOA's.

The main scenarios for Jumpchain is that a person called the Jumper goes to different universes fills out a corresponding document to buy abilities, items and make other important choices such as who they are when they enter the world.

They would then stay in that world for a set amount of time, usually 10 years, and then get the choice of staying permanently, returning to their own world or hopping to another world.

If they choose to hop to another world they would go through a new document and get to keep everything they gained through purchases from previous documents.

That is where the name comes from.

They jump to other worlds with each new world they travel to being a new addition to their chain of worlds.

There is also the aspect of a Benefactor or Jump-Chan who is usually an Entity that sponsors the Jumper in question by providing the ability to travel to other worlds in the first place as well as giving them their purchases from the documents.

These beings are usually certified R.O.B.'s (Random Omnipotent Beings) who do what they do for the widest variety of reasons such as entertainment, inheritance of power or something else.

There really was no limit really as a part of the Jumpchain community also likes to write FanFictions on self-inserts, OC's (Original Characters) or canon characters going through their own Chain, thus having a certain freedom in writing whatever powerful figure they need to to write a certain way was a good aspect for them.

So in that way, Jumpchain are more formatted and made to be compatible with each other even if there were quite a few meta changes and evolution over the years of Jumpchain existing.

And if I'm correct with my assumption I'm the random schmuck that has just been giving the opportunity to be a Jumper irl.

It could also just be some demon or fae playing a prank on me in which I sell my soul or something as there is enough suspicious activity in this room alone for me not to consider the possibilities for it.

I however shake my head, emptying my thoughts.

No need to overthink.

Either way, I either become a Jumper and get magic powers, get fun adventures in fantastical world and get to experience my unrealistic sexual fantasies of anthropomorphic waifu's and husbandos or my balls explode with my soul being tortured for eternity as I die of thirst In this room since I can't do anything as a mundane individual against some supernatural being.

I stare at the screen for a few seconds before start randomly pressing buttons.

Nothing on the screen changes at all.

I hold my hand up to my chin in the thinker position.

… and then I press the enter key.

Now in all its glory it is revealed to be…

a regular Windows Home Screen.

There were two apps already installed and they were located on the top left of the screen.

The pictures for them were of a warehouse and an anotomical human body.

They were called 'Cosmic Warehouse' and 'Essential Body Mod' respectively.

Those were also familiar terms for me.

Since the first Jump Documents were made by a guy on the Internet calling himself Quicksilver he also added two aspects that are commonly accepted as essential by its community today.

Those being the Body Mod and Cosmic Wharehouse.

The Body Mod allows for Jumpers to have an improved baseline/lower limit to allow even people who are below average, like those with mental problems and physical deformities, to start with optimal human condition which also helps since there are certain times Jumpers can be left with none of their usual stuff for certain periods of time and they only are left with their Body Mod and themselves to rely on.

The Cosmic Wharehouse on the other hand solves the problem of where to store all of the things they collect through the worlds they travel to, from Jump document purchases or the worlds themselves, by providing a pocket dimension that is accessible through a key that turns any door it is used on into a portal to it.

Of course both of them have certain choices within themselves to make them different even compared to those of other Jumpers.

The app corresponding to the Wharehouse seems to be of Quicksilvers classic depiction while the one for the Body Mod seems to be of a more modern alternative Body Mod made by another creator of this community.

I actually was familiar with both since I used multiple versions of them for different Chains I made on my own time for myself.

Such included Nubee's Body Mod and the Personal Reality Supplement which was a replacement for the usual Warehouse.

With curiosity I clicked on the one depicting the human body.

And according with my expectations I was greeted with that all too familiar document.

I was quite accustomed to the Essential Body Mod as it was the Body Mod I used most for making Chains because it being quite a bit more overpowered in comparison to other Body Mods since it had a larger variety of more absolute effects that could eventually be completely bought out as it was on of the few Body Mods that could be upgraded after the initial implementation of it by continuously pouring CP (Choice Points) into it and converting them to an equal amount of EP (Essence Points) which was the currency used for the purchases in this Supplement.

Although I'm still wondering to this day on why it was unanimously decided that the default name for the points used in Jump documents needs to be capable of being shortened to CP.

Anyway, It even had a nice selection of freebies that could grab on quite a good bonus f…

…wait a minute.

Why is it crossed out?

Why is every choice crossed out?

I quickly scroll in confusion down the entire document until I reach the bottom.

"Huh?"

I let out an exasperated gasp.

I'm completely out of my element right now.

Clicking on everything doesn't seem to do anything.

I at least can still remember that the beginning introduction was not crossed out so quickly scroll back up and start reading through it.

Nothing is different and nothing has changed.

I continue reading in confusion until I find something off.

Under the selection of Mode there was an option that was highlighted in blue as if stating it were selected already.

[No Advancement (Custom/Homebrew)

Start with one Essence and 0 EP. You cannot gain more EP with the purchase of Perks. You also cannot gain the Perks listed in the Basic Perks section.]

The hell?

I am pretty sure this wasn't here the last time I used this document.

And by that Custom/Homebrew written in those brackets it seems whatever is giving me this opportunity to become a Jumper has made this option specifically for me or others they themselves send on Chains.

I try to click on it but nothing changes.

Looks like this Body Mod will be a static unchanging one after all.

It doesn't really matter however as I can still gain a good baseline and there are other ways I can add stuff to my Body Mod later if I can choose which documents to use and where to travel.

The Essence mentioned is something based around a mechanic found in regular jumps though.

It used to be called Background but it was then changed to Origin in most documents but the name for it is quite irrelevant as they still do the same thing.

They decide what kind of history you have in a world and give discounts on certain options related to that history.

The Essence here for example only gives access to discounts.

So with 0 EP I should not be able anything even with discounts.

Wrong.

There is a bit of an unspoken agreement, that is sometimes even written, that if an option that costs 100 points or lower is discounted it becomes free.

Only in certain documents is that an exception but that is because there exists options worth 50 points that can be discounted who receive this treatment.

And this document is exactly one if those documents, meaning I will gain a selection of 50 EP Perks to my Body Mod for free when I choose an Essence.

Perks is the umbrella term for all ability or power based purchases in Jump documents btw.

The Essences in this supplement document are also based on specific archetypes and desires a Jumper can choose from so it will be best to choose something that fits and gives boons that are useful for when I am left without all of my future Perks.

And since I was familiar with this Supplement I already knew what suited me the best.

The Essence of the Superior.

A bit arrogant on the naming but it was fitting since it represented the archetype of all-rounder and the self improvement type.

And I definitely want that as with some clever decisions you can pretty easily become overpowered very quickly as a Jumper with the power just compounding very ridiculously with each new Jump.

And that is not even considering how many actually busted Jump Docs were made or those with easily exploitable mechanics.

One wouldn't even need to look at the Documents themselves to be extremely overpowered as merely having canon knowledge of the worlds events through fictional media could give opportunities for great power, even if the most powerful stuff is usually given away in the documents themselves.

This Essence thus grants me access to the first purchases of a good list of Perks which includes:

Physical Prowess granting me peak human performance.

Physical Resistance granting me immunity to most mundane maladies.

Reduced Sustenance halving my required sustenance to function.

Environmental Tolerance making me immune to temperatures between -100 Celsius and +100 Celsius while also eliminating my need to breath.

Heightened Senses giving me peak human senses and an immunity to overwhelming those senses by stimulus.

Heightened Reactions increasing its namesake.

Mental Prowess giving me a better memory for all future memories and resistance against identity erosion through memory implantation which is VERY good for Jumpers as most Jumps implant memories into them corresponding to the Origin they chose as if they lived as a native on the world their entire life.

Mental Resistance giving me a stronger resistance to mind control and corruption effects which is also VERY handy for Jumpers as those effects could be devastating and are more common than one would think across multiple Jumps.

Martial Mastery which doubles all training that has to do with martial arts, weapons and life energy.

Polyglot making learning languages a thousand times faster which is again VERY good for Jumpers as I wouldn't need to spend as much time when deciding to communicate with people who's languages I don't know if I don't get them with my Origin memories.

And Power Toggle which although doesn't apply to me in a Body Mod way allows me to turn off or control the power output of powers in a percentile way which can be a godsend for certain Perks that have negative qualities to them and no direct statement to be capable of turning off.

This helps for stuff like decay auras or death touch powers and the like.

Even for just controlling the output of powers can it be very useful or for just turning most of them off when not needing them to live in an ordinary world without constantly having to worry that my super strength destroys whatever I'm holding.

And with that my choices for the Essential Body Mod has been completed.

Now changing to the other app I am greeted by the classic document.

Looking through it quickly I am pleasantly surprised that there is nothing off about with nothing new added or crossed out.

For this document I am given 150 CP to purchase different utilities, facilities and extras with costs that are a multiple of ten.

For the utilities I decide on, Electricity, Plumbing, A.C, Local Net, Forcewall and Gravity Link.

With those purchases I could live in the warehouse if I ever wanted to but I would have to buy the Housing Option but I won't since I have an idea for later.

The additional features for safe internet access and lowering gravity are just nice to have in case if my plans don't turn out as expected.

Forcewall however is a must have for me as it means no entity could follow me into the warehouse once I open it.

For the utilities I take the Shelving, Workshop and Medbay.

The Shelving is free and helpful for storage purposes, the workshop will be good for when I start getting some science and intelligence Perks to work on stuff while the Medbay is just overpowered as it is free healthcare that can cure anything!

Pretty ridiculous and good since it will probably take a while for me to go after really good healing abilities that can come close to the Medbays cure all.

Even if it will be more handy to have some lower level mobile healing spell as I can't just let anyone in my Warehouse just to use h to e Medbay, especially in more mundane worlds if I'm not strong enough yet.

I am not trusting governments or others businesses that would like to exploit me.

As for the extras…

I took Portals which changes the opening condition for the Cosmic Warehouse from the Key that turns doors into gateways to the warehouse to a portal that can be opened on flat surfaces I touch and thus taking away the possibility of someone stealing away my access to the warehouse by taking the key.

Thus my Warehouse supplement concludes as I have spend all of my points.

Now that I am done with those two where should I go to decide the first actual Jump document?

In a flash the screen changes and what greets me is what appears to be a search engine.

Thankfully it was already set in dark mode (even if there were no settings available by the looks of it).

Hmmm, interesting.

I ignore the obvious suspicious coincidence and type in three words.

After clicking enter I am given the Jump document that I wanted.

'No Nut November Gauntlet'

It gets added to the desktop where it gets turned into an app with a peanut as the symbol right next to the Body Mod App.

Gauntlets are a bit different from the usual Jumps.

Instead of living for 10 years within a setting, Gauntlets are more challange mode focused as they drop you into a place with an objective and without anything you gained before becoming a Jumper (with the exception of the Body Mod).

In exchange they are shorter, and failing them doesn't result in failure as if a Jumper fails in a regular Jump through death or another condition they lose everything they gained through their Chain and are send back as how they were before becoming Jumpers.

Failing Gauntlets just makes you lose everything you gained in the Gauntlet and lets the Jumpers continue their Chain with some even allowing the Jumpers to retry them with no further consequences.

Completing them also usually awards Jumpers with predetermined Perks or Items for free or Points to freely spend afterwards.

They also do not give Jumpers any starting points.

This works because a mechanic in CYOA's and Jumpchain exists called Drawbacks.

They are basically optional temporary curses that a Jumper can take in Jump documents to gain more points that they can spend freely for more options.

However they overpower Perks or other such abilities if they were to directly clash.

Having a bad luck Drawback would make it so no matter however many good luck Perks a Jumper would have for example they would still suffer from it.

But in indirect cases such as spawning in extra enemies a Jumper could just kill them and have completely resolved the issue without consequences on the Drawbacks end.

It is highly dependable on the wording though.

Anyways, moving onto the No Nut November Gauntlet.

The special challange for this Gauntlet is to win No Nut November.

So as long as I don't orgasm and cum for one month I win the Gauntlet and can move on in my Chain.

I remembered this Gauntlet for a very good reason while I was filling out my Wharehouse Supplement and found it very suitable for me currently.

Because it sent me to a pocket dimension for the duration of the challenge and supplied me with food, water and entertainment I could use the extra time to plan the order of my future Jumps and how to prepare for them.

The purchases for certain Perks and Items here are also really good while also allowing for a free House to be added to the warehouse.

Also having that much free time to play video games or spend chronically online is just a big positive for me.

Starting with the Mode choices they decide how and where I spend my time in this Gauntlet.

I chose the House option which transports me to a House in a pocket dimension for the Gauntlet and after the challange is completed I can integrate it into my Warehouse for free or import it into future worlds.

I of course will add it onto my Warehouse for a sweet Mobile Home deal and because of all the Utilities I bough in the Wharehouse supplement I don't have to worry about its appliances not working once it gets connected to it.

And I didn't have to spend extra points on the Housing option in the Supplement!

Free stuff is nice.

Now onto the Drawbacks.

I take 'Easy Temptations' which gives me easy access to lewd sites with stuff that I would be turned on by.

'No Nuts' which makes eating Nuts a failure condition along with orgasming.

'Surprise Bone' making it so I have surprise Boners which doesn't directly make the challange harder but still could increase my temptation.

'In your Window' which makes my mind think of dirty things when looking at non lewd things such as a banana…

'No Touchy!' making it so that I get electrocuted when I scratch my balls unconsciously.

And 'Just Ine Month?' Making the challange take 1 year instead of a month.

All in all not too bad of a difficulty enhancement for me.

The electrocution one grants a bunch of points while the other gives more meager points but can be quite adequate when used together.

I'm pretty confident in doing this for a full year too since I have managed multiple months of not gooning before without feeling any bit of need to masturbate before.

I only broke that streak because I needed the post nut clarity boost since I was getting depressed at that time.

And with having no school or job interference I should be able to spend my personal time in peace for that duration.

I didn't even take any of the Drawbacks that makes not orgasming compoundingly difficult.

Anyway, I receive one discount per Perk and Item price tier so that means I can optimize my points by getting the most out of all my available discounts.

For free I gain 'Nighty Night' which guarantees me not to have wet dreams and lose the challenge because of sleeping.

Using the Discount for one 100 point Perk I get 'Something else to do' for free making it so I always know of something else that I want to do.

This can help in distracting myself from the need of masturbation somewhat.

For the 200 and 400 Perk tiers and their discounts I gain 'Dubious Health Benefits' and 'Ligma Jumper Grindset'.

The first one makes it so I gain pseudo-scientific benifits from certain "training".

In short if it is believed not masturbating for a month makes your dick pack more inches it does.

This is pretty good as the description says stuff like gravity training and healing from broken bones strengthens bone density meaning I can get some ridiculous anime logic training benifits if I do some unconventional training in the future.

The second perk gives me a flat out 10 times booster to anything I train in which gets better the more singleminded I train one specific thing.

This is also a big reason I came to this Jump right now as I currently have no extraordinary talent that allows for me to get more done with less time.

Many Jumpers rely on having a long amount of time and out of context powers to outperform strong and talented fictional characters that can get massive powers ups during fights.

Thus training boosters or Perks that boost the benefits of training are something that can be found in more Jumps than some other kinds of abilities.

Although they are still not that common.

In terms of rarety they would still be be pretty rare.

But an aspect of 'Ligma Jumper Grindset' that makes it among the better training boosters out there is that it can be increased dependent on how a person trains making it really good.

Not to mention that a 10 times boost is among the better training boosters already.

As for the the 600 Perk I chose 'Nutless Curse' which makes it so I can curse people to have abstinence or force another's sex drive into hyper mode.

They even work on things that shouldn't like robots and eldritch beings.

I mostly chose it because I have the Points available as it is not that important compared to the House or training booster but I think it's good to have for trolling purposes.

Not to mention it has potential to empower future curses I gain through a Deez Nuts joke.

As for the Items.

I got Tier 2 for Food, Water and Entertainment meaning I have a bit better stuff for my own comfort during this Gauntlet as well as for the future.

I take 'Bolts' for Free through the 100 point Discount.

It gives small machinery pieces and such.

Mostly helpful when I have access to my Workshop in the Warehouse to tinker a bit.

Next I take 'The Boinker' for 200 points.

Hehehe.

This is another reason I chose this Jump as my first.

Basically it is Cheems wooden Bat that he uses in the memes to bonk the horny out of others.

There are two modes for it.

One where it disables lust of the person hit for a day and makes them think over what they have done while not doing any physical harm.

Good for dealing with perverts.

And the second one dealing harm proportional to how much lewdness is tied to the things it hits existence.

This baseically makes it the kryptonite of succubi, sex gods such as Slaanesh and other rape monsters of lewd worlds such as Monster Girl Encyclopedia.

Very good insurance for lewd worlds or those with filled with perverts like most animes.

Then I get 'Motivation' for 400 which can be any kind item that will motivate when I need it and double hype, confidence and an attribute related to a predicament of mine when I'm in need of it.

Abusing the selection option a bit I write in my phone in the part where it allowed me to choose what form this item takes.

And lastly I chose the 600 point Item 'Maximum Nuts' which gives me Nuts of different tiers that act as Health and Mana Potions that refill everything completely, one that do the same but also permantly double energy reserves and health and the last tier of which I only gain one permantly across my entire chain.

The last one temporarily makes me omnipotent so it will be a pretty good fuck you to any too overpowered being I have to fight in the future without being prepared for it.

I could even use it for some real bullshit and impossible Scenarios to overcome them effortlessly but that's neither here or there.

But, yeah.

I'm pretty much done now with selection.

I click onto the enter key whilst still standing in front of the computer.

"Sooooo what no-'

The being who became a Jumper disappeared.
