Chapter 307: Let Me Introduce Myself—My Name is Li Yao

Ōnoki glanced at his beloved daughter, feeling a bit sour. She used to stick to him, once called him the strongest in the ninja world. But now she was staring at another man with a face full of admiration.

Fortunately, he was very satisfied with his disciple, Shiyan.

At first, when Shiyan said he wanted to elevate the Super-Weighted Boulder Technique to the level of Kekkei Tōta, Ōnoki didn't take it seriously. It was too difficult—he didn't believe Shiyan could do it.

In fact, at that time, he'd lost his temper and told Shiyan to focus on Dust Release instead.

After all, besides himself, Shiyan was the only one in Iwagakure who had mastered the Super-Weighted Boulder Technique. Dust Release should have been his true path.

But after some time, Shiyan really did succeed—his version of the Super-Weighted Boulder Technique imposed far greater weight than even Ōnoki's own technique.

Ōnoki had practiced it for years and thought he had reached its limits, only to see his disciple push it further.

That's when Ōnoki began to believe Shiyan might truly elevate the technique to Kekkei Tōta level.

From then on, he no longer opposed the path. Instead, he encouraged Shiyan with the promise that, if successful, his strength would surpass even his own.

Ōnoki understood very well—once a single chakra nature–based technique reached the level of Kekkei Tōta, it became truly terrifying.

Super-Weighted Boulder, Black Lightning from the Third Raikage, and White Lightning from Konoha's Sakumo all served as proof.

Ōnoki had known from the start—if Shiyan could achieve Kekkei Tōta with the Super-Weighted Boulder Technique, its power would be monstrous.

But to the extent of crippling the Third Raikage—whose body was honed to the limit and covered in Lightning Armor—with a single punch? That, Ōnoki never imagined.

Initially, he had only believed that a Shiyan who mastered a Kekkei Tōta version of the Super-Weighted Boulder Technique would be on par with top-level shinobi like himself or the Third Raikage.

Instead, Shiyan gave him a tremendous surprise.

Now… he had no worries about his daughter following Shiyan.

And entrusting the village's future to Shiyan no longer concerned him.

After this battle, Shiyan's path to becoming the next Tsuchikage was wide open.

To single-handedly defeat the Third Raikage—this accomplishment and level of power, witnessed by the majority of Iwagakure's forces, would earn Shiyan unmatched prestige.

That was why Ōnoki had Shiyan face the Third Raikage one-on-one.

Originally, he only hoped Shiyan could hold him off long enough to wear him down.

But Shiyan had gone far beyond expectations—crippling the Third Raikage with a single punch, stunning everyone.

Now, there were no more obstacles on Shiyan's path to becoming the Fourth Tsuchikage.

Floating in the air, Ōnoki looked down at Shiyan with pride—like a father watching his child finally succeed.

When Shiyan walked up to the Third Raikage and grabbed him by the throat, lifting him into the air, the stunned Iwa shinobi finally began to snap out of their daze.

"Ah… we won!!!"

"Lord Shiyan won!!!"

"That monster, the Third Raikage, was crippled by Lord Shiyan with one punch!!!"

"Amazing, Lord Shiyan!!"

"Ahhh—!!"

In that instant, shock turned into euphoria. They all acknowledged Shiyan's power, status, and authority—addressing him now as "Lord Shiyan."

The cheers swept through the battlefield, and even those at the rear, who couldn't see what had happened, understood through the roar what had taken place.

That monster, who withstood three hours of siege without injury—the Third Raikage—had been defeated by their own Lord Shiyan. And not just defeated, but crippled in one blow.

This surreal moment sent the Iwa shinobi into a frenzy. Shouting Lord Shiyan's name became the only way they could express their excitement.

Amid the thunderous cheers, Shiyan pulled the Third Raikage closer, leaned in, and softly whispered in his ear with a smile, "Lord Third Raikage… long time no see."

A flicker of confusion passed through the Third Raikage's eyes.

They'd met before?

He didn't recall ever meeting Ōnoki's disciple.

As the Third Raikage frowned in puzzlement, Shiyan continued, voice low and playful in his ear, "Remember the first time you tried to hunt me down? No way to run, no place to hide. I nearly died several times."

The Third Raikage's eyes grew even more perplexed. When had he ever chased Ōnoki's disciple?

"Oh, right."

Shiyan suddenly chuckled and leaned closer. "I never introduced myself properly. Besides the name 'Shiyan,' I have another name—Li Yao."

Li Yao!!!

Those two words exploded in the Third Raikage's mind like a thunderclap, shattering his consciousness with fear.

Compared to being Ōnoki's disciple, the identity of "Li Yao" was far more terrifying—even after all these years.

The battle where the Five Kage once tried to kill Li Yao had left a deep scar on him.

Shiyan was strong. One punch had crippled him.

But Shiyan had limits.

Li Yao was different. That terrifying genius, capable of instantly mastering even Kekkei Genkai upon touching them—that was what truly haunted the Third Raikage.

And then there was the ability to possess other bodies.

If Li Yao had survived that day, he'd surely have mastered the signature techniques of all five Kage by now—

The Third Mizukage's Black Water, the Third Kazekage's Magnet Release, Ōnoki's Dust Release, and even the Third Raikage's Lightning Armor and Black Lightning…

And who knew how many other Kekkei Genkai Li Yao had learned while hiding all these years?

Just imagining it made the Third Raikage tremble with fear. He couldn't accept that Shiyan was actually Li Yao.

"Ugh…"

The Third Raikage opened his mouth, trying to deny it—but Shiyan's grip on his throat was too tight. No words came out—only a strangled groan.

This wasn't real!

Li Yao was dead!

The Third Raikage desperately tried to convince himself, but memories of that fateful battle surged in his mind.

Back then, the plan was to seal Li Yao inside the Four Red Yang Formation, then kill him, and have Kato Dan use the Spirit Transformation Technique to confirm the death of his soul.

But due to mistrust among the Five Kage—and Ōnoki's trickery—Kato Dan ended up dying alongside Li Yao, which meant they never truly confirmed if Li Yao's soul had been destroyed.

And the Four Red Yang Formation had been broken soon after.

If Li Yao had escaped at that moment, there was a real chance he avoided the Dust Release attack and fled by possessing one of the Five Kage's attendants.

That must've been when Li Yao infiltrated the Iwagakure forces and survived.
