Chapter 306: One Punch, Raikage Defeated
"That scared the hell out of me!"
Hovering in the sky, Huitu exhaled in relief, her face still filled with lingering fear. She had been just about to jump in to save her little junior… but thankfully, he was strong enough.
"What terrifying defense!"
Ōnoki, who had also been preparing to intervene, stopped in his tracks, his heart shaken.
The Super-Weighted Boulder Technique, when developed to its peak, had produced such a terrifying level of defense?
If he could master this jutsu himself, then… heh.
Ōnoki suddenly grinned—confidently.
With a defense like this, and his Dust Release for offense, who in the ninja world could be his match?
Now, at last, he could rest easy.
Ōnoki returned his focus to the battle between his disciple and the Third Raikage below.
Whoosh!
The Third Raikage instantly leapt back, sweat pouring down his face as he stared at Earth Release Clone - Shiyan, his lips trembling. "You… you…"
When someone's most trusted technique is directly blocked, their confidence suffers a crushing blow.
Right now, the Third Raikage was feeling exactly that. His most prideful technique—Hell Stab—had been blocked head-on by Shiyan's bare body. In other words, his fighting spirit was shattered.
"Not bad."
Shiyan glanced around and smiled subtly. He was quite satisfied with the stunned reactions of the Iwa shinobi. This was exactly the effect he wanted.
At the same time, he was pleased with the defense granted by the Technique of Mass.
By applying a conceptual weight of ten thousand tons to his body via the Technique of Mass, he achieved an extraordinary density, and with that, a defense so terrifying it could completely ignore even the Third Raikage's most powerful piercing attack.
One had to admit—Earth Release, no matter the world, always represented ultimate defense.
And now that Earth Release had been developed to the level of Kekkei Tōta, the defensive power of the Technique of Mass was truly monstrous—even Lightning Release, which typically countered Earth Release, could not break through it.
At this moment, the Third Raikage was completely stunned.
When his strongest attack failed to leave even a scratch on Shiyan, he experienced for the first time what those ordinary shinobi must have felt when facing his own Lightning Armor—absolute despair.
"How… how did you do that?"
He looked like a top student who was certain he'd score 100 on a test, only to find out he'd gotten a 50. His face was filled with the thirst for knowledge, desperate to know what had just stopped his attack.
Shiyan smiled and waved him forward. "Wanna know? Then come try again."
The Third Raikage's anger flared instantly, but one glance at his now-useless index finger turned his fury to cold dread.
Back during the siege against Li Yao, his left hand had been broken by Ōnoki. Now his only remaining right index finger had been broken by Ōnoki's disciple.
At this point, the Third Raikage no longer knew what he should do.
"Heh…"
Shiyan chuckled. "If you won't come to me, then I'll come to you."
He charged forward—moving as fast as lightning, yet his body looked light as paper.
It wasn't until he was right in front of the Third Raikage that he threw a punch.
The moment the punch came out, Shiyan's body suddenly felt like a towering mountain—air itself twisted toward his fist.
Whoosh!
Seeing this, the Third Raikage's eyes sharpened. He twisted to dodge and kicked at Shiyan's waist as he passed.
Bang!
Shiyan didn't dodge—he couldn't. The Third Raikage's kick struck his waist… and felt like hitting a steel wall. No damage at all.
"As I thought."
The Third Raikage's eyes lit up. He immediately withdrew his leg, turned around, and sprinted toward the distant Iwa shinobi—refusing to get dragged into a prolonged fight.
"As expected of a Kage. He immediately saw the flaw in the Technique of Mass."
Shiyan's eyes flickered with admiration. Then he lightened his body mass and accelerated in pursuit.
Just as he was about to catch up, the Third Raikage suddenly turned and gathered Lightning Release chakra into his middle finger—striking at Shiyan.
From the sudden increase in air pressure just before Shiyan punched, the Third Raikage had guessed the nature of his technique.
When Shiyan moved at top speed, his body lacked that heavy feeling. But when it had that weight, he moved slower—or rather, not as fast as when lightened.
It was like switching between Super-Weighted Boulder and Light-Weight Boulder.
So when Shiyan's body was light, he no longer had that monstrous defense.
Which meant—if he could react fast enough, he could strike Shiyan during that fleeting window before he changed his body weight again. That would kill him.
This was the Third Raikage's counter-strategy, thought up in a split second.
Just like how, in the original story, Minato analyzed Obito's ability mid-battle and exploited a split-second delay to defeat him.
The Third Raikage had the same terrifying combat intuition.
Unfortunately, Shiyan inherited the reaction speed of Li Yao's main body—he wasn't slow, either.
What's more, he had already predicted that the Third Raikage would figure out the weakness in his technique and had prepared accordingly.
So…
Crack!
The Third Raikage's middle finger was crushed—just like his index finger.
Boom!
This time, before he could retreat, Shiyan's punch landed squarely on the Third Raikage's abdomen. It wasn't particularly fast—but the force was monstrous.
It was like being hit by a hammer weighing ten thousand tons. The immense impact shattered the Raikage's Lightning Armor and slammed into his internal organs.
Crack crack crack… His ribs shattered instantly.
The Third Raikage curled into a twisted ball and was sent flying, leaving a trench dozens of meters long in the earth.
Puh puh…
One hand braced on the ground, the Third Raikage struggled to his knees, coughing up blood like it was pouring out of him.
His internal organs had been ruptured. Even if Shiyan did nothing more, the Third Raikage was already beyond saving. Only his powerful will kept him upright.
Step… step… step…
Shiyan walked slowly toward him—each footstep like a heavy blow upon the Third Raikage's spirit.
How were his son and Killer Bee supposed to fight a monster like this?
How was Kumogakure supposed to deal with him?
The Third Raikage couldn't think of a single person in the entire village who could stand up to this monster.
"Old man, now I get why you said once my little junior finished developing his new jutsu, he'd be stronger than you."
Watching Shiyan take down the Lightning Armor–clad Third Raikage with just one punch, Huitu was shocked once again.
She had believed her junior could win—but to do it with such ease, with one single punch nearly killing the Third Raikage? That, she hadn't expected.
If even the Third Raikage could be defeated so easily, then it was no wonder the old man himself admitted he wasn't a match.
