My breathing stops for a second when I hear Jahar say that.
"Slavers…?"
My voice asks as if to confirm what I've just heard her say.
"Yes, we planned to just leave you but now, an elf along with a kid with magic in his eye, I think you'd fetch prices much better than the average kid we have in the tent."
I take a breath, a shallow, ragged breath.
"The average kid…? In the tent? The whole tent is filled with children?"
Jahar chuckles a little.
"Don't worry, not all the slaves are kids, but they sure as hell will catch a fair price for being slaves."
Wolfe, grabs Marcilene by her hair and pulls her to her feet.
"I'll bring her to a cage."
Jahar turns and nods toward Wolfe.
In the moment, I didn't think I just chose to do something.
Marcilene began to scream from the pain, surprise, fear? Whatever it was I knew I had to do something.
I moved my hand from my face, not caring about the sting in my eye no more.
As I get up to off the ground, Jahar hits me with the blunt end of the sword once more, pushing me down and making my nose bleed.
I didn't care.
"Move."
I got up once more and tried to push the woman, but she was strong.
She slapped me and I went flying back down.
Wolfe stopped to, Watch the show.
He chuckled everytime I got back up.
I was on the ground looking up at Jahar, my breath dropped to a weak shallow breath, it showed my fear, but in my eye, what was seen was the anger I held for the woman right in front of me.
Wolfe saw it, the same way Jahar saw it.
She smiled at the look, like a person that loved the look of anger.
"Get up again, or else your sister may as we'll end up being put in chains."
Wolfe holds up Marcilene by her hair and begins to walk toward the entrance of the tent, a large cut from high to low, to make way for anyone to get inside.
"No!"
I jump back up and Jahar throws the blunt end toward my face once more, ready for it to hit me, but instead I step to the right and push past her, since she can't really move if I push her, it's more of a push for me to get more speed.
She seems surprised at what I did, an action that a young kid wouldn't normally do.
Her aura was blacked and the feeling of it felt void, like it was endless, for a small second, until my hand touched her body, it felt somewhat warm.
I let go and ran as fast as I could toward Marcilene and Wolfe.
Marcilene's aura was spiking higher than I've ever seen before.
Marcilene screamed as Wolfe still had her in their hands.
Wolfe had his hand grip tighter I knew that, I could see the fingers grip around her hair tighter.
"Let go!"
I rush forward a step onto the log and jump forward toward Wolfe, before I could hit him with my fist, just like before Jahar, stopped me.
She grabbed my wrist and threw me toward the ground, I felt the impact, it has hard painful.
I tucked in my head, letting the pain spread through my body as to not become brain dead.
'Fuck!'
I yelled in my mind as I hit the ground.
"Lazuli!"
Marcilene saw me get flung and she began to thrash to get out of the grip of Wolfe, his arms were strong though not making it easy for her to be released.
"We can sell both the elves, then sell you, we're going to be made for life."
I scan around her, her calm aura as she stood over me, until she lowered herself on top of me.
Holding my small body down with hers.
With a strained breath:
"I'm not an elf."
I try to wiggle myself out.
Her aura really does feel endless and empty, but the place where she sitting on me feels warm, like it's warming up to me.
She looks down to me her one uninjuried eye looking down at me, like a prey and she smiles.
"Not you, there is another elf."
A wind blows out the fire, the gust was strong, very strong my hair was blown all over the place, Wolfe and Marcilene were both at the entrance before the fire went out, making Wolfe stop.
"Shit."
Wolfe tries to move fast, trying to get the fire back.
His aura spiking, as he drops Marcilene, to the ground.
The same goes for Jahar, as she moves off of me and holds her sword at the ready as her aura spikes as well.
"Wolfe, move faster, hurry before he comes."
I look around them to see what she's talking about, but it's to dark to see anything, then out of the corner of my eye, a faint aura is seen, not from behind the tent, but from the left side of his view, just above the tall building.
Standing at the ledge is the clean orange aura of someone, or something standing, crouched atop the roof, being only faintly illuminated by the moonlight.
I move, past Jahar, using the advantage of my eye, to run past Wolfe, who's crouched next to the fire, trying to light it with a few stones he found, striking them again and again.
I grab Marcilene and instead of running away, I run right into the tent, it's dark, nothing to illuminate the way.
As soon as we get inside, we hear a clicking sound, it makes me want to turn, but I don't.
"Wolfe! Hurry with that fire!"
Jahar yells with fear in her voice.
She yelps as she feels my hand around hers.
"Lazuli?"
"Just follow me."
I grab her hand tighter in my hand, look back towards the auras around me, making me move around, a few cages with ease, only every now and again, bumping into someone, and waking them, unless they were already up.
But even then their aura all looked to flow downward, like they have completely given up on trying to escape.
I see that there is an opening, a small hiding small that both me and Marcilene can hide in.
I look around and see a small, aura beside me, one that is kinda like when Marcilene overused her Soul Energy.
I walk over to it, and immediately walk right into a pole, that i coulnd't see because it's freaking dark.
I stretch my hand out to feel for a free entry to the cage.
My hand touches the person behind it, I can feel it, it's just like before when I could touch Jahar, and she felt either, an endless void of a person, and warm right where I touched Jahar.
They feel like a weak gust, trying to survive.
The person let out a small clicking sound, similar to the one, they heard right before we entered the tent.
The aura weakens again, this time i could feel it, my eye also felt it as a small touch, like some of the Soul Energy entered my eye.
"Stop. You'll die."
My voice was low, but it held a concern from them.
Then once more, the clicking sound was made, for the person.
'They'll die, I don't know if I can help them.'
I turn toward Marcilene. I can see her aura spiking, and her hand reaching around, on the ground. She's looking for my hand.
I grab it and squeeze tight, she lets out a sigh, at the feeling of my hand on hers.
I turn back toward the person that slowly losing their Soul Energy.
I touch their face and my hand to theirs.
Looking around, I see all the other aura from the people all around, moonlight, faintly spreading through the tent. As their aura flows down and toward the ground.
My eye stings from looking at them, but I can feel it, I can feel my Soul Energy rise, but I don't understand how to use, it.
So like before, I just try to take a deep breath and force, a warm feeling toward my hand.
It takes some deep breathes, before I feel the warmth, the feeling of the aura spreading around my hand.
After a try to give it to their, like trying to make their energy whole again.
I'm unsure of why I doing it, but for some reason, the person inside the cage, reminds me of Marcilene, the aura is orange and the way it spikes.
I turn back to Marcilene to check her.
It's the exact same.
A clicking sound is made again, but not from the caged person, instead by someone outside, maybe that person from outside the rooftop.
A yell from outside, at the same time, I manage to release it, my eye bleeds a little, but I don't feel the pain. Instead, it's like when I tried to make the water magic.
This time somewhat successful.
Their energy slowly climbs brighter, not as bright as everyone else, but just bright enough to show that their alive.
The tent curtain makes a sound like it was opened, another clicking sound was made.
Footsteps grow closer and closer, each step slow and measuring closer.
That same orange aura is now in view, I grab Marcilene and pulls her into a hug using my body as a way to block hers.
"What's wrong?"
She says to me in a whisper.
"Shh, They are close."
My voice just as low as hers.
Their footstep is heavy, it's a male.
He's stops in front of us. For a second, it feels like he'll crouch down and grab at both me and Marcilene.
Instead, he takes another step forward, after letting out another click.
He bends down and like the metal gate was made of styrofoam he rips it off. Pulling it out completely, my hand, immediately pulls away from the person that's inside the gate.
'I'm sorry, I can risk my sister's life and mine for yours.'
The man puts his hand, softly on the person.
"Are you okay, my daughter?"
His orange aura looks like it's caressing her orange aura.
A nod from the girl inside the cage.
Slowly he goes in deeper and slowly pulls out the girl from the cage.
He stands tall as he gets out, the girl being held in his arms.
He takes a few steps, but before, he walks away completely he stops.
A whisper is heard.
"I'll make sure of that."
Then they rush out of the tent, with many clicking sound as they continue on out the gate.
I pull away softly from Marcilene and look around, checking for any other aura, slowly other whispers are being heard from everyone in the cages around both of us.
I grab Marcilene by the hand and run toward the exit again, bumping into metal every now and again, as a trial and error attempt to free ourselves from here.
After one last bump, We get to the tents exit, grabbing the tent curtain, I open it and see the two, the kidnappers, there, laid on the ground, blood pooling around Wolfe, and only a faint aura from Jahar.
Jahar, with her sword in her hand and Wolfe, with his bow, laid beside him.
I walk past them and stepping over them once, then another as we both try to free ourselves. first Jahar, then Wolfe.
Marcilene takes the last step, but as her foot makes contact with the ground, she is pulled from my hands.
I turn back and see Jahar, limping away from me, even with her limp she's still faster than me.
In an instant I choose action again.
I look around for, something anything.
The bow.
I grab the bow and look around. No arrows.
I continued looking for arrows, until I looked closer at the grip area. A small sigil, like an upside down C.
It let's off a small faint aura, it doesn't have a set color instead, it let's out different colors, not bright or anything crazy, just regular, primary colors.
I tap the sigil and it materialises an arrow out of no where, a blue colored arrow, maybe made from my Soul Energy maybe.
I don't give myself time to think.
I hold the arrow as best as I can and pull the strings back, it stings, like the string is digging into my skin, or that I'm to small for the bow.
I try my best to make the arrow sit straight on the arrow hold, and in a split second, with no control I accidentally release the string, letting the arrow fly through the air towards them.
It flies across the air and misses Jahar, completely.
She looks back, in a limp and gives me a sour look, for a second. I think she'll get away, my hand taps the grip again and I try to pull the arrow back again, but my breathing is wrong.
Im shaking.
I slink back the string and it doesn't even go back all the way, the string slips through my fingers, the arrow stays in the arrow hold.
'Please! Please!'
I pull it back again, and try to aim, but my eyes grow tears, they obscur my vision.
I wipe my face.
'Please! Please!'
I pull the arrow back again.
She's far, I'm not sure I could hit her.
"Marcilene!"
I yell in desperation.
As soon as I yell that I hear the same clicking sound as before, and the sound of footsteps from behind me, as well, lots of people, but only one clciking.
A knife flies through the air and hits Jahar in her leg, making her drop to the ground.
At that same moment, Steel flies right past me and gets toward Jahar and Marcilene, the time it takes for him to cut that distance in half is less than a second.
I run after him, going as fast as I can to them as well.
It takes some time for me to get there, but I get there.
Steel pushes Jahar off of the Marcilene, making her slam into a wall that's more than far away from her.
"Marcilene, Are you okay?"
Steel grabs her and holds her face up to his, checking her breath.
Other people, ones that came slowly than Steel chose to go to grab Jahar.
I slide next to Steel, the bow in hand, I kneel next to them.
"Is she okay?"
I look from Steel to Marcilene. She has her faint aura around her, not spiking or anything.
"Steel, I'm sorry, I should have stopped her, I should have shot her. I should have."
Steel moves his hand to my shoulder.
"You did good as a brother, Lazuli."
My tears spill out, as another person, Vic comes around Steel to put her hand on Marcilene's chest, at first surprised at the elven child that Steel has in his hand, but immediately gets to checking her again as Steel lowers her to the ground for Vic to have space.
Tali comes rushing right after the man, Marcilene's hajib in hand as she immediately puts it over her head, before everyone freaks at an elven child that Steel decided to raise.
"You're okay. You're okay, Lazuli."
Both Steel and Tali tell me as they rest their hand on my shoulder.
