The next morning, Sanchi stepped into Raichand Enterprises with nervous eyes and trembling hands.
This was her first real job.
A huge company.
A completely new world.
And most importantly…
The first step toward her dream.
"Relax," Mahi whispered beside her. "You look like you're about to faint."
Sanchi forced a smile.
But the moment she entered the office, everyone's attention turned toward her.
Within just a few days, Sanchi became everyone's favorite.
Her polite nature, innocent smile, and hardworking personality won people over easily. Even senior employees admired her sincerity.
Everyone liked her.
Except one person.
Kabir Raichand.
Her boss.
Cold.
Arrogant.
Short-tempered.
And impossible to understand.
No matter how hard Sanchi worked, Kabir always found faults in her.
"Is this what you call professional work?" he snapped one day, throwing a file onto the table.
Sanchi clenched her fists silently.
"I'll correct it, sir."
Kabir's sharp eyes remained fixed on her.
"You should."
From that day onward, irritation slowly turned into hatred.
Sanchi couldn't stand him anymore.
Meanwhile, things at home were getting worse.
Every single day, her family pressured her about marriage.
At first, she avoided the topic.
Then she argued.
Then she begged.
But eventually…
She got tired.
"Fine," she said one night quietly. "I'll marry whoever you choose."
Her family's happiness returned instantly.
And within days, they found a groom from a wealthy family.
The next evening, the groom's family was coming to see her.
Sanchi sat in front of the mirror silently while her mother helped her get ready.
"You must say yes," her mother warned softly. "This alliance can change our lives."
Sanchi lowered her eyes.
She had no choice anyway.
A few hours later…
The groom's family finally arrived.
Laughter filled the house.
Everyone looked excited.
Except Sanchi.
After some formal conversation, both families asked Sanchi and the groom to talk privately.
Trying to remain calm, Sanchi led the man toward her room.
But the moment she looked at his face properly…
Her footsteps froze.
Her eyes widened in shock.
"You?!"
Kabir looked equally stunned.
For a few seconds, silence filled the room.
Then Kabir let out a frustrated sigh and loosened his tie.
"I was wondering why this marriage was arranged so suddenly," he muttered coldly. "I didn't even bother looking at the girl's photo properly."
His sharp gaze landed on her.
"If I had known it was you, I would never have come here."
Sanchi's anger instantly exploded.
"Perfect!" she snapped. "Then go outside and reject this marriage!"
Kabir frowned.
"My family is forcing me into this," she continued bitterly. "They already made it clear that I have no right to refuse. So if you don't want this marriage either, just tell them you didn't like me."
Kabir stared at her silently for a moment.
Then suddenly…
He stepped closer.
Sanchi's heartbeat quickened.
"Kabir sir—"
"Listen to me carefully, Sanchi."
His deep voice turned dangerously calm.
And the words he said next…
Made the ground disappear beneath her feet.
Her face went pale.
"What…?"
Sanchi whispered in disbelief.
But Kabir's expression remained completely emotionless.
Because after tonight…
Both of their lives were about to change forever.
