Chapter 22 - A Woman Who Observes

The house didn't feel the same anymore.

Something had changed.

Tahee sat on the couch, pretending to scroll through her phone.

"…Why does it feel like I'm being watched?"

She didn't look up.

Didn't react.

But she knew.

Across the room—

Su-ho.

Sitting calmly.

A cup of tea in her hand.

Watching her.

Silently.

"…Yep. Definitely watching."

A pause.

"…Not even trying to hide it."

Tahee finally looked up.

Their eyes met.

For a second—

No one spoke.

Then—

Su-ho placed her cup down.

"You seem different."

Tahee blinked.

"…I've been hearing that a lot."

"…Is this a trend now?"

Su-ho didn't smile.

Her gaze sharpened slightly.

"In what way?" Tahee asked casually.

A pause.

Su-ho leaned back slightly.

"Your behavior."

Silence.

Tahee tilted her head.

"…People change."

"…Especially after dying once."

The air froze.

Completely.

Su-ho's fingers stilled.

Just for a second.

Then—

Moved again.

Normal.

But her eyes—

Had changed.

Sharper.

More focused.

Tahee blinked.

"…Did I just say something weird?"

A faint silence stretched.

Then—

Su-ho spoke again.

"Do you always say what you think?"

Tahee frowned slightly.

"What do you mean?"

"…Of course I don't."

Su-ho watched her.

Closely.

"Interesting."

A pause.

She stood up slowly.

Walking closer.

Each step calm.

Measured.

Tahee didn't move.

But her attention sharpened.

"…She's like Asher."

A pause.

"…No… worse."

Su-ho stopped in front of her.

Not too close.

But close enough.

"You should be careful," she said quietly.

Tahee's eyes narrowed slightly.

"…About what?"

A brief silence.

Su-ho's gaze held hers.

"People who notice patterns."

Silence.

Tahee's heartbeat slowed.

Just a little.

"…That makes two now."

Asher.

Su-ho.

Her fingers tightened slightly.

But her face—

Stayed calm.

"I'll keep that in mind."

"…Maybe."

Su-ho straightened.

Then turned away.

Like nothing happened.

But the air—

Didn't return to normal.

Tahee leaned back slowly.

"…This is bad."

A pause.

"…Very bad."

Because this time—

It didn't feel like curiosity.

It felt like…

Awareness.
