Chapter 608 - Two sizes

"Yeah, do you think he'll actually let me marry a man old enough to be my father?" Lulu laughed.

"Yeah, you're right, even if you did manage to walk down the aisle somehow, Dom would tackle that pervert straight to the ground." Michael said strongly, he was so sure.

"In fact, we all would help him ruin the wedding." Michael laughed as Nine and Charlie agreed.

"I know right, it can't even cross my mind, besides, if I really need money, I'll just ask my lovely grandfather for some, he would never let me suffer in poverty." Lulu said proudly.

"Yeah, because he says he didn't suffer in poverty for us to remain poor and suffering." Michael laughed.

"That's true, but do not forgot that he always says that neither did he gather riches for us to waste it and grow up spoilt." Dom added.

"We were all raised to know the value of money and good spending, which is why I'm sure once he hears that you want to use the money to go on a luxurious vacation he won't give it to you." He said as Lulu frowned at him.

"Well I for one agree with Lulu to an extent." Natasha said.

"Why thank you Natasha." Lulu smiled.

"I mean, it's not a crime against humanity to go on a nice vacation for once. You could save up money and go on vacation." Natasha said.

"I agree with Natasha, it's true, but you know that the type of nice vacation you're imagining is not the one you are." Charlie said.

"Lulu has high taste, it's true." Nine admitted.

"Yeah, that's why she doesn't have a boyfriend yet." Charlie laughed.

"Hey!" Lulu shouted, she stood to her feet and frowned.

"Why did you have to go there? That's not true at all!" She said.

"Oh but it is, you have very high taste in everything, including men, which isn't a good thing, but that's why you're still single." Charlie continued.

"Look who's talking, you don't have a girlfriend either, you've never had one." Lulu threw the accusation back at him so he would know how his bogus statement felt.

"Hey! It's not my fault women don't know a gem like me." Charlie said.

"But it's true, you've never have a boyfriend, ever." Michael agreed, even Dom nodded.

"That's because I don't need one, besides, I haven't found the right one yet." She said, she did not know why she included that last part, but it definitely did not help her case one bit.

"That's because the right one doesn't exist Lulu." Michael said. He did not mean to sound so pessimistic, but when you are looking for the one for you as long as he had, you start to be less and less positive that life works out the way you intend for it to.

"Mhmm, imagine you're at the store and you find this top you like and it's only in two sizes bigger and smaller than your actual size, that's how finding a life partner is." Charlie said as if he was speaking from a place of experience, which he was.

"Yeah, but I don't go to stores where they won't have my right size in the first place." She replied boldly, Dom fought the urge to laugh, how could his sister always be so confident in everything.

That was one thing she always had as a child, overconfidence, it didn't matter what you said, how many times you warned her, she would do it anyway to see for herself. He admired her tenacious attitude, yet, it aided her stubbornness and sometimes, she was like a brick wall when you needed to talk to her.

"The store of life isn't the perfect store." Michael said. He was talking from experience, life was not balanced unfortunately. If you were so intent and focused on finding one thing, life would throw several other distractions and harm at you.

"I you can get different clothes, sizes and they won't still fit you." Charlie added, he sighed.

"And what makes you so sure that it won't?" Lulu asked.

Dom almost cackled, there Lulu was, showing her true nature of being a very annoying person to talk to. Sure they were speaking in parables, yet they all knew what exactly they were talking about.

Dom glanced at Natasha, she remained as silent as he and Nine did, however, he could see in her eyes that she wanted to say something but she would wait till everyone was done speaking before she did.

"That's because your type of man is probably clean-cut, well kept, six figure salary and has a car." Michael laughed.

"That's true, why would I waste my time with men that don't have a direction in which they are going?" she asked as if stating the obvious.

"Yes, but there are men who might have no direction now, but they will in the future." Nine chipped in.

"And what makes you so sure about that?" she asked.

"Well because Charlie was one of them, look at him now." Nine said as Dom laughed, he couldn't help it. How could he remain calm when Nine had dissed Charlie in such a poetic manner.

Sure, he was trying to make a good point, the only downside was that poor Charlie had to be the subject of despair.

"Hey!" Charlie turned to Nine and frowned. Dom took one look at Charlie and he truly felt bad for him, however, he could not help but continue to laugh because it was true.

Out of all of them, when they were younger, Charlie was the only one who did not know what he wanted to do. He simply just followed them to all their classes, got the same degree as they did, yet, he never truly had a passion for business.

It was only recently that he decided for the sake of the smooth running of the family business to be involved with the others. At this point, Dom was still sure that Charlie didn't know what he truly wanted.

"It's the truth though, you had no idea what you wanted to do in university and you still don't have an idea, at least you're better than before." Nine said, he was not afraid to tell the truth.

"Alright, you know what, I don't know why you're all talking about my love life, let's move on." Lulu said frowning. The last thing she wanted was for her siblings to talk about her love life and what sort of man she would like, it was all so embarrassing.

"Wait, wait, wait I agree with Lulu, we shouldn't talk about this anymore." Natasha said.

"Thank you Natasha." Lulu said.

"But I want us to clarify something, forsaking quality and interest because you can't find your size is a compromise which shouldn't be so." She said.

"I agree that there's no perfect person on this earth, but there is someone close to the ideal person you wish to spend the rest of your life with."

"But when you've been searching for so long and you get tired to the extent you just choose the first person who comes your way is just stupid." She said seriously.

"Never rush into a relationship no matter how sure you are, or how doubtful you are because definitely in the future you are going to regret it." She said, Dom nodded, he agreed with her.

"It's better to be alone rather than spending the rest of your life with someone who is not on the same page as you."

"Sure, divorce is an option, but it can't replace the wasted years, the good memories and even the children you have from that relationship. I guess what I'm saying is never compromise your ideals because of someone."

"Only when you're sure, absolutely sure then you can decide if you're ready to sacrifice some things for the person you choose, because in a real relationship, there's no such thing as compromise, but sacrifice for the sake of the other person." She said.

"That's just what I think." She said.

"Thanks for that Natasha, really, it makes so much more sense when you put it like that." Lulu said as she gave Natasha a hug.

"I agree, you put it nicely Natasha." Michael, Charlie, Nine and Dom agreed.

Natasha simply smiled, that was just what was on her mind. She was once young like Lulu before, she wished she had listened to her dad when he advised her against marrying Dom.

She just did not want Lulu to feel confused or pushed by anybody to make a decision that she would have to live with for the rest of her life.

"Okay, moving on, it's getting really late now, don't you think?" Lulu asked.

"Oh, you're not smooth at all Lulu, not smooth at all." Charlie laughed, she was trying to get rid of them, well they were not going to leave any time soon.
