In Heaven
A golden light shimmered softly in the endless sky, casting a warm glow over everything. Cici stood before God, his fists clenched as he gazed at the fragile baby lying before him. She was small and weak, her tiny chest rising and falling with difficulty. Though she slept, her face was tense, and she mumbled in her dreams, her little hands twitching as if trying to hold onto something unseen.
Cici (pleading): God, she's getting weaker… Please, help her!
God's expression remained calm but heavy with sorrow.
God: I wish I could, Cici. But I cannot.
Cici's breath caught in his throat. His wings twitched in frustration.
Cici: Why not?! Can't you see she's in pain? He pointed at the baby, his voice cracking.
The baby whimpered, her voice barely above a whisper.
Baby (murmuring): I don't want to die… Please… don't let them kill me…
Cici swallowed hard, his heart aching. He turned to God, his voice shaking.
Cici: She's suffering. If You have the power to help her, why won't You?
God exhaled slowly, sorrow reflected in His eyes.
God: It is time, Cici.
Cici's stomach twisted. He took a step forward, his pulse racing.
Cici: Time for what?
God lifted a hand, and a soft light surrounded the baby. Cici's breath hitched as he saw her tiny form shimmer and flicker, as if she was fading.
Cici (panicked): What's happening to her?!
God: She is leaving… because she is about to be born.
Cici's mind reeled. He stared at the baby, then back at God.
Cici (whispering): Born? But she's here… How can she—?
God's gaze was gentle ye
God's gaze softened as He looked at Cici. His voice was calm but carried the weight of something important.
God: Cici, I need to ask you one thing.
Cici nodded firmly, ready for anything.
God: Do you want to be with the baby?
Cici didn't even hesitate.
Cici: Yes.
A knowing smile played on God's lips, but there was something solemn in His eyes.
God: Then I will send you to Earth… to protect her and her mother.
Cici's heart pounded. Protect them? He didn't know how, but he knew he would do it. He had to.
Cici (determined): I'll do it.
God let out a slow sigh, gazing at the glowing horizon of Heaven.
God: When the time comes, I will tell you what you need to do. Until then… be patient.
Cici nodded, even though he hated waiting. He glanced back at the baby, watching her tiny form flicker like a fading star.
God (quietly): We only have three weeks.
Cici stiffened, his hands balling into fists.
Cici (whispers): Three weeks… That's all the time she has?
God didn't answer right away. Instead, He simply watched the baby, as if seeing something beyond what Cici could understand.
God: Yes. And we must be ready.
Cici swallowed hard and took one last look at the baby before turning back to God.
Cici: But… can I ask You something?
God gave a gentle nod, His gaze patient and understanding.
God: Ask me.
Cici took a deep breath, his voice quieter this time.
Cici: Why does she cry all the time? And… what about her dreams?
God's expression darkened slightly, the weight of His knowledge pressing down on the air around them.
God: Because her past life was cruel. Painful. She suffered more than most… and there were those who wanted her dead.
Cici felt his chest tighten. He turned to the baby, watching her small body tremble even in sleep. A shiver ran down his spine.
Cici (whispers): And now… she's dying?
God sighed, nodding slowly.
God: Yes.
Cici clenched his fists, anger and frustration bubbling inside him.
Cici: And You're just watching from here?!
His voice cracked, filled with helplessness. He had always believed that God could do anything. That He could change fate if He wanted to. So why… why wasn't He stopping this?
God remained calm, His gaze steady as He met Cici's eyes.
God: Fate is not something I can change, Cici. But I do not simply watch. When she is reborn, we will protect her. You will protect her.
Cici swallowed hard, his emotions swirling inside him. He looked down at the baby again, reaching out to gently brush a lock of hair from her tiny forehead.
Cici (softly): She doesn't deserve this…
God's voice was quiet but certain.
God: No, she doesn't. But that is why she must live again. So she can find the happiness that was stolen from her.
Cici exhaled shakily, his resolve hardening.
Cici: Then… I won't let anything happen to her.
Cici's gaze shifted from the baby to God, hesitation flickering in his eyes before he finally spoke.
Cici: What about the father? Are You going to tell me who he is?
God remained silent for a moment, as if choosing His words carefully. His gaze was distant, watching something only He could see.
God: Maybe… But it depends on what the baby and Y/N choose. They deserve a happy life, and their future is not set in stone.
Cici frowned, frustration creeping into his voice.
Cici: Then why don't You just tell me? Maybe I can—
God's voice was firm, cutting him off.
God: No, Cici.
Cici's breath caught. There was something heavy in the way God spoke, something unsettling.
Cici (whispers): Why not?
God looked down toward Earth, His expression unreadable.
God: Because right now… he is lost. Confused. And if he crosses paths with Y/N too soon, he will hurt her.
Cici's stomach twisted.
Cici: Hurt her? His fists clenched. Why?
God exhaled, His eyes filled with an emotion Cici couldn't quite name.
God: I don't know yet. But we will find out soon.
Cici swallowed hard, his heart pounding. He looked back at the baby, so small and fragile, unaware of the storm waiting for her on Earth.
Cici (muttering): Then I'll make sure she doesn't get hurt.
God's gaze softened, but He said nothing. Because deep down, they both knew—some things were meant to happen, no matter how much they wanted to stop them.
