Chapter 55 - CHAPTER 55

Shadow widened his eyes as he saw Josh's body split in two and collapse onto the ground. Shadow regained his composure and stared at Mikael in front of him, who was smiling while holding a sword in his right hand and his left hand behind his back.

'How? I didn't see him swing his sword even once!' Shadow thought to himself, with anxiety clearly visible on his face.

Shadow immediately assumed a defensive position. The Daggers, who were clearly still confused about what had happened to Josh, observed Shadow's defensive stance and decided to follow suit, remaining on guard with the person in front of them.

Mikael thrust his sword into the ground again and said with a serious tone, "I'll give you another chance. Tell me everything you know, and I'll let every one of you go."

When Mikael uttered those words, Shadow didn't believe that Mikael would really let every one of the Daggers go. He glanced around at his members and saw that all of them nodded in understanding. He even saw some of them smile at him.

At this point, Shadow knew that his mission had failed, and he also knew what would happen to him and his comrades. Shadow then suddenly thought of his mate, who was waiting for his return in the bookstore. He closed his eyes for a second and said to himself, 'Forgive me, my love.'

He is no longer anxious and afraid as before and stares at Mikael. He suddenly takes an offensive stance and shouts, "Attack!"

...

( MC POV )

"I'll give you another chance. Tell me everything you know, and I'll let every one of you go."

I said that to him because I already had a plan. I wanted him to return to his base of operations because I had already planted my inner energy on the bald guy in front of me ever since he approached me while I was in my meditative position. I planned to directly come to them and solve the problem at its roots.

But it looks like it failed because after I said that, I noticed the bald man in front of me, who appeared to be the leader of the group, deep in thought. I observed him scanning his companions and then fixing his gaze on me.

I then saw him smiling like a madman and suddenly shouted, "Attack!"

I immediately felt multiple killing intents directed towards me. I then focused my gaze on the bald man in front of me and shook my head in disappointment because I had not obtained the information I wanted.

*SIGH*

"It's a pity."

I already knew that these guys couldn't offer me anything ever since I rejected their offer to join their organization in the beginning. However, I noticed a woman among these men and saw her running when they decided to encircle me. I have been observing her closely ever since and monitoring her movements.

I sense that she hasn't left the mountain range that far and I can still catch up to her. I then picked up my sword from the ground and decided to finish them all with one move.

'Heavenly Demon Divine Art...'

'Second Stance...'

'Oblivion!'

*SWOOSH*

The surrounding environment immediately loses its color, as if it has forgotten the color it was supposed to be in. The snow has turned gray, the blackest moon hangs in the sky accompanied by the stars that are shining dark in the darkest night the night has ever been.

This is Oblivion, a technique that I have learned and managed to enhance from the original Heavenly Demon Divine Art - Colorless World. The difference between Colorless World and Oblivion is that Colorless World could only remain for a minute and didn't do any damage to the opponent; its purpose was only to stun the enemy for a minute. In Murim, even if it is just a minute, it can lead to your death.

But Oblivion, the one that I have created, is different. It not only stuns the enemy for as long as your energy can hold on, but it also damages their internal and external organs. For example, it causes them to lose their senses and stamina. This technique is perfect for fighting multiple enemies or when I am surrounded and alone facing them.

I then glanced around at the people surrounding me who had frozen in place. I even heard some cracking noises coming from them. I then decided to close my eyes and switch my attention to the woman who was running.

The reason why I could sense her even though she wasn't near me was because I cultivated internal energy, and the energy came from nature. To put it simply, when you are one with nature, you become nature.

*CRACK*

When I heard the final crack, I opened my eyes and saw the bald man in front of me, who had a crazed smile on his face. I decided to finish him off by severing his head.

*SLASH*

I then cancelled my technique and put my sword back in my storage ring. After that, the surrounding environment returned to its original color, and then I glanced at the corpses and snapped my fingers.

*SNAP*

I saw the corpses burning at a rapid rate until nothing remained of them. It was my Divine Fire, one of the Heavenly treasures that I managed to acquire when I was in Murim. It has the ability to burn everything, including the soul of my opponent if my realm is higher than theirs.

I then fixed my gaze in a certain direction and, without waiting any longer, I chased after the woman who was fleeing from the scene. After about thirty seconds, I was already in the sky above her, but she hadn't realized it yet.

I observed her from the sky and noticed that she was carrying something. I then used a concealment technique and approached her closely.

'Is that a camera?'

It appeared to be a camera, but it looked advanced. The camera was neither small nor big. She carried it in her hand like a shopping bag, and it was very steady. After enough observation, I decided it was time to intercept her.
