Chapter 23 - Freedom

(Eleven years ago)

"You know Ishmael,'' Neva peered up at the clear and cloudless sky. Scarlet, lilac, coral colours scattering above, the twilight dawn painted a peaceful dream.

Swarm of birds flying designed a perfect hope, birthing a spark of glow in her heart.

"One day we will be free too." Neva tore away her gaze from the perpetual beauty of the nature, landing on the boy by her side.

Mirroring her approach of absorbing nature, her gleaming orbs ignited flames in Ishmael's heart.

The little sweethearts were resting on a clear grassy meadow by a tree, with weeds and flower beds adorning the scenery.

Breezy wind flurrying in the spring evening, below the cliff was a river hued cerulean and emerald.

Seven year old Neva bloomed for the day she would savour the sweetness of freedom.

She always believed, beyond the Island of Miraeth, there existed more than one could visualise.

"We will escape together Neva." Ishmael emitted, seeing her through.

Neva giggled. "We will forever be together."

(Present Year)

Ishmael was in his study room, seated on his chair, considering the men accross the room.

"Start it." Ishmael ruled at the professional technocrat.

Zev guided the man to the table, and unclosed the safe presenting the Ruhd.

Ishmael wore a calm demeanour, but his heart was jumbled up.

It was the moment; that would deem his future.

Ruhd was a treacherous red samples of fluid stored in a protected capsule. A life threatening virus with a symptom of fever, slowly eating away, failing the vital organs.

No vaccines were ever made for Ruhd.

Ishmael schemed to threaten the president of Erriador, abducting his daughter Lily and hundreds of other hostages for the sole purpose of getting a hold on Ruhd.

He calculated the authorities would not hand him the Ruhduncomplicated.

It was a threat to humanity, and Raka was a menace himself.

He prepared his elite group to purloin the Ruhd, had they made a move to rescue the hostages.

In the 94th floor in the tower of Worthon located in Erriador, Ruhd was safeguarded in one of the world's most secure vault. It would only open with the president's finger print.

When he arrived his way to the hotel Aurora. Surely the President came prepared, with high level security in the shadows. Nonetheless, his men were non-ameteur.

The moment some Agents of EIS infiltrated Raka's lair to rescue the captured, Ishmael motioned his foremost strategy.

President was ambushed on his way, and the hidden guards injured and killed.

That's how he got his hands on Ruhd.

The technocrat never unlocked the capsule, but cloned the confidential trace abided in the dactylogram sensor.

Ruhdwas created by Dr. Neal Noe.

And he had divulged from his way of source that the capsule only opened with his daughter's fingerprint.

That was why he got his hands on something so fragile, yet dangerous. He was searching for Dr. Neal Noe's daughter.

Later it was exploited by Dr. Draco Earl.

Following Draco Earl's illegal act, Erriador broke out in flood of bloods.

Before long, Neal Noe produced a vaccine prior to the disaster that could befall the state.

Draco Earl subsequently mutated the Ruhd. But before he could strike a catastrophe for the second time, he was incarcerated, later sentenced to death for his offences. And the vaccines were never made.

At present, Raka possesed Ruhd.

The mayhem Ishmael created was never his alternative. The Ruhd was not necessary.

But the capsule.

The reason being: Neal Noe's daughter's impression retained in the scanner.

Her finger print was the password.

Her traces still left in it, utilizing the circumstances, Ishmael's motive was to operate her identification to hunt her down ends of the world, through innovation.

Unknown minutes elapsed, the technology exploring dactylograms around the World Wide Web.

Ishmael had his heart aching, highly strung, his being drowning in nervousness.

"Sir a person has been found matched." The technocrat announced.

Ishmael resembled a ghost without a soul.

On the other hand, Zev frowned at Ishmael's expression.

He was always searching for this specific woman. For he realized he had seen him becoming a different man everytime he would ask Manager Cha was she had been found. The pain in his always expressionless face he could never ignore each time Mr. Cha revealed his sorry face.

All this years, she hadn't been found, and he even tried as far as to not assume that his boss had not really gone nuts and she was not just an illusion of his.

"Her name is Neva Mae." The man shared.

Ishmael's heart skipped a beat.

Yes, it was her.

His Neva. His dear Neva.

Ishmael sucked in a sharp, shaky breath. His hands beginning to tremble.

Planting a breath, he had long forgotten he required.

"What was her name?" Ishmael inquired swallowed.

"It's Neva Mae Sir, she's enrolled in a university located in country Erriador." He replied.

Although, her surname had his chest sunk and hesitating, disregarding his bitter thoughts, he stood up, trudging towards the technocrat.

"Show me." Ishmael said, taking a seat on the couch.

The man rotated the notebook computer, revealing a beautiful girl's face.

Ishmael glanced at the screen.

His heart skipped a beat, mollifying and lightened so euphoricly.

Neva's face was drawn in his sight.

Yes. She was the person he had longed for, for forever.

She had always been beautiful nevertheless. The woman she grew up to be was ethereal.

"Is she really alive?" Zev unconsciously queried.

A delighted Ishmael only ignored him.

"Double his payment." Ishmael declared.

"Yes Raka." Zev responded.

"Thank you Sir." The technocrat said.

Greeting Ishmael, he was walked out with Zev escorting him out.

Ishmael has his muscles stiffened, shaking off the frost, he delved into the cyberspace.

However, she was closed off to the world.

Scarce presence in social platform.

He was afraid if it was a dream. Her absence felt; everlasting for him.

Overwhelmed with emotions, he wished to be with her once more. Swarming his cold heart with warm sensation, he felt drizzle of waters surging in his lightened orbs.
