Chapter Nine
Samantha Wood took advantage of his momentary relaxation and forcefully pushed him away.
"Lucas Graham, what happened between us was a mistake, and I hope you'd better forget it, because sooner or later I will become your sister-in-law. To avoid awkwardness when we meet in the future, please pretend you don't know me next time," she said decisively, tidying up her clothes, grabbing her purse, and standing up to walk towards the door.
After only a few steps, she heard him ask, "Do you love him?"
Samantha's heart skipped a beat. Love?
She had already forgotten what that feeling was like.
Yet, she said with a small smile, "Of course."
With that, she quickly left.
The door shut heavily.
Lucas sat there, unable to come to his senses for a long time.
She was going to marry someone else?
Lucas Graham, haven't you always thought that women are like clothes?
Once worn, they can be discarded. So why is it that with this one, you feel an impulse to keep her?
