"Huh?" As the moonlight in the night sky grew brighter, Robert raised an eyebrow in surprise. It wasn't because Nel's power increased or his injuries healed under the moonlight, but rather because the moonlight seemed to be not only enhancing Nel. The already dead Moon Knight, who had completely lost his breath, also appeared to be receiving the moonlight's enhancement...
"What's going on?" Robert's eyes fixed on the Moon Knight's body. The Moon Knight's body still showed no signs of life; the moonlight falling on him was like it was shining on a roadside stone.
However, Robert sensed something was amiss. It wasn't an abnormality detected by his senses but a logical inconsistency. If there was nothing unusual about the Moon Knight, the moonlight shouldn't fall on him for no reason.
Now that it was late at night, the only light source in the sky was the waning moon. Such moonlight wasn't enough to illuminate the ground, only barely allowing people to see their surroundings. But now there were two brighter beams of moonlight: one on Nel struggling in mid-air, and the other on the lifeless Moon Knight lying on the ground...
What Robert saw resembled a dim stage play suddenly illuminated by two spotlights, one on Nel and the other on the Moon Knight, with the Moon Knight's spotlight being even brighter.
This unmistakably indicated one thing: something was up with the Moon Knight. The true protagonist of the stage wouldn't die so easily!
Moreover, the Moon Knight had previously mentioned something about the Moon God. This moonlight seemed like the power of the Moon God, which made Robert even more attentive to every change in the Moon Knight.
"Hmm?" Upon closer observation, Robert finally noticed something unusual. The Moon Knight's body still showed no signs of life, but under the moonlight, his previously crushed heart began to heal, and even his body injuries slowly recovered.
However, this wasn't the most crucial observation. Robert sensed that spiritual power was continuously reviving within the Moon Knight, and he could even detect the spiritual fluctuations that originally belonged to the Moon Knight.
Strangely, there wasn't just one such spiritual fluctuation but two, somewhat similar yet different, fluctuating violently...
Especially under the moonlight, the Moon Knight's spiritual power became more pronounced, and his aura grew stronger, finally exhibiting signs of life.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
In no time, the Moon Knight suddenly sat up, gasping for air like someone just saved from drowning.
At this moment, the Moon Knight had truly revived, from death to life!
"Hmm? Where's that werewolf?" When the Moon Knight's consciousness returned, he quickly scanned the surroundings to find Nel. Clearly, he wasn't very experienced with his ability to revive, suggesting it wasn't his first time.
"Hmm? Did you take care of the werewolf?" The Moon Knight didn't look up to the sky and missed the battlefield between Kara and Nel. Instead, he noticed Robert observing him, frowned under his mask, and asked.
"Oh, you mean that werewolf? I didn't kill him. Look, he's right there..." Robert chuckled and shook his head, pointing to an empty spot nearby.
"Bang!" As Robert's words fell, Nel's body crashed to the ground, creating a large hole, with blood and body fragments scattered around, nourishing the recently bombarded earth.
Even with the moonlight's enhancement, which allowed Nel's combat power to increase slowly, it wasn't enough to match Kara's strength.
However, Nel's power boost wasn't entirely useless. At least he wasn't instantly blown apart by Kara. Instead, he struggled from being repeatedly knocked into outer space to being slammed into the ground, which was a success for Nel.
After all, Nel wouldn't receive more moonlight enhancement just by being closer to the moon. If Kara had indeed sent Nel to the moon, he wouldn't become stronger by appearing on it; he would likely die in space.
It's important to note that the moonlight the werewolves and the Moon Knight received wasn't actual moonlight or sunlight reflection but a kind of supernatural power beyond material science.
Otherwise, with current technological levels and werewolves' influence in Europe, they could have already launched a lunar expedition to experience the moon up close.
Although werewolves can't directly survive in space, their physical resilience far surpasses astronauts. With some protection, transforming into the first space wolf isn't impossible...
"What are you..." Nel, buried underground with his body shattered, looked up at the dim sky, his expression unwilling.
Nel didn't understand what he experienced tonight. He had been in his newly established base, planning to integrate quickly with the local werewolves and accelerate their growth, figuring out why America targeted them and preparing to retaliate...
But then, Mach contacted him about an urgent situation, and when Nel arrived, he found that Werewolf An ignored him. Nel transformed into a werewolf to teach him a lesson but was stopped by the self-proclaimed Moon Knight carrying the Moon God's will.
Facing a possible Moon God's believer, Nel hesitated to strike until Werewolf An was killed. Furious, Nel killed the Moon Knight to avenge An and then targeted Robert, only to be beaten by Kara to his current state...
Nel's life flashed before his eyes, and in his final moments, he just wanted to understand why he experienced this, but his wish wouldn't be fulfilled.
"Shh!" Kara released her heat vision, piercing through Nel's body and igniting it into ashes, merging into the earth.
"..." The Moon Knight watched in bewilderment, his expression under the mask confused and dazed, unable to react.
The Moon Knight even wondered if he was still in some limbo between life and death and that this wasn't reality...
After all, Nel had just killed him instantly with unimaginable speed. Now, Nel was beaten like a dead dog, leaving no complete body. This was too much for the Moon Knight's worldview.
The Moon Knight had seen extraordinary individuals before, but Nel was one of the strongest. When Nel killed him, the Moon Knight realized he underestimated Nel's power. Yet, Nel was so weak against Kara...
"Who are you people?" The Moon Knight hesitated, looking at Kara and Robert. Kara had flown beside Robert, and as they stood together, the Moon Knight slowly retreated.
It wasn't because he sensed hostility from Kara and Robert but because he couldn't grasp their attitude. These dangerous individuals were better kept at a distance.
Of course, the Moon Knight wasn't the only one affected. March and Blade, who were slightly away from the battlefield, were also impacted.
Earlier, both had moved away due to Kara's unexpected power, and neither anticipated her strength to be so overwhelming, leading to Nel's death.
Compared to Blade, March was more anxious, as all his companions were dead, leaving him alone without a quick escape from Blade.
Yes, March had considered fleeing since Kara's fight began, but Blade knew vampires too well, anticipating March's every escape attempt with UV light, sunlight, silver weapons, and even garlic-infused weapons, leaving March vexed.
March had also considered killing Blade and leaving, but Blade wasn't easy to kill. Equipped with armor and anti-vampire measures, Blade's gear was more specialized than Tony Stark's suit.
Thus, despite March's fear and desire to flee, he was restricted by Blade. As the fight progressed, March's injuries increased, further weakening him.
So, March's defeat and death seemed inevitable...
"Don't worry, we mean no harm. We're not exactly good... or bad people..." On the other side, Robert smiled and shook his head at the Moon Knight, almost misspeaking, earning a glare from Kara.
"We were just passing by and happened to encounter vampires and werewolves causing trouble, so we dealt with them. We didn't expect more people to arrive..." Robert continued, watching the Moon Knight.
"When you appeared, you mentioned the werewolves stealing the Moon God's power. So, are you the Moon God's emissary? Which pantheon does the Moon God belong to? What's his name? How can we meet him?"
"..." Robert's questions stunned the Moon Knight, who didn't know how to answer and questioned if these were even answerable.
"I have other matters to attend to. Perhaps other werewolves need dealing with, so I'll take my leave..." The Moon Knight, feeling Robert wanted something from him, nodded and pretended to be busy, preparing to leave.
"Werewolves? If you can provide their whereabouts, I can help you handle them. With your weak strength, simply reviving might not suffice in the European werewolf stronghold..." Robert said, seeing the Moon Knight's intent to leave. The Moon Knight didn't look back.
Robert didn't know the Moon Knight's thoughts. He wasn't genuinely seeking out werewolves under the Moon God's orders. This time was a coincidence. Constantly fighting werewolves would be exhausting.
Robert's reasoning made sense. Who knows how many powerful werewolves exist? He couldn't even handle a random werewolf, and despite his revival ability, there was no need to throw his life away.
Werewolves aren't normal humans. If they kill him and devour his body, he's done for...
"You mentioned the werewolves stealing the Moon God's power. Does this count as stealing?" Robert, seeing the Moon Knight still intent on leaving, tested his earlier theory.
