Ajuka
Ajuka Beelzebub sat at the grand dining table in Nazarick, surrounded by the highest-ranking devils of the Underworld. The room was filled with the rich aroma of exotic delicacies, dishes that none of them had ever seen or tasted before.
From dragon meat to heavenly fruits, and desserts so decadent that even those who had experienced the finest luxuries of the world felt awestruck.
Sirzechs, Serafall, Rias, Akeno, Issey, Asia, Koneko, Kiba, Sona, Tsubaki and Sona's rest of the peerage were all thoroughly enjoying the feast. Even Grayfia, known for her refined taste, seemed pleasantly surprised by the dishes in front of her.
For the top powers of the Underworld, it was a rare experience to encounter something completely new. Yet here, in Nazarick, they felt as if they had barely scratched the surface of the true wonders that existed beyond their realm.
However, while everyone else indulged in the feast prepared by Alex, there was one figure who was notably still, barely touching his food—Ajuka Beelzebub.
Ajuka's sharp green eyes flickered with unease, a stark contrast to the calm demeanour he pretending to display. He hadn't taken a single bite of the lavish meal, nor had he said much since the dinner began. Instead, his attention was fixated on the horror known as Alexander Seductus Von Mortis and his subordinates.
Ajuka's unique ability, his "Calculation Demonic Power," allowed him to perceive the true essence of beings and objects. What he had glimpsed during their brief interaction with Alex and his subordinates had left him shaken.
Beneath the calm, composed exterior of Alexander, Ajuka had sensed something far more terrifying—a darkness so deep and overwhelming that it threatened to suffocate him just by being near it.
The aura that radiated from Alex was unlike anything Ajuka had ever encountered. It was cold, calculating, and utterly ruthless. His subordinates, particularly the Guardians, were equally fearsome, each of them prepared to kill all of them present here without hesitation if their master willed it.
Ajuka had seen it all—the layers of power, the intricate calculations, the immense threat that Alex posed, not just to the Underworld, but to any world he set his sights on. It wasn't that Alex flaunted his strength; in fact, he rarely displayed it openly.
But for someone like Ajuka, who could see through the veils of power, it was all too clear. They were in the presence of someone far beyond their understanding.
As Alex casually engaged in conversation with Sirzechs, Serafall and rest, his demeanour friendly and composed, Ajuka's sense of dread deepened. He could tell that Alex was measuring them all, calculating their value, their potential, and their weaknesses. There was no malice, but the sheer capability Alex possessed made him incredibly dangerous.
Finally, Alex turned to them with a smile, his was voice calm yet authoritative. "I hope you've all enjoyed the dinner. If you'd like, you're welcome to stay in Nazarick for the evening. We have more rooms prepared, and it would be my honour to host such esteemed guests."
Before Sirzechs could respond, Ajuka quickly leaned over, his voice was low but urgent. "Sirzechs, we need to leave. Now."
Sirzechs raised an eyebrow, clearly taken aback by Ajuka's tone. "Ajuka, what—?"
"Now," Ajuka repeated, more forcefully this time. His eyes darted around the room, taking in the eerie calmness of the Guardians, their expressions were unreadable yet vigilant. "I've seen enough. We cannot stay here any longer."
Sirzechs frowned, clearly confused by his friend's sudden anxiety, but he trusted Ajuka's instincts. After all, Ajuka wasn't one to act out of fear or paranoia. If he said they needed to leave, then something was deeply wrong.
Sirzechs was about to reply when Serafall, who had been thoroughly enjoying the meal, cut in cheerfully. "Of course, we'd love to stay! And, Yuri-chan, could I get one more bowl of whatever this is?" she added with a playful tone, holding up her bowl. The formalities of the meeting were over, and Serafall's carefree nature resurfaced. Being Alex's lover, she felt at ease, showing her usual bubbly self.
But the moment Serafall addressed the maid so casually, using a tone that reflected her closeness with Alex, Ajuka's unease spiked. His hands began to sweat again as he quickly glanced at Alex, searching for any sign of discomfort or displeasure. Instead, he was met with Alex's usual smile—warm and serene on the surface, but to Ajuka, it felt darker, more controlled, almost calculated.
Ajuka's instincts screamed at him to leave immediately. Staying in Nazarick any longer could spell trouble, even if the others didn't seem to notice it yet. He leaned over to Sirzechs once again and whispered, "We can't stay. We need to return to the Underworld now."
Sirzechs gave him a curious look but seeing the seriousness in Ajuka's eyes nodded slowly. He trusted his friend's judgment, especially when it came to sensing danger.
Since Serafall had already made the decision, Sirzechs could do little but follow. "Actually," Sirzechs said, "Ajuka and I need to return to the Underworld. So, we'll be heading out. But if the others wish to stay, they're welcome to."
Alex's gaze shifted to Sirzechs, and for a moment, a flicker of something passed behind his eyes. Then, with a slight tilt of his head, he replied smoothly, "Of course, I wouldn't want to keep you from your duties. But the rest are welcome to enjoy the hospitality of Nazarick for as long as they'd like."
