Chapter 10 - chapter 10

Arc thought to himself, but realized that he has completely his foundation plan, all he has left is to cultivate

Arc sat on his bed and just as he was beginning to cultivate he realized that he had yet to name his technique

After thinking for a while he settled on the name "Wyrm sutra codex", because of the earth dragon portion of the technique as well as the fact that it sounded cool

Arc looked down and began to activate the process in which the technique rotates qi from every cell, and digs into the bones and muscle tempering them

As this was happening his ki would revolve around his dantain being purified by qi

Arc began absorbing spirit energy and world qi endlessly flowed into his body

It seemed as though he became a black hole as no energy escaped his grasp

His realm though didn't seem to understand that it was supposed to increase his qi condensation level

It actually decreased becoming qi condensation stage one yet none of his power was lost for it all condensated forming this extremely powerful foundation

Arc continued to cultivate and he felt him body become more powerful as time passed, his energies became increasingly pure

Lighting wrapped around the earth elements within his body causing him to convulse

His original cultivation technique had been fused into the new one causing the lighting tempering to not only remain, but it was further amplified

As the technique had several layers of purification as each turn significantly increasing the energy expenditure

Arc faced no penalty for such a technique though has he has near infinite amount to energy to absorb from sun light as well as the other energies in the atmosphere

Arc continued to cultivate for the rest of the day

The energies then would slowly begin to mix and blend together, until at one point his body will instinctively blend the energy automatically in one in the dantain

The next step would go above that and rather than instinctively blending together; they would be permanently fused together

This would be difficult and Arc theorized that it will only truly fuse together when merged within the golden core stage

Arc decided that he would temporarily refer to the combination of these energies as mana until he can think of something better

After cultivating Arc decided to take a break as his wyrm sutra codex was extremely taxing on the body

Arc decided to dedicate this time to drawing,

He grabbed his notebook and countless images flew through his mind many old, many new,

Arc found his eyes began to water as he looked inwards to find inspiration to draw and he couldn't help but remember his past life, the good and the bad

Reincarnation was fun, and he felt joy and love in this world, but he couldn't help but miss everything that he lost,

his pen moved slowly and steadily, yet his other hand shook, he felt the tears running down his face as he drew something that had much importance to his past

He drew sections of his life, its seemed like a shattered glass that reflected each individual thing that he had lost

Within the pieces one could see his home, the silhouette of his family, and friends, and all the memories he made with them

Then halfway through the drawing it stopped breaking, it was in once piece, for it has yet to be lost

He drew his new home, he drew the silhouette of Aurora and the librarian, he drew the home he lived in the outer sect,

The tears stopped flowing when he reached the second half of the drawing, he was aware that he has lost much and he has gained much

He knows that it will probably not be possible to return to earth, but that doesn't mean he should forget about his roots,

He is from earth, his name may have changed, his blood may have changed, his soul may have changed, but this truth will never change

Arc hand began to slow as he reached the bottom he then wrote

'Archean of the black mountain sect'

He looked deeply into the painting, his breathing became heavy before slowly returning to a calm, he looked up and it was obvious that he had cried

He snapped his fingers and his ki made the painting burst into flames, as his eyes were filled with resolve

"Thankyou"

He muttered lightly to seemingly no one in particular, before clearing up the ashes

He felt better after that drawing, it helped resolve some of the pent up emotions he was feeling

Arc stood up and left his room, he was hungry, all these memories had made him nostalgic, he was craving a taste of his home

He walked towards the kitchen and began preparing some food, he grabbed a few potatoes and cut them the long way, he then mixed them in certain spices

After that he grabbed some beef, and prepared a few patties,

He began seasoning them, shaping them

He took out a pot and filled it with oil, and dropped the potatoes, that were now french fries, he then set the prepared the grill and began cooking the patties

He grilled the burgers, and the assembled them, unlike last time he had buns made this time, so he put the burgers together

After a while the fries also finished, and Arc put his plate together, a few burgers and plenty of french fries, a good reminder of this home

Arc sat down and began to eat calmly it tasted much better than the first time he made burgers

Suddenly a voice appeared behind him

"What do we have here"

Arc turned when he heard the voice, it was an old man, Arc has never seen him before, but considered their location he is mostly a grand elder

Arc bowed his head lightly as he spoke

 "grand elder"

The old man seemed amused, as he spoke

"You must be Arc, i've heard much about you, this is our first time meeting so I'll introduce myself, i am luton"

Arc's eyes went wide this was luton, the strongest in the sect, a nascent soul cultivator

Before Arc could interject luton continued to speak

"Your painting method of understanding the soul, was quite novel, i wish i had learned it when i was a golden core"

" When I broke through my nascent soul was fairly weak, compared to the same level cultivators, so I had no choice, but to research spellcraft, to have comparable strength"

"But with this, I could possibly repair my foundation, no promises yet, but if it does work, you've done a great service to the sect"

Luton nodded slightly as he spoke before reaching into his spirit ring and handing a book over to Arc

Arc looked at the book and say that it was a painting technique,

"A painting technique?"

Luton began explaining

" I see you have potential in painting, that in itself is a form of cultivation, thus it is possible to get certain techniques that have certain effects"

" I got that one as soon as I heard about your painting, it was rather annoying as I had to head to the central continent"

Luton rubbed his head seemingly remembering a annoying thing

Arc bowed and gave thanks to luton

" don't worry about it, if you learn anything from the book, just pass me a painting as a gift"

He spoke lightly with a laugh before heading off

Arc looked at the book and felt excited and began reading it, it detailed movement of qi, meridian to activate, and so much more

It seemed like a key to a new world to Arc, most of it he couldn't yet understand, but he knew that if he mastered the technique in the book he would become an expert painter

"I wasn't even that good at painting on earth, I have basically just relying on my super high physical abilities"

"this book focuses on the technical aspects of painting, and combining that with the cultivation aspects"

Arc muttered as he read the book seemingly enchanted, it seemed to cover all the basic information someone who wanted to become a better painter would know

Then the basic information looped into the advance information, it was well formatted and Arc couldn't help but feel whoever wrote this book was a master of the craft

Arc immediately headed to his room, and began practicing, unlike before he wasn't drawing anything in particular, he was just practicing the techniques written in the book

A better way to blend the colors, way to imbue your aura to change the effects of colors, a way to make the image move

"Ha that's interesting, by using my aura, I can make certain images appear and disappear, so by layering pictures, I could technically animate something"

Arc giggled lightly

He continued to practice all sorts of strange and interesting methods, and found that each of them seemed funner than the last

He decided to test out the "animation" technique he didn't use that many layers only around 30 but he caused it to loop making it appear though the drawn person would walk forever, or at the very least until the painting ran out of qi

"That's pretty cool"

Arc spoke casually as he continued to practice, this was fun and he was learning new ways to paint, these are techniques that do not exist on earth

He continued to practice and draw as time flew by two weeks pass in a blink of an eye,

During this time Arc had remained within the sect he continued to cultivate and paint, and would occasionally spar with Aurora or the spirit bear

Actually at one point he rode on the back of the spirit bear, and they fought in unison against Aurora, though that being their first time ever attempting to fight together, there was no real teamwork

Aurora easily defeated them without needing to rely on her higher cultivation

That motivated the bear to continue practicing, as he was very much annoyed that he has yet to win a fight since becoming a spirit beast

Currently Arc was painting using several techniques he learned in the book, his pen ran fast and he didn't once dip it in ink, his aura changed color freely and blended forming new colors and patterns

When Arc finished the painting he put down his pen and became admiring what he had drew, it was another painting of Aurora,

he learned his lesson from last-time didn't attempt to draw her soul, even though he didn't draw the soul the quality of this painting surpassed the rest he has made, reaching a much higher level

Arc looked deeply into the picture, with a big smile on his face before, thinking to himself

'I've gotten much better at painting, if i were on earth i could quite easily had become one of the greatest painters in the world'

He then headed towards the forge, as he had gotten an idea of something he could attempt to forge

"If this works it would be pretty cool"

Arc said excitedly

He has been hard at work these past 2 weeks and has decided to reward himself by making something he had seen in a novel

After arriving to the forge he entered the room and found that his forge aid seemed terrified, he spoke quietly and seemed to not want to be in a room with Arc

This treatment reminded arc that currently he is a cord disciple, ordinary disciples have to walk around on thin ice to not offend them

It seems that the sect master still had his work cut out for him, he has been doing his best to limit the hatred between the ranks within the sect to prevent infighting,

Cultivator's by nature want to be superior than others after all they are only human

"Prepare the Earth fire, and bring out meteorite, runic iron, and purple gold"

Arc spoke quickly, as he was ready to forge, and this would be the most complicated build yet

While his aid prepared the forge and materials Arc made several molds that would be used

The molds were of sheets of metal, as well as gears and other parts

The fire burned bright as the metals mixed and fused, Arc fueled the liquid metal with endless pure spirit qi, increasing the quality of the metal

Arc poured the metal within the various molds that he created, the aid was closely behind him quietly wondering what Arc was making

Arc's mana flooded endlessly blending into the materials, his control over his aura has increased significantly due to his painting practice

This aura blended nicely into the metal allowing it to be tempered and hardened, making it suitable for the purpose Arc had in mind

What exactly was Arc making? That would be a boat, or rather a flying boat,

Though he had no real need for it, this was for fun, as well as an experiment for possible mechanisms, he can use in future endeavors

After the metals within the molds all cooled down Arc pulled them out of and began organizing them individually,

He then grabbed the large metal sheets and began heating sections and hammering them to shape,

After the sheets took the form that he wanted he lined them up having that aid hold them in place allowing him to weld the sheets together,

Due to being an earth element cultivator his understanding of Earth and metal are astonishing,

he has no need for a welding machine, using his own aura creates stronger and quicker weld,

The only difference from his welds of before, this time he used no filler metal, he directly used his aura to fuse the materials,

a combination of technique's one he learned from Aurora and another he learned in the Art book, it was an idea he had and it worked quite well,

"Perfect, now that's the easy part done"

Arc spoke cheerfully and began to work on the next step, he placed together various parts from the molds he had created

This part was much more complicated, as not only did he have to place all the pieces together, he took each individual piece and engraved markings upon them

Sweat ran down his face but his hand remained steady, the forge aid behind him seemed to have stopped breathing as he thought to himself

'These engraving are so detailed, how could he possibly do that so easily, no wonder he is a core disciple'

Arc engraves were not a cosmetic feature, they actually had a purpose. The engraving were formed of various runes that have certain effects when fueled with spirit qi

Arc had learned these in the Arc dao book, lots of the techniques written in the book used color and shading to blend in the runes without being visible

This allows the painting to gain certain abilities or have certain characteristics, that normally wouldn't be possible

Though the book specializes in art it has a complete runic language written within Arc used certain rune combinations that he believed would lead to a fast flying boat

After finishing the engravings, he began assembling the pieces into the parts that would be placed within the boat

The most difficult being something that looked to be a propeller, as well as long the steering mechanism he had miss calculated the size and caused it to be a tighter fit than he expected

"Well i could just add a ķðcæ rune, that would limit the friction so it wouldn't be an issue as long as the runes are frequently maintained"

Arc muttered to himself adding the new engraving, he moved the steering wheel and watched the change in direction on the propeller

"Yes that seems to be in working order"

Arc spoke happily

Arc took it apart and began to assemble them within the boat, he had done so outside to confirm any problems, with the problems being addressed he just had to assemble it

After fully assembling the boat it was now complete, and Arc being in a good mood, awarded the forge aid with some spirit stones

His eyes turned bright as he spoke

"Thank You sir"

Arc nodded slightly before placing the boat within his spirit ring and leaving the forge he rushed to the first peak ready to try out the boat

When he finally arrived he pull the boat out of his spirit ring, hopped inside and started channeling his mana within it

It took to the sky at first he couldn't maneuver quickly as he had no experience flying a boat,

but his control over his body, as well as his mana are extremely powerful leading him to quickly learn

"This is awesome!"

Arc flew around in circles and did flips and tricks, it seemed that he was louder than normal as a few people went out to see the commotion

Mia's eyes went wide and she spoke quickly

"That's so cool! Let me do it"

"Sure"

Arc obliged

This "taking turns" lasted quite a bit longer as the other students of the grand elders also thought it was cool

They had heard of a form spirit boat, but those are massive and need the cultivation of golden core or nascent soul to pilot, as they are used for realm and space traveling

they had never seen a small one like this, what he did is this world's equivalent of bringing a sports car to school and letting everyone drive and mess around with it

"Can i keep it, can i keep it"

Mia spoke expectantly after everyone else left

"Sure"

Arc said as he thought to himself

'I see a lot of points in which I could improve it, it wouldn't hurt to let her have this one and just make a better one'

"Thankyou"

Mia had a big smile as she took the spirit boat and flew off randomly

Arc decided to call it a day and went up to his room and went to bed
