Chapter 93 - Chapter 93

Chapter 93: Flanders' End

Fifteen minutes later, Ye Feng opened his eyes.

"What skills did you get?" Chen Xin asked.

"Awesome," Ye Feng muttered to himself, then summoned the Xuanyuan Sword. A black spirit ring appeared beneath his feet.

First Spirit Skill: Terrifying All Around.

A powerful golden sword energy burst from Ye Feng, radiating outward. The sudden force sent Ning Rongrong and Xiao Wu flying backward.

Both girls had plenty of combat experience, so after landing, they spun in place to dissipate the impact of Ye Feng's attack.

"Why does a 20,000-year-old spirit skill seem so weak?" Xiao Wu frowned.

Ye Feng smirked. "Idiot, you think I used its full power?"

"Then how much strength did you use just now?" Xiao Wu asked, curious.

"Twenty percent," Ye Feng said, holding up two fingers.

"Just twenty percent?! If I took that head-on, I'd have to use my Invincible True Body to defend against it!" Xiao Wu looked at Ye Feng in disbelief.

Ye Feng nodded casually.

"Terrifying All Around… isn't that Grandpa Jian's fifth spirit skill?" Ning Rongrong suddenly asked.

"That's right," Chen Xin confirmed. "Back then, my fifth spirit skill came from a ten-thousand-year-old Earthshaker Dragon. If I'm right, Ye Feng will gain two of my other spirit skills—Killing Aura and Ten Thousand Swords Returning to the Origin—from the One-Horned Sky Thunder Horse and the Ten Thousand Needle Silver Hedgehog."

Chen Xin's eyes flashed with expectation as he urged, "Disciple, next is the Silver Hedgehog. Its back is covered in spikes, but its weak point is ten inches below the neck."

Back in the day, Chen Xin had obtained Ten Thousand Swords Returning to the Origin from a Ten Thousand Needle Silver Hedgehog.

Following his master's instructions, Ye Feng moved to the second cage, pulled out his dagger, and swiftly ended the Silver Hedgehog's life. Then, he began absorbing its spirit ring. Afterward, he did the same with the One-Horned Sky Thunder Horse.

The Ten Thousand Needle Silver Hedgehog was 40,000 years old, and the One-Horned Sky Thunder Horse was 50,000 years old. Just as Chen Xin had predicted, Ye Feng gained the Killing Aura and Ten Thousand Swords Returning to the Origin skills.

Looking at the three lifeless spirit beasts before him, Ye Feng couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude. Other teachers took their disciples into the forest to hunt for spirit beasts. But his master? Chen Xin personally captured and delivered them to him.

With that thought, Ye Feng turned to Chen Xin. "Master, do you have a way to prevent twin spirit masters from exploding when they absorb spirit rings for their second martial spirit?"

Chen Xin gave him a meaningful look. "Have you forgotten? Besides you, there's one other person in Spirit Hall with twin spirits."

Ye Feng's eyes widened. "You mean her? She actually gave you a solution?"

Chen Xin nodded. "It was a trade."

"A trade?" Ye Feng frowned. "What kind of deal?"

"Don't worry. The transaction was harmless to me and the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect. But you, on the other hand, need to be cautious. With her intelligence, she'll definitely figure out why I wanted this information. Spirit Hall always tries to unite those who side with them and eliminate those who don't. If anyone from Spirit Hall approaches you, inform me immediately."

Chen Xin's voice was serious.

Ye Feng nodded. "Understood, Master."

"Good." Chen Xin's gaze softened. "I should be leaving now. I'll return when I find another suitable spirit beast for you."

As soon as he finished speaking, his figure flickered and vanished. A lingering silver light marked the spot where he had stood. His voice echoed in the air.

"Disciple, these three spirit beasts are extraordinary. Their remains will be useful to you—make good use of them."

The moment his voice faded, Ye Feng walked toward the corpses. Just as he was about to start dissecting them, Xiao Wu's voice rang out.

"Brother, they're already dead. Isn't it better to let them rest in peace?" Xiao Wu's tone was soft, filled with kindness.

Ye Feng paused.

"Xiao Wu, I understand where you're coming from. But they're already gone. Making good use of their remains gives them a final purpose. In the end, whether it's humans or spirit beasts, we all die. When that time comes, dust returns to dust, and earth returns to earth. If their remains can be put to use, it's just another form of honoring them."

Xiao Wu bit her lip. "Brother, can't you just let them rest for my sake? Being a spirit beast is already cruel enough… let them have peace in death."

Ye Feng hesitated, then sighed.

"Fine."

He nodded, putting his dagger away.

"Thank you, Brother!"

Xiao Wu beamed, then, in a rush of emotion, leaned in and kissed Ye Feng on the cheek.

Ye Feng froze.

Realizing what she had just done—especially with Ning Rongrong standing right there—Xiao Wu's face turned crimson. Flustered, she quickly blurted, "I-I-I just… I need to bury them!"

Without waiting for a response, she hurriedly turned away, making an excuse to move the corpses.

Ye Feng chuckled.

"I'll help you," he called out.

Before he could take a step, Ning Rongrong suddenly spoke up.

"Brother, I have something to ask you."

Ye Feng turned back. "What is it?"

Ning Rongrong hesitated before finally asking, "Why did you reject my father's offer?"

"You mean the business deal?"

Ning Rongrong nodded. "Yeah. My dad was willing to split profits 60-40 in your favor, but you still turned him down. Why?"

Ye Feng smirked, then flicked Ning Rongrong on the forehead.

"Ow!" She winced, rubbing the spot. "What was that for?"

"For being an idiot." Ye Feng grinned.

Ning Rongrong pouted. "Hmph! Is there some hidden reason for rejecting my father's offer?"

"Obviously." Ye Feng sighed. "Think about it—you're the eldest daughter of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect. Why do you think your dad wanted me to do business with him?"

"I… I don't know."

Ye Feng rolled his eyes. "Damn, you really are slow. Your dad doesn't need me to run those businesses—he could easily copy our supermarkets, express deliveries, real estate, and everything else. He wanted a business partnership to bind me to the sect."

Ning Rongrong still looked confused. "But why would he want to tie you to the sect?"

Ye Feng laughed. "I swear, sometimes you're too innocent for your own good." He sighed. "Okay, here's another reason. Flanders and I made real estate the most profitable business. But the way he's doing it is dangerous—he keeps using unfinished buildings as collateral to borrow more money. It's basically one big cycle of debt. If the market ever crashes and people demand their investments back, what do you think happens?"

Ning Rongrong frowned, deep in thought. Suddenly, her eyes widened.

"Flanders will go bankrupt!" she gasped. "Brother, does he even realize this?"

Ye Feng shook his head. "I warned him, but he wouldn't listen. He's expanding real estate too aggressively across the continent. If he keeps this up, he'll crash hard. That's why I insist on taking my cut every month instead of reinvesting it. And it's also why I refused to do business with your father."

Ning Rongrong was speechless.

She stared at Ye Feng, her mind racing.

For the first time, she realized something.

Ye Feng wasn't just strong.

He was smart as hell.
