I was checking something on my jewelry box when an arrow approached me. I casually tilt my head on my right side, and the arrow lands on the wall behind me.
I look at the window and grab the table. I flip it up, and the arrows land on it. I stayed and watched the situation. It's clear as day. Someone was trying to assassinate me. But who?!
My eyes dilated when Song Jialun's face flashed in my mind. I gulp.
'Come to think of it. This is the house of one of the strongest soldier families in our empire. How come these assassins enter their mansion without being noticed?'
What if Lord Song realizes that he can't let go of his feelings for the empress? What if he also wants to kill me like that jerk who wants me dead?
"Damn!" I cursed.
I stood up and waited until the arrows landed on my body. Maybe my death will end my sufferings. "Cai Lin!" A loud scream fills the room. I saw Lord Song rush inside.
