Sophia couldn't bear to watch any longer and stepped forward to try to help Lucca up. "Don't do this, get up first..."
Lucca had long since forgotten that she had met Sophia before. All she could see were swirling black spots. Everyone's faces were blurred through the haze of her tears. She refused to get up, gripping Sophia's hand as she begged, "I beg you, don't hurt him. He's still so young…"
"Enough! How much more do you want to embarrass yourself? Get up!"
Ignoring Sophia's quiet plea, Lucas grabbed Lucca's arm and forcefully pulled her up from the ground.
Capone watched coldly as Lucas held Lucca tightly, like a puppet with its strings cut. Lucas seemed to have reached his limit, gritting his teeth and saying to Capone, "Just say what you need to say. I don't have time to waste with you."
Capone led him to the door of a conference room, then turned and said, "Leave your people outside. You and Miss Gao come in with us."
