Once prepared, Jiang Feng and Ling began descending down towards the planet.
A new set of clothes were switched onto their figures as Ling placed on an illusion formation on the both of them, mesmerizing Jiang Feng with the intricate formation symbols she formed with her spiritual energy.
They soon passed through the atmosphere and continued on descending downwards.
Nothing more than the white clouds was in their line of sight until they went lower than it, a large field of breathtaking greenery appearing before them.
Looking towards the direction of northwest, a gigantic fortress made of stone with a single tower attempting to near the sky stood there magnificently as it made Jiang Feng sucked in a mouthful of cold air, shocked by the feats of the residents of this world despite being informed beforehand that they did not possess any technology.
Ling chuckled at his reaction as her hand held his, a radiant smile on her face as she spoke.
"Liking the view?"
"Can't say I'm not."
"Well, you're going to be even stunned once we approached that city. Come on!"
Dragging Jiang Feng's hand, Ling took the lead as they flew towards the entrance of the fortress, where a long line of what seems to be a mix of cultivators and ordinary mortals was at.
Not wanting to make a big entrance, Ling and Jiang Feng landed in a nearby forest before walking out of it, swiftly approaching the back of the line as Ling conjured out two black cloak made of rough materials.
Despite its crude appearance, Jiang Feng didn't dare to look down on it as intense but faint waves of spiritual energy were released from it, hinting at the fact that it may be a treasure.
Putting it on, the two followed the others in their surroundings and began to line up silently, only bothering to move forward and replenishing their lost spiritual energy from the journey.
The line moved rather quick as the huge gate of the fortress soon entered the view of Jiang Feng and Ling. Exiting cultivation, Jiang Feng decided to have a look as his head poked out from the line, looking to the front as two guards collected a small pouch of what seems to be coins from those in the line.
No spiritual energy was felt from the pouch, so Jiang Feng was left guessing what kind of coins was actually inside the bag.
"The entrance fee is 1 gold coin per person."
Their turn to be collected fees from soon arrived as one of the guards spoke.
Jiang Feng turned to Ling as her hand reached out towards the guard before her, handing out a double terminated shaped crystal that let out a hue of blue.
The guard widened his eyes in shock as his hands trembled while holding the spiritual stone, staring at Ling whose face was hidden beneath the cloak.
"You don't need to look for change. Just let us in already." Ling's voice sounded as it awoke the guard from his tension.
The guard quickly nodded his head at his partner as they both stepped aside, performing a slight bow as Jiang Feng and Ling walked past them, triggering discussions from those still in the line.
"Hey, who do you think those people are?"
"Beats me, but to hand out a spiritual stone and not ask for change from those guards, they definitely must be from a powerful cultivation family."
Ignoring the talks of those that were looking in their direction, Ling turned to Jiang Feng as her voice sounded directly in his mind.
"It's better for us to stay as low-key as possible. We'll communicate using the link we have between our souls. If we're too far apart, use the communication slip instead."
"Got it. Where are we heading now?"
Replying to Ling using the soul link between them, Jiang Feng continued with a question which Ling responded quickly.
"We'll find a tavern first. From then on, we can talk freely and plan for the rest of our stay in the city."
Agreeing to the plan, the couple began walking amongst the streets as they searched for a tavern.
Jiang Feng also took the chance to look around the city as his eyes lit up at the many interesting shops that look like those from medieval times.
The spiritual energy waves being released by the cultivators around him caught his attention as well.
Most of them released spiritual energy waves similar to those at Qi Circulation Peak Stage, some ranging between Foundation Building Entrance and Middle stage, with only 2 cultivators that Jiang Feng chanced upon having equal to or higher strength than Foundation Building Late Stage.
'Looks like Foundation Building Late Stage can be considered as peak stage for normal civilians.' Jiang Feng thought inwardly.
"This seems like a good place."
With Ling's voice sounding inside his head again, Jiang Feng found himself standing before a building built out of a mix of stones and wood planks.
The building had nothing special, having three floors and a decent flow of customers going in and out.
It also had its own restaurant next door, where a bunch of mortals and Qi Circulation cultivators could be seen dining at.
Walking into the building, Jiang Feng and Ling swiftly booked a room from the receptionist as Ling took out yet another spiritual stone.
This time, however, she demanded for the change as the receptionist nervously looked for it.
In the end, an iron key and a heavy pouch of gold coins was given to Ling as the receptionist handed it over respectfully, bending forward with her head down, afraid of somehow offending the two before her.
Jiang Feng was surprised by the receptionist's attitude, but Ling didn't bother herself with it as she took a look inside the pouch using Spiritual Senses, making sure there were 9994 gold coins, with 6 already taken out for a month's rent.
Inserting the key, a creaking noise sounded throughout the corridor as the door opened.
"This room…is not as how I expected it to look like."
Making a comment like that, Jiang Feng stepped into the room behind Ling as he closed the door, looking around to see what there was.
Two single beds were placed at different sides of the room, with not even a single furniture prepared. Other than the small bathroom that could only fit a single bathtub, the bedroom was the only living place they had.
"Well, compared to the luxury hotels on Earth, the cultivation world is lacking in hospitality for guests and outsiders."
Taking off the cloak, Ling replied to Jiang Feng as she sat down on the rough white bed, the blanket that seems to be made from a bunch of hay and leaves pushed against the wall.
"Still, isn't it going to be uncomfortable living in such a place for a month?"
Saying so, Jiang Feng also took off his cloak and walked towards the window between their beds, looking down on the bustling streets as the sea of people moved.
"You'll get used to it soon."
Chuckling while making her remark, Ling waved her hand as Jiang Feng's bed was lifted up by Spiritual Energy Manipulation and placed next to hers.
"Like we've been doing, we're going to sleep together."
"…"
Staring at Ling's smiling face speechlessly, Jiang Feng could only swallow back any complaints as he moved next to her, lying down on the bed while trying to adapt to its roughness.
"What are we going to do now?"
Posing such a question for Ling, Jiang Feng turned towards her as Ling closed her eyes and began pondering.
"The cities in the cultivation world are usually just for the mortals and commoners in the morning, so let's just cultivate until its dinnertime. You can also take this chance to experience the spiritual energy in a lower cultivation world."
Agreeing to such plan, Jiang Feng nod at Ling as he changed to a lotus position, facing Ling as she did the same.
…
Somewhere in the heavens.
A man sat in a room filled with noting but darkness that extends infinitely. His stature made it looked like he was on top of a throne, yet there was nothing below him.
His whole figure was also shrouded by a dark mist, his voice sounding out as an ancient feeling spread.
"Another Heavenly Oath is made…how annoying these low life cultivators are."
"But…the possessor of this oath…why does it feel so familiar..."
"No, it's just my imagination. Not a single time in my whole life have I talked to a newborn that had only recently started cultivation."
"Still…this irritating resemblance…"
