Third person POV
Liam turned to Helena, ready to wrap her in his arms and assure her that everything was okay. However, at that very moment, a thunderous crash shook the ground beneath him.
He spun toward the sound and saw something that made him doubt his own eyes. Somehow, Jeff had stood back up, throwing the luxury car aside as if it weighed nothing.
His body was covered in bruises and scratches, but nothing severe enough to suggest he had just been hit by a ton of steel at high speed.
And to make things worse, he was smiling. A wide, animalistic, and unsettling grin, like a predator locking onto its prey.
"Well, well, looks like we've got ourselves a hero," he murmured, licking his lips with a sickening expression. His eyes gleamed with pure malice, and each step he took carried the promise of imminent violence.
"It's gonna be a pleasure crushing you."
How the hell is he still standing? Liam thought, momentarily stunned by the absurdity of what he had just witnessed.
