Ethan successfully saved several million dollars from Lucy:Curtain's War budget and also managed to keep Wellington in check.
After returning, Wellington had a fierce argument with the agent who cost him millions and fired the guy outright.
But even so, Ethan had no intention of letting Wellington continue playing the role. He planned to have Reese die naturally in Lucy: Final Curtain's War and smoothly introduce a second-generation hero.
For this reason, he and the screenwriters revised the script.
Once the revisions were complete, Ethan invited all the lead actors and key crew members, renting a beachfront villa for a seven-day discussion session.
"Good morning, Director."
"Long time no see."
"Morning, Ethan."
"Oh, darling, it's been a while. You're as handsome as ever."
By the pool surrounded by lush greenery, Ethan had a large sunshade set up, with a long table and a projection screen underneath it.
Ethan stood at the door, welcoming the main cast members.
When he saw Scarlett, his eyebrows lifted slightly. Today, she was wearing a light-colored slip dress that hugged her curves tightly, outlining her stunning figure. It looked as if two hands wouldn't be enough to grasp.
"You look really sexy today." Ethan glanced around as he spoke, ensuring no one else was nearby.
Scarlett was much bolder. She stepped forward, kissed Ethan lightly, and then pressed a finger gently against his chest. "This is such a rare vacation."
"Yeah, getting to take a vacation while making a movie—definitely a good deal."
Ethan chuckled and gentlemanly placed his hands on his waist, allowing Scarlett to take his arm as they walked out of the villa together.
The others seated there weren't surprised at all by this scene. Scarlett and Ethan's rumored relationship had spread far and wide. Their interactions were always close, but no one dared to speculate too openly. After all, Ethan's status and influence were undeniable, and anyone who spoke recklessly wouldn't end up well.
Even Wellington, who had grudges in his heart, wouldn't dare use this against Ethan.
After all, rumors about Ethan and other women would only serve as gossip, adding to the public's entertainment. But if his own scandals leaked, he would be dragged straight into the mud.
So, after exchanging greetings, the discussion officially began.
Everyone had a script in front of them. After skimming through the plot outline, their expressions varied as they subtly glanced at Wellington.
Clearly, they all noticed that someone was about to die.
Wellington forced a smile, but inside, he let out a sigh of relief.
He had been worried that Ethan would keep holding those photos over his head, forcing him to act for free and squeezing every last bit of value out of him. Now that Ethan had decided to let him die in the SuperCyc Universe, it meant he could soon move on and take other roles.
That realization actually made him genuinely happy.
But, of course, he didn't dare show it.
"Alright, you can go through the script later. For now, let me introduce the movie's plan." Ethan knocked on the table, drawing everyone's attention. "The Final Curtain will have seven filming locations."
"First is New York. As one of the Curtain Anchors' locations, it will feature a lot of action scenes."
"Next is Chongqing, China—another Curtain Anchor location. I know most of you probably haven't been to China, but don't worry. When we get there, you can experience the local culture. Trust me, the food there is amazing."
"Then we have Tokyo, Paris, India, Nairobi, and Iceland."
"Each of these places is a Curtain Anchor site. In the storyline, you'll each be traveling to different locations to destroy the anchors and pull back the curtain."
Ethan scanned the group before continuing, "The movie will be about three hours long. Honestly, that's a tight timeframe, so we've made the dialogue as concise as possible. I need you all to study your lines carefully and fully understand your characters. In addition, you'll all undergo action training because there will be a lot of fight scenes. But I'm sure that won't be a problem for any of you."
"Of course!" Will Smith nodded and smiled. "Making a great film means pushing through difficulties. Every actor goes through this."
"Alright, then let's start reading the script."
As soon as Ethan finished speaking, Scarlett suddenly interjected, "Ethan, I need to talk to you privately."
"Okay, let's go inside." Ethan didn't ask any questions and simply led Scarlett into the villa, leaving the others to read their scripts.
The moment they stepped into the room, Scarlett impatiently pulled up Ethan's shirt, pressing herself against him.
"Damn, you're always so aggressive." Ethan leaned against the door, feeling like he had been tossed into a spinning washing machine.
"Whose fault is that? You're not with me every day."
"Every day? Your energy is insane."
"Yeah, so you won't be getting any rest these next few days."
Ethan ran his fingers through Scarlett's hair, unable to suppress a smirk. "Then I won't rest."
Half an hour later, the two of them returned to the long table with calm expressions. The other actors exchanged glances but didn't dare say anything.
"How's the script?" Ethan asked after sitting down.
"I think it's great. The story is beyond my imagination." Rob Sari was the first to speak. "I believe the audience will love it too."
"Yeah, absolutely amazing. Just reading the script is making me excited." The other actors chimed in.
"No need to exaggerate." Ethan chuckled. "What I need is honest feedback—especially about the heroes' dialogue. You're the ones playing these characters, so if you have concerns about their personality or tone, speak up. This week is for refining the script. Next month, we officially start filming."
"Don't worry, Ethan. I'll read through it thoroughly and give you plenty of feedback." Will Smith shrugged.
"Haha, that's exactly what I want."
As Ethan went around the table, it felt like a classroom setting. Everyone focused on the script, giving their thoughts and suggestions.
Interestingly, Scarlett contributed the most feedback. Clearly, thanks to Ethan, she had already seen the script beforehand and had thought about it for a long time.
While Ethan and the screenwriters gathered input, they also discussed various aspects of the production with the key crew members.
Topics included prop design and visual effects production.
The number of visual effects in Lucy: The Final Curtain would surpass all previous superhero films. One studio alone—Digital Domain—wouldn't be able to handle it, so this time, Ethan specifically hired multiple VFX companies to work on the film.
The props department also faced an enormous workload, especially with cybernetic prosthetics. This time, Ethan planned to arm a full-fledged military force, which placed immense pressure on the prop team.
To tackle this, Norton's Eye assembled a 500-person props team. As soon as the film's artistic designs were finalized, production began immediately.
Additionally, the cinematography and art departments had doubled in size compared to the previous films. It could be said that Lucy: The Final Curtain completely outclassed the first two installments in terms of production scale. Even Warner Bros. and Marvel couldn't match its level.
Perhaps, in the future, Avengers: Endgame would be able to compete with this film.
But that moment was still far away. Ethan had already seized the advantage, and there was no way he would let it slip.
By the time Endgame hit theaters, he would have an even bigger production waiting to take the stage.
