I actually wasn't planning on running into Marcus. I had left the observation room as soon as the main meeting ended, because I needed to use the bathroom so bad.
So I went back to Noah's office. And after that, I decided to just stay on his very comfy couch. I knew there was no way Marcus knew I was there, so when I heard voices just a short distance away, I thought it was Noah and Luke.
I wasn't even thinking about Marcus. I thought he would have left, but apparently not.
Seeing him made me wonder what kind of argument he was having with Noah that included slightly easier voices, and the tension between them, the curt, cold way with which Noah spoke to him, made it clear that something was wrong.
I followed him back into the office, slightly confused.
"What was all that about?" I asked.
He turned suddenly that he might have tripped if there was something in his way, and I noticed how very mad he was.
