The next day,
Dany and Viserys were standing on the deck of the ship, holding each other's hands as the ship neared the harbor.
Dany was tense, her hands tightly holding her brother's while she clenched her free hand, "Don't worry, Dany," Viserys assured, "We will be gone before you know it."
"Mhmm," Dany hummed; still, it didn't ease her expression. She didn't like meeting new people, especially the ones whom her brother warned against.
Soon, the ship neared the port and the men on the boat began their preparations to dock.
And as soon as they reached the port, Viserys's eyes glinted as he mumbled, 'There he is!'
Standing on the port was a fat man. Dressed in fine, vibrant clothing and a few slaves following behind, this was Illyrio Mopatis, according to rumours, wed to a female blackfyre.
'It doesn't matter,' Viserys thought to himself, 'I don't want to do anything about Westeros.'
As the siblings boarded the ship, Illyrio approached them, "Your Grace, my name is Illyrio Mopatis, a humble Magister of Pentos."
The man bowed to Viserys a little and smiled as he turned towards Dany.
Viserys nodded in reply, "Viserys Targaryen."
Dany was behind him, her hand tightly gripping her brother's as she glanced at Illyrio.
"I was going to write a letter to Ser Willem Darry, Your Grace," the man said, eyeing the two siblings for a moment, "but the man has passed away too soon." He hung his head down and shook his head slowly, pretending to be sad.
"Thank you, My Lord," Viserys replied, "I will not forget your support once I retake what is mine!" He decided to appease the lord for the time being, 'If I said I had no intention of taking it back, he might put too many eyes on me, which in turn would make it difficult to steam the eggs!'
Illyrio's eyes gleamed at his words, his smile widening. Looking past them, he signalled one of his slaves to take the two trunks placed behind the siblings by the sailors.
"Why don't we have our discussion in my mansion, Your Grace?" Illyrio asked, his hand pointing towards a carriage. "I have made sure that the house fits your stature."
"Thank you for your consideration, My Lord," the prince replied, "My sister and I are truly tired from the travels!"
The group soon walked towards the carriage, and before long, they were moving through the city towards the elitist part of the city.
It took almost an hour for them to reach the mansion, and throughout the journey, Dany had her eyes glued outside.
She was mesmerised by the homes in this city; those vibrant colours and dome-shaped homes fascinated her, as she didn't see them in Braavos.
As soon as they entered the mansion, two maids in their thirties walked towards them. They had some decent curves, which they flaunted at Viserys, but the prince didn't care, which surprised Illyrio.
'Could it be…?' the fat man wondered inwardly, glancing at Dany, 'No, I have to make sure that these two won't unite!'
"Your Grace, the two maids will lead you to your rooms," Illyrio said with a smile as he pointed to the maids.
But Viserys shook his head, "That cannot do, Lord Illyrio. Dany is scared of new people; she will stay with me."
'It's best she stays in my room; we can escape faster!' Viserys mused inwardly.
Illyrio's lips twitched at his words, but he nodded his head; he cannot go against this boy prince just yet. 'Soon…' he mumbled inwardly, his eyes gleaming.
The maids then led them to their room, and while on their way, Viserys observed the mansion, mapping everything in the house and ignoring the useless decorations.
They walked to the other end of the mansion, which displeased Viserys, 'I would've been better if the room was near an exit but ... .I have to be more careful!'
CREAK
The two maids opened the black door and put the two trunks inside.
Viserys then turned toward the two maids, "Tell Lord Illyrio that we are satisfied with the arrangements. We would like to take a rest for today and tomorrow."
The maids bowed to him, and were about to leave when Viserys added, "Also, we will have our food here."
He then closed the door behind him and glanced at his sister, who was sitting on top of the soft bed with a surprised look on her face as she bounced on top of it.
CHUCKLE
Viserys chuckled, shaking his head. "Are the beds soft?" he asked.
"Mhmm! Yes!" Dany exclaimed, nodding her head; she had never slept on this soft bed before.
"Then, take some rest," he mumbled, walking toward her, "we might leave during the night," he whispered in a low voice, afraid someone might hear.
Dany's expression hardened at his words; she pressed her lips together, her eyes flickering with determination, "Yes!"
The princess then talked with her brother for a few minutes, talking about the new city before Viserys forced her to sleep.
After a few hours, the maids brought them their dinner, waking up Dany.
Dany was all smiles as she had dinner; after eating a loaf of bread for a week, she felt as if her tongue was dead and pleaded with Viserys to eat something new, but the prince refused, stating she might get seasick.
After finishing dinner, Viserys waited for a few more hours until it was midnight. "Dany!" he called to the sleepy princess.
"Y-Yes!" she exclaimed, forcing her eyes open.
"Stay awake! It's time…."
