Hearing Rocket Raccoon's words, even Alan couldn't help but give him a thumbs-up. He had seen shameless people before, but he never expected Rocket to be this shameless.
However, he didn't feel any resentment toward him. Alan knew that Rocket's past was filled with suffering—he had been forcefully modified and treated as nothing more than an experiment. It was precisely these painful memories that had twisted his personality.
"Boom!"
Before anyone could continue discussing Rocket and the stolen energy battery, the Sovereign, who had been chasing them, launched an attack.
Their ships were highly advanced, and several laser cannons locked onto the Guardians' ship. Quill quickly jumped into the pilot's seat.
"We need to get out of here, now!"
He fired up the engines and carefully maneuvered the ship forward, steadily increasing speed. But the relentless Sovereign ships kept firing at them, launching one explosive attack after another.
Amidst the heavy bombardment, their ship pushed through the dark clouds, bursting out of the planet's atmosphere in a brilliant streak of white, soaring into space. The Guardians of the Galaxy looked relieved, thinking they had finally escaped.
But before they could celebrate, an overwhelming number of Sovereign ships took off in pursuit.
They were still after the energy battery.
"Bang!"
A laser blast struck the corner of their ship, causing it to shake violently. Everyone lost their balance and tumbled around, but thankfully, Groot extended his arms to hold them in place.
Quill shouted, "We've been hit in the propulsion system!"
The ship lurched downward, alarms blaring as sparks erupted from multiple panels.
Alan glanced at the time—by now, according to his memory, Quill's biological father should have appeared. But there were no signs of him.
Did I miscalculate?
Looking at the pursuing Sovereign fleet, Alan realized that since events weren't unfolding as expected, he would have to take matters into his own hands.
He turned to the Guardians and said, "Stay here. I'll take care of them."
Without waiting for a response, he opened the hatch and flew out alone.
Wanda and Gwen watched his back nervously, wanting to follow, but they didn't have the Emperor's Armor and couldn't survive in the vacuum of space.
Alan reassured them, "Don't worry. I'll be back soon."
The two nodded and watched him leave.
Outside the ship, Alan's Emperor's Armor radiated a golden glow as he shot toward the Sovereign fleet.
The Sovereign pilots were stunned.
What the hell?
Someone is flying straight toward us through all this laser fire?
Who is this guy? Is he suicidal?
Before they could process what was happening, Alan had already reached one of their ships.
The Green Lantern Ring on his hand flared with immense energy, and with a single punch, he dented the ship's hull. Then, with raw strength, he tore it open.
Seeing an intruder force his way in so violently, the remaining Sovereign warriors rushed toward the breach.
Alan scanned the interior and saw several enemies approaching. Casually, he snapped his fingers, and a flying arrow materialized beside him.
With a flick of his hand, the arrow streaked through the air, piercing through the Sovereign warriors before they even realized what was happening.
Like a mischievous sprite, the arrow darted around the ship, weaving through the corridors and effortlessly cutting down Sovereign soldiers wherever it went.
