Avery woke up with a gasp.
She felt better rested than she had in a while.
There were still a few hours before she had to get up for her shift. Usually she would spend those hours doing various tasks but today she decided to get some extra rest. She fell into a deep dreamless sleep.
Alistor found her sleeping soundly in the morning. He had to wake her as she was late for her shift.
She quickly got ready and grabbed a meat bun for breakfast. She ate as she walked to the house where the hero's party was staying.
The house seemed tense and the guard stationed there looked jumpy. The practically ran out the door when Avery arrived.
Avery paid it no mind and took her place.
Agatha stormed in looking angry with the rouge following behind her looking equally pissed.
"...my cake." The rouge was yelling.
" I didn't eat your cake." Agatha yelled back.
" Then who did?" The rouge questioned.
" I don't know Devin, I was busy trying to do my job" Agatha screamed.
They both walked away in separate directions.
Avery continued doing her job vigilantly. Just before lunch she spotted a green glint coming from a slightly open drawer.
Making sure everyone was busy doing whatever they were doing, she slowly slid open the drawer to reveal a green frostia broach.
She pulled some mischief powder that she had confinscated from a black market dealer and sprinkled it onto the broach making sure it got stuck in the crevices. She then opened the compact powder that was in the drawer and spilled it's contents inside the drawer.
She quietly closed the drawer and went for her lunch break.
She sat on a log in the forest just a little ways away from the house and opened her lunch. She heard a slight rustling sound coming from her left and Harriet came in to view.
"Stay out of sight the hero's party is staying in the house behind me." Avery warned.
Harriet immediately ducked behind some bushes.
Avery pulled out the extra meat bun that she had grabbed for breakfast and handed it to Harriet.
" I suggest you stay away from me when I'm in town" Avery stated.
Harriet was too busy devouring the meat bun to answer.
" I'll bring over more food to the house later. You know how to cook right?" Avery asked.
Harriet shook her head.
" Really! How did you survive till now?" Avery questioned.
" I mostly stole food or picked fruit. Though I did pick some poisonous berries once. Thank fdz for our poison tolerance." Harriet replied.
Avery nodded.
" I found the broach. It will take a few days but I'll make sure that they can't track you anymore." Avery told her.
" Thank you." Harriet said in a quiet voice.
They both ate in scilence after that.
Avery walked back to to the house when her lunch break ended . It seemed like the argument between Agatha and Devin had started back up when she was away and poor Kevin was caught in the crossfire.
After efforts from all the party members the situation was finally diffused and Avery went home.
