Chapter 3 - Angelic Gathering

Shortly after my talk with Uriel she dragged me into a large meeting room before running off to fetch the other 'Arch Angels.' The room was circular with only one entrance, the walls had been adequately decorated with many luxurious paintings and trinkets of different kinds. Not a single part of the room was undecorated, if not with paintings or trinkets then with complex wall art, leaving a satisfied feeling within me. The room also had stained glass windows in many different colours each pointed out to a vast expanse of clouds and buildings below us. If I had to put the beauty into words I would say we truly were in heaven.

Within the centre of the room there was a circular table made of a rich mahogany coloured wood. I walked past, gently brushing my hand along the table's surface and leaving a firm knock before taking my hand away. The sound resounded off of the table and echoed around the shape of the room before returning to my ears.

I felt like a young boy exploring somewhere I wasn't allowed to be. Every item within the room exuded an air of immense value, and this made me slightly anxious. I worried that something might accidently break earning me Uriel's wrath. In attempt to prevent this, I decided it best to find a seat at the table and wait. That was until I noticed the quality of the chairs. Even they had been crafted with a level of precision and care that I had never even seen on earth. Thus, I was left hesitant to touch anything.

In the end, I stood. Not daring to lay a single finger on any object within the room. Everything looked far too precious to take even one risk. Every item seemed to hold its own story adding not only physical value but sentimental value too. Like they were irreplicable fragments of history.

Eventually, Uriel returned to the room, her familiar smile like a light house beam cutting through the fog of my anxieties. Following behind her on either side were to man I had no recollections of. Though, following what she had told me I could assume these to be two of the Arch Angels.

The one on her left was quite a bit taller than her. If I had to guess he was around 5"10 or so. His hair was on the brighter side of ash brown while his eyes were a soft hue of emerald. The man wore a black suit that seemed to fit his figure perfectly, his tie was pulled loosely around his neck, he seemed quite lively and proactive.

The other man stood even taller than the first, with wheat blonde hair and sky-blue eyes. His expression was blank, the way that he carried himself made it clear he was the serious type. However, when his gaze landed on me, his eyes widened, and his almost regal posture faltered. He was dressed in a pristine white suit, which seemed to accentuate the intensity of his presence.

"Lord Caelus!" Uriel's voice pulled my gaze away from the two men behind her, "It seems only Michael and Gabriel are free for today's meeting." She explained, gesturing towards the two men in the order she called there name.

So the first was Michael and the second Gabriel, "The others were busy?" I asked curiously, and immediately Gabriel took a knee.

"We sincerely apologize my Lord." He lifted his head to make eye contact with me and then shortly after looked other to the other two as if telling them to bow.

"Oh, uh... You may stand freely." I reassured, gesturing from his to raise from his stance.

"I'm grateful for your forgiveness, my Lord." He said with a deep bow. I suppose I wasn't entirely right with my gauge on this one.. He was the overly loyal type— perhaps more than I'd anticipated. You can't really complain though, they always work the best.

"So, why couldn't the others make it?" I asked once more.

"Well, Azrael, she's busy as usual... Angel of Death and all that," a voice answered from my side. I turned to see Michael, his expression relaxed as he spoke in an easy-going tone.

"Raphael... Well, she's probably down on earth investigating the human regalia, as usual. And, Well, Lucifer... He's in hell, as he should be." Michael's words gave me a deeper insight into three beings—Azrael, Raphael, and Lucifer. Everything said thus far was lining up perfectly to the biblical angels.

"I see, thank you, Michael." My words earned him jealous dagger-like glares from both Gabriel and Raphael but, he simply ignored them, shrugging off both my thanks and the stares.

"Ahem," With her hand covering her mouth, Uriel cleared her throat before lowering it to speak, the attention of the room now focused on her. "I suppose we should begin the topic of today's discussion?"

Gabriel and Michael both turned to me. I stared awkwardly for a moment before realising they were waiting for my confirmation.

"Oh! Yes, we should begin," I blurted out, feeling a flush of embarrassment at my slip-up.

Uriel then began debriefing the two on my 'amnesia,' prompting the pair to glare at me in disbelief. From there, the group branched off into countless theories and possibilities on how to solve my issue. The meeting dragged on for what felt like hours, spiralling in circles with no clear solution in sight—until Michael decided to bring up 'Regalia.'

I had no clue what they were, but he'd definitely brough it up before. I think when he was talking about Raphael. Back then he'd specifically called them the 'Human's

"Oh, pardon, but I have no clue what a Regalia is...?"

The three of them stared at me simultaneously, their brows rising in realisation.

"Apologies my Lord! Allow me to explain." Gabriel announced dramatically once again bowing on his knees.

"It's strange having you ask something of us, Lord. We're so used to your omniscience." Michael added on, his attitude laid back as usual.

After telling Gabriel he could stand he began to explain about 'The World Shattering' resulting in Caelus—or perhaps my power—leaking from my body and and polluting the natural order of the world. He continued, explaining how certain fragments had coalesced into specific powers, granting almost every human the ability to use regalia to control at least one element—ice, fire, water, wind, and so on.

What I found most shocking was his mention of some humans wielding regalia powerful enough to control concepts as extraordinary as time or space. A mind-wrecking thought to comprehend, especially for someone as human as me.

In short, Regalia were intricate formations that appeared on the bodies of humans, permanently enhancing all of their physical capabilities, permanently. These formations also unlocked the ability to manipulate one or more elements, and, if you were lucky, a more refined power.

These powers could range from something like 'Perfected Swordsmanship' to 'Alternate Space Creation'— The ability to create your own miniature dimensions. The possibilities were endless.

The realisation that these supernatural powers actually existed worked as a stark reminder that I was no longer in my previous world. I truly had died and, somehow, been reincarnated as a supernatural being.

Angels in service, a city on the clouds, world-shattering power...

Everything pointed to me being some kind of god, but how could that be true? How could a simple, sickly teenager die and be reborn as a god???

And would I ever be able to live a normal life as a normal person?!
