The moment I stepped out of Ayra's office, an overwhelming sense of relief washed over me.
For a brief moment, I had been worried—worried that she was finally waking up, starting to see things for what they truly were.
But now, all my fears had vanished.
She was still the same softhearted fool who was too trusting, too gullible, always believing the best in people, seeing the world through rose-colored glasses.
It was almost laughable how easy it was to manipulate her emotions.
All I had to do was act like the devoted best friend who only wanted what was best for her.
And just like that, she had let her guard down again.
I let out a quiet chuckle as I walked down the hallway, my heels clicking against the polished marble floors.
The fear that had gripped me earlier had been unnecessary.
Ayra might have been acting differently, but deep down, she was still the same naive girl I had always known.
And that meant our plans were still intact.
