(Darius' POV)
"What the hell are you doing here Charlotte?" I asked, my jaw clenched tightly in suppressed anger.
She was the last person I expected—no, the last person I wanted—to see here.
She tilted her head slightly, feigning innocence. "Oh, Darius, is that any way to greet an old flame?"
I wasn't in the mood for games. "Charlotte," I said in a dangerously low voice, "answer the damn question."
She sighed dramatically, crossing her arms over her chest.
"If you must know, I'm here representing my father's company for the deal."
I narrowed my eyes. "Bullshit."
Her smirk widened. "I assure you, it's not. Seems like fate has a funny way of bringing us back together, doesn't it?"
My hands clenched into fists at my sides.
Of all the business deals in the world, it had to be this one?
My father had mentioned the possibility of working with another company during this pitch, but I never in my wildest dreams imagined it would be Charlotte's.
