Chapter 1 - The Start

"No matter how much you work hard there is no where you can reach without the talent to match it. To be frank these are the famous and renowned words of the strongest martial saint in history. Initially, I doubted these words, but as time passed, I learned that they could not have been more accurate. That massively demonstrated by my personal weakness."

The doubtful words escaped the lips of the twenty-year-old boy standing before a bridge. In that moment, he had finally found enough resolve to end it instantly. Despite his determination since his awakening three years ago, his condition had slowly deteriorated, and now he stood seconds away from ending it all.

"Finally, I can join you, Father." Those were his last words as he slowly but surely fell to his death. The bridge he fell from was the Bridge of Sorrows, filled the brim with sea. In that moment, all of memories flashed before him, and a smile swiftly followed.

As if it was meant to be, seconds before impact with the water, a sea beast bit off his head. In a room, the same boy hastily got up, filled with evident shock. Although he looked younger and vibrant, it couldn't hide his fear and shaken appearance.

"Could it be that it was all just a bad dream?"

With a slow tilt towards his left, he witnessed an even more shocking result. A red system panel appeared, and what came as a shock was its content.

[Congratulations to the host for unlocking the system. Since the host is supposed to be dead, your life will be controlled by the system, and failure to complete any quest will result in your death.]

Just then, the nurse entered and inquired of the boy named James if he had improved. With a glance filled with rage and distaste, he looked at her if he wanted to kill her. She was startled and dropped the metal tray she was holding. In a deep and cold voice, James asked, "Who are you?"

The girl was immediately overwhelmed by the intense charisma James possessed and ran away. Back to the panel, it now had a full display his current stats.

James could not wait to see the traits he would acquire, as the traits one possessed determined the power had and their growth pattern over a certain period. Essentially, if one's innate trait was listed at C grade, they would have enough potential to become an advanced-class hunter.

"Sir, have you calmed down?" the young nurse asked, this time displaying a firm and resolute demeanor.

"I'm sorry for my previous outburst; I was just shocked. Let me restart and ask, how did I end up in the hospital?" James asked much more calmly.

"It was two days ago when a dungeon outbreak occurred in Renecone Province, a safe zone. It has been confirmed to be the largest massacre in a, with over 3,000,000 people dead, twice that number missing, and even more unaccounted for. Due to your significant ties with the military, the platoon leader personally escorted you to safety."

This event was easily remembered by as it was the first sign of the apocalypse and led to a chain of events six months later. As if sensing the impending doom, James made it a point to become as strong as possible in that time.

The girl (Susan) went to James and whispered, "Your is considered confidential. My curiosity got the best of me, so I asked my father, the director, but he still turned me down. So, tell me, just who are you?"

"Since you asked, I must tell you. I am merely an orphan who pleaded with the platoon leader to be rescued, and she was entranced by my appearance and felt compelled to act."

Susan pondered, "Does he believe the military is a joke that they would prioritize a handsome boy over the many millionaires in the province? Furthermore, they even financed a new house with the highest security in the city."

"Spurt" Blood gushed from James's mouth as he began to heat significantly. He collapsed to the ground, and sweat poured out like water. From his bone structure to his muscle structure, everything was being burned and refined.

Susan, her face a mix of shock and concern, ran outside and called the head doctor. Unaware of the situation, the head doctor hurried into the room, accompanied by his apprentices. Regardless of circumstances, James was a VIP in their hotel.

When the doctor saw James in his current, he did not panic like his apprentices and began issuing orders First, James placed on the, and the doctor conducted a thorough examination, trying his best to diagnose his patient. When he failed, he decided to call his older brother who was a healer and an ultimate-class hunter.

Within two minutes, the doctor's older brother arrived, and as he approached James, his expression turned pale. He shivered as if he had seen death, then turned to his younger brother and said, "Do you not understand what we are witnessing? This is the phenomenon that many have always wanted to experience, including myself."

"You must be joking; you surely don't mean..." Before the doctor could finish his sentence, a large and menacing aura filled the room, causing everyone except the older brother to fall to their knees.

Outside the hospital, at local park, the king-class Ryan, who was holding a photo shoot, sensed a menacing aura and looked directly in the hospital's direction. He was also in a state of confusion, and his secretary asked, "You can feel it too, right?" Ryan smiled and moved at high speed towards the room, jumping and entering through the window.

"How, James, what is going on?" The remarks left Ryan even more perplexed.
