Darren's POV
The moment the door closed, Jason found his seat, his gaze locked on me.
We sat in silence for a bit, our eyes gauging each other's every move. This was the peak of this meeting; the moment I had feared even before my flight here. I masked my nervous muscles, wearing a blank expression.
"Get on with it, Jason. I am eternal but I will not waste eternity sitting here in silence."
"Yes, my lord. Apologies. I was only trying to choose my words carefully."
I nodded, gesturing with my hand for him to go on.
"I know what happened just now was disrespectful. Making such an announcement without discussing it with you first was a grave mistake on my path. I ask that you forgive my recklessness and understand things from my position."
