Darren's POV
It was the third day and I had been pacing the floors of my room from the moment I woke up. My mind was unsettled, the fear of bad news gnawing silently in a corner. Anything could happen and I feared that the worst was ahead.
From the bed to the chair to any of the walls. I couldn't stay in one place, fearing that my relaxed state could bring Diamond doom. The hours rolled on and all I could do was wait.
I was anxious and eager, and as night crept closer, my fear grew. What if Diamond had died in the three days? What if there was no way to save her?
I managed to pull myself into the bathroom, turning the shower to high heat and letting the water sting my skin. I barely felt a thing, and I slowly lost track of time. Eventually, when my mind had freed itself from fear's grasp, I walked out of the bathroom.
