Me, Shuna, and Hakuro were standing somewhere that was somewhat far from the ogre village but was still close. Hakuro had his sword by his side. Shuna was dressed in her Miko outfit, as she was apparently the Oracle for the village. "Okay, we will start your training with the sword first, and after our session Shuna will teach you the basics of our worlds magic" said Hakuro as he tossed me a bokken, a bamboo sword.
"Now, the goal of the training is to train up your sense, training up your fighting spirit" said Hakuro as he seemingly took a stance and as if he was the wind he vanished. I tried to spread my senses around but all that seemingly earned me was a smack on the head from his own bokken.
"Ow" I said as I rubbed the spot where he hit me, me being more dramatic than anything due to Selena's interference. "A shield, well you need to turn it off or the training is meaningless" said Hakuro. I could see where he was coming from, but I didn't want to turn it off as it was vital defense. However, I lowered it and I readied my sword again.
"Now, for real this time. Train your senses and block my attacks. Once this is done, we can train in the arts" said Hakuro as he dashed forward again and I tried to spread out my sense again, magnifying the range of my new skill. It was a useful skill that granted me 360 degress of vision but I was still hit with Hakuro's bokken.
"You wont sense me that way, I can hide from your little detection skill" said Hakuro as he kept on going on, hitting me in various spots, causing superficial wounds like bruises and the like. One thing though, the training was sharpening my senses though, as I could feel a faint flicker before he struck though it was too late.
"I saw that you sensed me, even if it was too late, progress is progress" he said as I kept trying to dodge him or hit him with my bokken but with little success in my efforts. It was quite tiring and this went on for a couple hours before we stopped, and I was full of welts, bruises, and even a minor cut somewhere because he hit the spot to many times it decided to split.
"Well, thats it for training for now" said Hakuro as he stepped in with some medicinal salve that was prepared. I waved him off saying thanks before I produced my own healing medicine, something called a full potion. After downing it in one huge gulp, which was a mistake, my body began heal so fast at a visible speed.
"That's some nice healing medicine" admired Shuna as she saw the rips and tears in the skin mend bit by bit at a fast and visible pace. It was quite the powerful medicine. '"Of course, its a full potion'" said Selena as I chuckled the bottle through a portal which was something I learned recently.
"Maybe I can utilize this in battle" I said outloud as Hakuro, who was still nearby smiled as if it was a good idea. "You should, leaving ones assets unused like that might as well be neglect" said Shuna as she helped me up and began leading me farther from the village, to quote her, "So we don't accidentally hurt the village".
I could understand that, magic even though it was powerful and acted calm, it was a raging force of nature that both existed alongside nature yet transcended its grace and hold, it could even affect the gods if I became strong enough, or even overturn the laws of thermodynamics if I wanted to try hard enough.
"So, what do you know about magic?" asked Shuna, who was trying to form a basis for my knowledge to begin teaching me this worlds style of magic. "Well, magic is the manipulation of magical power to cause a change in accordance to ones will" I said, recounting lessons I received from Peeps sensei.
"That is correct. Magic from this world relies in ones image and will, using magical energy, or mana, to manipulate magicules to cause an ancillary effect. If you imagine taking away heat, you can create ice" said Shuna as she demonstrated, chanting an incantation to summon what amounts to a thick ball of ice that looked very dense.
"Of course, you can do so without chanting. But, that mainly happens with the chant annulment skill" said Shuna as she now conjured a ball of fire that she extinguished immediately. "So to put it simply, using ones mind and energy to cause an effect in accordance to some law using our image as a medium" she said, summing up her worlds in one sentence.
'Okay, not much different than what I know' I thought as she began manipulating her magical energy, and I activated magic sense to see how it flows compared to the outside world. As I began to analyse and see how it ebbed and flowed, I was able to grasp the concept as I began to manipulate my own magical energy.
As I had a strange affinity for magic, I could easily come into this stuff compared to others. The source, which seemed to be in my stomach, allowed me such privileges, as I could figure out what else would, well besides the vault that was. "' Yeah, I can create something even if we didn't have it"' said Selena, which I decided to ignore because of the world shattering revelation I was hearing.
"Of course, I am gonna teach you barriers and such so you can get an idea, and then illusion magic" said Shuna as we began our training. Aspectual magic, which was a branch that barrier magic fell under, allowed one to create sturdy defenses and even things like areas where magic was essentially nullified.
The training took a couple hours before we stopped for the day, and my body and mind was seemingly fatigued from the excercise, more the mind than body, but it felt like my body was covered in lead and was weighed down by the weight of the entire world. 'Pressure much' I thought as I went inside my bar and sat down for some cold soda with regenerative and training properties.
It was light and refreshing and it was also quite tasty to drink. 'I wonder what he is doing to keep himself hidden' I thought to myself. "I could provide an answer" said Selena, yet it felt like she was going to demand something for her service. "What is it?" I asked her. "Well, do you know what aura is?" she asked me.
I nodded, as I had a basic understanding of what aura was. "He is using it to hide its presence" said Selena as my eyes widened in understanding. 'Aura, why didn't O think of that' I thought. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?" I asked her as I felt her snicker. "Well, it wouldn't be training if you got help no?" she said as she seemed to be holding back a laugh. 'If your going to laugh, just do so' I thought.
Seeing as there was no point, I decided to head up towards my home. I opened the doors and what greeted me was the refreshing cool waters. "Hey Selena?" I asked as her form seemingly manifested in the home. It was quite unusual I thought, to have two people in the same space at the same time. "Is there anything that helps the body with adapting and healing from training?" I asked her as she handed me a red vial to pour in one of the pools.
"Remember this, once every training session" she said as she disappeared. I looked for the nearest pool and poured the contents in, causing the waters to take on a ruby hue. Its waters were still somewhat see through and it eminated a rich smell that was reminiscient of strawberries as I submerged myself in the waters as I felt the change occured immediately. It was somewhat painful, the reconstruction of my body to heal it, to adapt to the wounds I have received but it felt worth it.
I was submerged in the pool for 20 minutes it felt like, and as I stepped out I noticed it was more devoid of the ruby hue, leaving to look like clear water with a tinge of red as if blood was spilt in it. I looked at the vial nearby and saw the name, Refinement Liquid, which was a training supplement which helped with development. It worked it seems, as my muscles felt tight and compact, like a wounded spring ready to fire.
"Wow, I feel more powerful" I said as I felt the strength accumulate in my fingers and I fired off a punch, causing a small beam of pressure to escape from my fist. "I am gonna have fun with this".
